Welcome to the House on the Lagoon. This large 3-story custom designed home is situated on Burley Lagoon, off Henderson Bay in South Puget Sound. Just 39 miles from SeaTac Airport and 45 miles from downtown Seattle, it is the ideal family getaway or short-term corporate retreat for up to 10 guests.

Just 7 miles from downtown Gig Harbor’s art galleries, antique shops and restaurants on over a half acre of private salt waterfront with its’ own small boat launch ramp it is private, yet close in to activities. The property is on a no bank, shallow tidal lagoon; warm enough for swimming and wading during the summer months. A 12-foot aluminum fishing boat with outboard motor is available for your use on the lagoon for fishing or exploring.

Eagles soar overhead while ducks, geese, and other waterfowl are available for viewing year round. At low tide, clams, oysters and mussels may be gathered just steps away from the all season-covered wrap around porch with skylights to brighten up a rainy day (we do have a few in Washington).

An attached 2-car garage leads into the ground floor of the house through an oak floor foyer. Directly off the foyer is a laundry room with washer, dryer, ironing board and iron and a large sink. The laundry room even has a dog door so Fido can come and go at his leisure. Off the hallway leading to the living and dining area are a half bath and a den with a computer with Internet access, desk, and a futon that converts into a double bed if needed.

The living room and dining area share a cozy wood-burning fireplace (firewood provided) with an antique oak mantle. Dining for up to 12 people is no problem as the dining table has 3 leaves for expansion and cutlery and dishes are provided for up to 12.

The living room has cable TV, a DVD/CD with surround sound, VCR with many family movies on tape and a stereo for just listening to music while reading. There are quite a few books available for your enjoyment if reading is your preference.

Adjoining the dining room is a fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, indoor grill, refrigerator-freezer with icemaker, dishwasher, and a microwave oven. Condiments and all cooking utensils are provided, as are a toaster, blender and food processor. Enjoying the bountiful fruits of the Pacific Northwest was never easier.

The second floor has a master bedroom suite with a queen bed, private attached bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower, walk in closet, and a separate reading room attached to the master bedroom. Also on the second floor are 2 other bedrooms with queen beds, another full bath with tub and shower, and a bonus room. .

The second floor bonus room has 2 single beds, a large sitting area, desk, TV, stereo, DVD/CD/VCR. It is an ideal play area for smaller children as many toys and games are provided as well as a crib and playpen for the younger children.

Up another flight of stairs to the third floor is the adults’ game room featuring a full size Brunswick pool table, shuffleboard table, darts, card table and an oak bar for refreshments. A large sectional sofa and TV and stereo complete the adults’ game room.

Other bonuses provided are 2 adult bicycles, a basketball hoop, gas barbecue grill, stroller for small children and many toys, games, books and videos for all ages.

Within a 2-hour drive are many local parks and hiking trails, Olympic National Park, Hood Canal, Seattle, Olympia, and Tacoma and Mount Rainier National Park. The Columbia River and Portland Oregon are less than 3 hours away by car. Ferries to Victoria, British Columbia are available from Port Angeles and from Seattle.
