I stayed on my own for a week while attending a conference. The condo is lovely and exactly like the pictures. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and it was hard getting up in the mornings after a restful night's sleep. Everything was in the condo that I needed and the views were amazing. It was great to sit on the balcony every evening and watch the sunsets. The condo was very quiet - never heard the neighbours and in the evenings it was quiet enough to sleep with the patio windows open all night. It is in a great location to the stores, beach and the mall and the bus stop is right out front. For $2 a bus ride you can tour the entire island. Thanks for a lovely stay and I would recommend the condo to couples or to a couple with small children.

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks over Christmas and were very happy with the condo. The view from the lanai is great and it is just a short walk to the lagoon and beach which is really convienent. The condo is a little small for 4 people as it is really a bachelor apartment. The kitchen was perfect and the bathroom large.It was just like the pictures on the website. We would recommend this unit and would definitely stay here again. Mahalo, Robert and Virginia

Terrific experience

Just a couple problems we encountered; the bed was too comfortable!! We didn't usually feel like we wanted to get out of it! It was the second most comfortable bed I ever slept in! (The MOST comfortable was at the Intercontinental in Montreal, where I could not even sleep the first night because of the comfort). Yours was a bit high though; as my wife is only 5' 2", we almost needed a small stepladder to get her situated.(The Jeep in Maui was a little more of a challenge, but she managed that OK too). Actually, Everything was terrific! Your pictures & description did not do justice to the amazing view, the excellent location, the rich history of the property & the ammenities of the unit itself. I found it particularly interesting that one (of the very, very few) minor critizisms of the property on one of the several travel sites I use was slow elevators. We, however, Never waited more than a minute (usually less) for a lift and totally disagree with that issue! The dining options within a few minutes walk were terrific! Hawaain Prince buffet, Red Lobster, IHOP and the other place handy them, even Snappers right across the street, were All a pleasure to visit! The car rental facility right across the street was extremely convenient as well, as we rented a car for 3 days to see the Island too. As much as we don't really mind the Timeshare hustlers, emergency sirens, deafening motorcycles, etc., of Ala Moana boulevard, we found your unit a peaceful sanctuary away from all that & as a result, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in every regard!!!! Robert, not only will we be sure to try and stay at your place again, we will highly recommend it to other people we know who travel and want Superior accommodations wherever they go! Mahalo for Everything!!

My husband and I booked this condo online and had no idea what/where we were going to be on Oahu. It was absolutely perfect. The room was very clean and the hotel was wonderful and had everything we needed. Accessible walking distance to all restaurants and shopping malls, marinas and beaches. I would recommend it to anyone! Friday night Hilton fireworks were lovely too!

Aloha from NYC! We wante to thank Rob and Virginia for letting us enjoy their lovely condo for the first part of our Honeymoon. It was truly a great experience. They are extemely easy to work with and the process was smooth without any hitches. The greeter waited patiently for us at 10:30pm despite our late arrival and traffic en route. He truly showed us the Hawaiian friendliness and we were off to a great start. The unit has a great view of the marina and ocean. It was just enough space for the two of us. We loved having the kitchen and option to sit and have breakfast on the lanai or enjoy the sunset. Location to Waikiki is perfect plus its far enough that you don't have to deal with the hoards of tourists in the heart of the area. The hotel staff were always pleasant and the grounds were beautiful despite the fact the place was built a while ago. We have no complaints and would stay here again! Mahalo Rob and Virginia! Absolutely wonderful stay for our first time in Hawaii!

I am not sure where to start as we have so many great things to say about our visit to Oahu. I guess the first thing we want to say is how easy and comfortable the booking process was. As this was our first condo rental, we did have some reservations about this process but thankfully everything went very smoothly and the owner was very accessible, helpful and responsive to any questions we had. Overall, the owners were pleasant and professional and further added to the great experience we had. Next, the room...It was exactly as described. The room was clean and spacious, had comfortable bedding, a great view (especially the sunsets), full kitchen, nice, cool AC and a nice flat screen TV with full cable. Everything was as described and our family of 5 was able to enjoy our stay both in and out of our room. Next, the location...We absolutely loved the location. The best part was the short walk to the lagoon and Waikiki beach. It only took a few minutes and you don't have to cross any streets, just a short stroll from the back of the hotel and you are at the beach! Aside from the beach, most of the shopping you can or want to do is within walking distance. The Ala Moana mall is huge and only takes about 15 min to get there if you are walking or a short trolley ride if you desire. If you want to stock up on groceries there is a Walmart and Sam's Club just behind the mall and is about a $10 cab ride back to the hotel. Just across the street from the Ilikai there are a couple of ABC stores which carry everything you need (food, clothing and beverages) if you don't want to travel too far. As well, there are plenty of food choices close by including McDonalds, Subway, Red Lobster and our favorite place, the Wailana Coffee house. It is open 24 hours per day and the food is very good and very reasonable priced. I personally got addicted to the pancakes with coconut syrup and thus their all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast special for $6 was a friend to both my stomach and my wallet. If you want to go to where all the action is in Waikiki, the $2 Trolley (one way) is the easiest way to go and the stop is just outside the hotel. If you prefer taking a cab, it is only about a $10 ride as well. Local attractions...the concierge in the hotel lobby was very helpful made trip planning a breeze. We booked all our activities through them including our car rental and the process was very simple. Overall, we loved our visit and definitely recommend staying at this great condo!

