This stylish, romantic and petit duplex is located on the first floor (up one level of stairs from the street, French-style) of an 18th-century building which is situated on the rue St Antoine in the heart of the historic Marais. The apartment is located just around the corner from the Place des Vosges, one of the most beautiful and peaceful urban squares in the world. It's a 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame Cathedral or 15 minutes to the Louvre Museum, and only 5 minutes to the romantic cobblestones beside the River Seine. On the street are lots of speciality food shops--fromage, vin and pastries !! There are also many restaurants and cafes - after just a one-minute walk to the Place du Marche Ste Catherine there are nine restaurants alone!

St Paul metro is only a one min walk and the Bastille metro is five minutes away in the other direction, making all the sights of Paris within easy reach.

The apartment was totally renovated and remodeled recently. It retains the historic character while introducing state-of-the-art amenities and furnishings. The style is minimalist, modern and classic Parisian chic.

The main room of the apartment houses the living room and kitchen. It is a lovely, airy space with 13 foot ceiling and two 10 foot double-pane windows that look onto a quiet courtyard with greenery below. This room also has the original roof beams exposed. The kitchen area is unusually well fitted for a vacation apartment-- there is a full oven, four-burner glass stovetop, matt granite counters over gloss-black units, a microwave, and all the equipment you'll need to whip up a gourmet meal from the wonderful local markets. There is also a washer dryer and dishwasher. In the dining area there is a stylish Jean Nouvel glass-topped dining table that seats three, but can be slid open to accommodate up to six. There are two Philippe Starck Louis Ghost limited edition mask chairs and extra folding chairs should they be needed. In the sitting area there is a Chinese antique elm coffee table, and a comfortable sofa that converts to a double bed for extra guests....however, the apartment is best suited to two or three people. The 21 inch TV which folds into the wall has satellite giving you 100 English-language channels (mostly UK, but also CNN). There are two small closets in this room.

A particularly special feature of this apartment is the secret petit staircase (just visible in the first picture) in the wall that leads up to the bedroom. This makes the flat seem much more spacious than it is (it is only about 370 square feet or 35 sq m altogether). The bedroom has the most comfortable bed you'll ever sleep in, oak flooring and a built-in closet with hanging space. There are storage boxes under the bed and a small chest of drawers. Off the bedroom, behind stylish etched-glass sliding doors, is a power shower (a rarity in Paris) and WC with concealed cistern, all fully tiled with slate-coloured porcelain tiles. This room overlooks the courtyard, with an opening window, as well.

There is wireless high-speed internet if you bring your own laptop and free local calls from the landline.

Altogether, this is a lovely, quiet, stylish, excellently equipped and romantic little apartment, ideally located for you to enjoy all that Paris has to offer.

We absolutely had a wonderful time with this apartment as our home away from home. In a building from 1773, we felt the lovely weight of living like a local in a building with history. Everything is provided, neat and clean, and the location couldn't be better: close to Metro, market shops, patisseries, Place des Vosges and Victor Hugo's house, bus stop right in front of the door, Monoprix, Bastille, cafes and restaurants. A walk for a few blocks brings one to the Seine, the Ile de la Cite and Notre Dame. A walk down St. Antoine brings one to the Hotel de Ville, then the Louvre, the Tuilleries, Champs Elysses, Place de la Concorde. Our feet were tired, but we were getting in shape! Even with the world of Paris at our doorstep, it was very quiet inside for relaxing and sleeping. Owner and French contact, Michael, were very helpful. I would stay again, and would recommend this apartment to friends and relatives.

This apartment is the 5th VRBO I've rented in Paris and by far my most favorite. First of all, the location is perfect. The Marais is fantastic. Everything you could want or need is within walking distance and if you want to explore more areas of Paris the St. Paul metro is across the street. Even though the apartment is located on the popular and busy Rue St. Antoine it is exceptionally quiet due to it's location in the back of the building. The bed is super comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. It was such a treat to come "home" to the cozy apartment after a full day of enjoying all the charm & magic of Paris. There was also a wide variety of books about Paris to peruse and get ideas from. I certainly hope to return to this charming apartment and would love to stay much longer than a week next time. Thanks Judi & Michael.

