The Eagles Nest is setting another new and superior standard by which the quality, presentation and design of holiday homes in the beautiful South Western corner of Ireland will be measured.
Extensive renovation and modernization was completed on the Eagles Nest in early July 2007. From the outset of this project, the final goal was to produce a high quality, residence which encompassed everything and more that the holiday maker with a discerning taste would appreciate.
The living room is without doubt a feature of the Eagles Nest. A large vaulted ceiling with three large windows and a 3.5 metre sliding door provide natural lighting from all directions. Views from these large glass panels sweep spectacularly over the Atlantic Ocean, the expansive cliffs protecting the Irish coastline from its often wild and spectacular waters, ancient islands scattered along the coast, the secluded and tranquil harbor of Tragumna Bay with its Blue Flag Beach and then further inland to the rolling mountains and hills of Irelands famous West Cork scenery. Indeed, taking this in with your first morning coffee will have you convinced there is no need to leave the home to see more of Ireland!
A large stone feature wall inside the living room, with an inlaid LCD Television CD/DVD player, sat TV, a large leather couch and a cozy multi fuel fireplace, all tastefully selected and set amongst other carefully selected pieces of imported furniture will leave you wanting nothing as you relax in your home. The kitchen was completely replaced in the modernization project, the end result is a fully equipped, state of the art cooking environment comprising of ivory colored cabinetry, a hardwood teak worktop with integrated appliances, a large fridge/freezer with integrated ice dispenser and cold water tap, a 5 ring gas stove top and chrome appliances.
Stretching out of the living room and two of the bedrooms, is a massive decking which provides an even more stunning vista. Over 180 degrees of breathtaking scenery. The elevation of the outdoor decking is such, it leaves the observer with a feeling of floating over the marvelous landscape, across the rolling green hills, the towering cliff faces and the Atlantic Ocean. The yard is expansive and regressed, surrounded by high hedges offering seclusion and privacy without impeding the stunning vistas.
Situated in, with its Blue Flag Beach, a 7-8 minute walk will have you down on the waters edge. Rugged peninsulas, clean beaches, towering mountains and some of Ireland's most famous landmarks. West Cork is famous for its natural beauty.
A favorite holiday destination for generations, West Cork offers a wide variety of vacations and breaks - from gourmet heaven in Kinsale to the bustle of Dingle, from the lushness of Killarney National Park not far away in Kerry, to the wild Atlantic views at Mizen Head. The region is historically and culturally important and still has a number of Gaeltacht areas. Visits to islands such as the Blaskets, Garnish and Cape Clear are particular treats while the Ring of Kerry and Killarney and Kenmare town remain firm favorites year after year.
Tragumna itself is a tiny community balancing on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean with a local Pub named the 'Eagle' which is known across the country for its Irish Hospitality, its love of traditional music and its ability to transport all who step through its doors, back 100 years....an experienced not to be missed, an opportunity to mix with the local people and only a two minute drive from the Eagles Nest.
Skibbereen is the capital of West Cork, 5 miles from Tragumna. It is the center for all the agricultural, industrial and tourist activities of a wide region. As the ‘hub’ of West Cork, With 18 pubs in the town and award winning restaurants scattered all around, there is also plenty to do in the evening. |
