The large Living Room and kitchen (over 800 square feet) features tall ceilings (14 feet) and unique floor, wall and ceiling treatments. Maestro Jesus visited various museums and libraries to research these Mayan designs--Mayan symbology with emphasis on the four major elements of the Mayan world--fire, water, wind and earth.
The nearby kitchen is totally up-to-date with all stainless steel Italian, Mexican and American appliances. The kitchen ceiling is the "boveda" style with a major difference--an original Mayan Sun symbol--in genuine gold leaf. The comidor or dining area has a fireplace with an original fresco painting and walls with gold leaf designs.
The second level large bedroom includes one wall totally covered with over 3,500 squares in genuine gold leaf--a design inspired by a Moroccan rug. The attached bathroom (again rather large) has an over sized copper tub and a shower with skylights. There is also an original mural of a reproduction of a Fifth Century Italian tomb scene--and a cozy hand carved fireplace.
Tucked away on a hillside overlooking the magnificent city of San Miguel de Allende, this amazingly constructed and unique home has views of Centro from two levels. This three level gem with outdoor living space is perfect for lounging or entertaining.
Only a short walk to Centro, with off-street parking and a neighborhood watchman, you can feel safe staying at home or walking further into town.