The apartment was basically as shown in the photos. In operation the apartment is smaller then it appears. I would suggest that the apartment be used for no more then two people. The kitchen is less then reasonably equipped although one can get by with what is there. The location of the apartment, although on a main street is excellent, The St Paul Metro stop is a 2 minute walk, there are shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Unoftunately the drainage system in the bathroom was virtually totally clogged so that when one took a shower the shower pan filled to over flowing and the hair and other stuff clogging the drain floated up into the shower pan. I called the unit manager who said he'd get a plumber who never showed up. I called the owner. Her response was, "No one else complained and we'll look into after you leave". Quite frankly it was pretty disgusting trying shower in the hair and dirt from some other person floating in the shower pan. I found the experience quite displeasing and would not recommend the apartment to anyone until and unless the drainage problem is totally resolved. Phillip

Owner response: In three wonderful years of renting our apartment on VRBO, this is our first negative review....and the first time we have gotten less than 5 Stars. We have had amazing guests stay at our apartment -- couples on honeymoons, one celebrating cancer recovery, mothers travelling with daughters, authors and architects -- all people who sought a charming experience of 'la vie Parisienne' . It has been a joy sharing 92 rue St. Antoine with them. Sadly, this was not true with Phillip, his wife, and their pets. While I do not wish to complain about a guest, it needs to be stated that they were impossible to please and are the kind of guests I wish to no one. When their two dogs tracked in dirt, they complained about the dirt. They asked us to expand the number of TV channels before they arrived. They called frantically Michael (our apt. manager) for any reasons thinking he was their private concierge. They even managed to complain about two homeless women living down the street, as if it spoiled their pristine Paris experience, OR was somehow in our power to change! Last, it was the first time someone broke a piece a equipment and stayed quite about it thinking maybe we wouldn't notice. Please read what other guests have said before taking this one star review at face value.

My two grown children and I spent a week prior to Christmas in this lovely apartment. The apartment exceeds the description as for comfort, efficiency and location. Judi (the owner) and Michael (the local manager) could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I can't wait for my next stay on rue St. Antoine. Thanks again for sharing your Parisian home with us!

This property is perfectly situated in the Marais. Located on Rue de Rivoli, right across the street from the St. Paul Metro stop, (M1), we could not have asked for a better spot from which to explore the city. There are bakeries, a butcher, a florist, fresh seafood, grocery stores, a wine shop and more, all within the same block! Walk just a little further and there are fantastic restaurants and shopping. While the apartment is small, it was perfect for the two of us. The apartment was well-appointed and well-maintained. There is an elevator which was helpful for moving our luggage. It truly had everything we needed. Judi and Michael were excellent to work with: attentive, responsive, and very helpful. We would highly recommend this location and would seek out this location on a return visit to Paris.

My stay in this apartment was really wonderful. It's very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Perfect for cooking and entertaining. Quiet and cozy. Beautiful high ceilings and a delightful view into the courtyard below. But the real plus is the location. Right outside the door is everything you need: wine, cheese, fantastic bread & croissants, fruit & veg, even foie gras! On Sundays, a 5 min walk takes you to the amazing outdoor market at Bastille (where I bought a poulet de Bresse, complete with blue feet!). The St Paul Metro stop is just across the street. And the Marais, with its lively shops, cafes, restaurants, and street scene is all around - perfect for strolling and just soaking up Parisian life, without feeling like a total tourist. This has to be the most exquisite place to stay in all of Paris. Thank you Judi & Michael for making my visit so perfect.I hope I will be back soon!

After having rented elsewhere for the two weeks prior, and again elsewhere for 5 days afterward, I can verify that Judi's apartment on Rue St. Antoine is about as good as it gets, in every way, in the Marais,at this price level. First of all Judi and both her managers, Michael and Hannae, are responsive, cheerful, helpful and accommodating to arrival and departures or anything else. The apartment is pristine clean, the linens are crisp, lovely. The bed and the sofa bed, super comfortable....everything is there that you need. It is quiet, yet supremely located for bus, metro, Marais, and anywhere else you want to go. We made several lovely dinners at home, with guests over. Other rentals are much too small for this, or ill equipped. I will definitely be back, and will gladly recommend first off to anyone I know visiting Paris.

My wife and I recently stayed in what I would describe as the most convenient apartment in all of Paris. This location has everything you need right out the front door. There are grocery stores, restaurants, the Metro, and numerous other specialty shops. We stayed for the month of September and it was wonderful. Weather was terrific, all shops and sites were open and busy. I absolutely loved working with Judi. She is the most accommodating VRBO owner I know. We also dealt with Claudia, Michael, and Hanane who could not be any more pleasant and professional. This apartment is without a doubt the most comfortable and quiet place to sleep in the Marais. Don't bring a clock unless you absolutely have to be somewhere, because the rest you get will allow you to tackle everything Paris has to offer! I could go on and on about what a great space and location this is, but I know that if you choose to stay here you will be as pleased as we were. Thank you everyone involved with this little piece of heaven

We've stayed in many VRBO properties, and this is one of the best we've been in. It's petite, true, but impeccably appointed—we stayed for a month in total comfort. (And would have stayed on longer if we could have!) The apartment was immaculate. The kitchen really does have everything you could need to prepare fantastic meals, and it was heaven to have a dishwasher. The bed is comfy and all the bathroom fittings are high quality. As others have said, the apartment is at the back of the building, facing the courtyard, so street noise is not a problem. It was charming to hear the church bells throughout the day. You will hear people in the other courtyard-facing apartments, but we never found it disruptive. The owner was just a pleasure to work with. The local apartment manager is a treasure. He greeted us upon arrival to give us all the details and answer any questions, and was extremely responsive during our stay with any little things that came up. On a longer stay like ours, we really appreciated knowing that there was someone in town ready to assist if anything went awry. And the location! Perfection. We walked to Notre Dame nearly every day, and just wandering the streets of the Marais in the evenings was one of our trip highlights. We'd enthusiastically recommend this apartment to anyone!

Owner response: oh, jennifer...thrilled your stay in the little treasure box apt was so wonderful. giving our guests a cozy-comfy place to stay and the ability to shop and prepare meals, to walk around the quaint and lovely marais / st. paul area, and live 'la vie parisienne' is what i like most about offering our apt to appreciative folks like you! glad you mentioned michael the mgr. (our man in paris!) and liked him so much. his suggestions and help is immeasurable to our success. thank you so much for writing...and come back any time! all my best! xx

This apartment is a real little gem. We have been to Paris 5 times and this is our second stay in this apartment. Each time for over a month. The location sets the scene with a 3 minute walk to St. Paul Station, 2 min walk to supermarkets, cheese shops, wine merchants, atms, and an abundance of cafes, not to mention our beautiful boulangeries and our picnic area at Place Des Vogues. Sunday morning if we were in Paris started with a visit to the Richard Lenoir Markets at the Bastille stocking up on fresh produce and laughing with the singing merchants as they tried to entice us to their stalls. Such a buzzy and fun way to start any Sunday. But thats not all.....the owner who is a unique lady answered any queries we had within a day, great communication, which is a plus when you live 14,000 from Paris. Our contact for the apartment has always been waiting for us on arrival giving us an update on what has happened. There's more.....the apartment has the best kitchen (not a one burner and microwave) but a full kitchen with the highest quality utensils, white goods, saucepans and furnishings. Even the sheets and towels are first class. The apartment is stocked with more then the basic necessities and you just replace as you use, clearly most guests look after the apartment as if it was there own home. We cooked and entertained here and had no problem whipping up some serious good french food (thanks to our cooking class). It is very quiet given the location and we have never been disturbed by noise. Just recently a lift has just been installed although as you are on the first floor we found we had no need to use it. But its another bonus. Its lovelly to hear the bells of St. Paul across the road but that is not very often. We will be returning again next year and have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to whomever may be lucky enough to enjoy the delights Paris.