Fabulously Rejuvenating

Needed to rejuvenate and found this gem of a place. First all of the pictures do not do this place justice. When I stepped into this condo it's high end furnishing and the beautiful view took my breathe away. I knew that I had made the right decision in booking with Rob & Virginia they were both so easy to work with and responded to my inquiries quickly. Check-in was easy, pick'd up the key at the management office & dropped the key off in the drop-box at the Ilikai for quick & easy convenience. The kitchen was fully stocked with your standard fare Rob & Virginia left nothing to chance it has everything that you would need. They also kept a little box of goodies for our use which came in handy. The cheapest place for food is at Don Quiyotes which is at the first stop light that runs adjacent to Ala Moana park & the shopping center its about 3 blocks from the hotel don't go to the ABC store unless you don't mind paying through the nose. If you don't feel like cooking you are surrounded by wonderful restaurants. The service staff & amenities at the hotel was outstanding it definitely added a few stars since the last time I stayed at the Ilikai about 4 years ago. Don't miss the Friday night fireworks @ 7-745 it was a wonderful surprise for my husband and I the whole experience had us wishing that we had booked it for a romantic getaway. But it was comfortable for all 4 of us. All in all I can't wait to return and take that romantic getaway, I would highly recommend this condo you won't be sorry...

THIS IS OUR SECOND TO THIS UNIT AND IT WAS GREAT. PERFECT LOCATION AND WONDERFUL VIEWS. WE LIVE IN HAWAII ON MAUI BUT LIKE TO COME TO A CITY THAT DOESN'T TAKE 4 HOURS FLYING TIME TO GET TOO. I RECCOMMEND THIS IF YOU ARE ON ANOTHER ISLAND. THE ROOM IS SO NICELY DECORATED AND HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED. IT IS VERY CLOSE TO ALA MOANA SHOPPING AND CLOSE TO DINING AND WE WALKED TO WAIKIKI STRIP.WE WILL BE COMING BACK

Our first visit to Oahu Hawaii

This was our first visit to Oahu, Hawaii. My husband and I have been planning this trip since Oct 2010. My objective was to find the best place to stay. After reviewing many properties we decided on the Ilikai condo which was rented to us by Rob and Virginia. These folks are awesome people to work with. Our room had the best view ever. Every day and night you can see the ocean, the marine and the city lights of downtown Oahu. It was very hard for me to go to bed at night because of the warmth and beauty of begining able to sit outside on the Lanai and never feel cold, it was warm all the time. We could walk to the lagoon or Waikiki beach within 5 minutes it was so beautiful at night to walk on the beach and see the lights and music coming from the Hilton next door plus they have fireworks every Friday night, you can't miss this!!! Before you go to Hawaii let me warn you about the prices. Food and coffee are expensive, I knew this before going over so I packed a large plastic bag with enough coffee for two weeks. Bring trail mix, powder creamer and chips if you have room in your luggage. We did not rent a car, we took the bus every where or walked. Everything is within walking distance plus it helps keep your weight down. You can definitely put on weight if you're not careful. One of the things on my bucket list was to learn how to paddle board. Well at 60 years old I was able to learn how to do this by going to the lagoon next door and taking lessons. It was $40 dollars but it was way cheaper than those places that charge $135.00 and they let me practice as long as I wanted. Since I can't swim we had to go to WalMart to buy me a life jacket but it was so worth it for me. If you decide to go horseback riding don't go on the one at the Kualoa Ranch this was boring. Instead take the 2 hour ATV ride this was heck of fun. Also you need to go to the Polynesian Cultural Center what an awesome perfomance these people put on. Oh one more thing if you decide to go snorkeling go to Hanauma bay. We're disappointed that we didn't get there because our time was running out. The sun is very intense so don't get fooled by the heat you will get sunburned, some folks there were trying to get tanned in one day Ouch!! . There is a restraurant we really enjoyed it's called the "Cheese Burger" it takes 9 minutes to walk there. Well hopfully this has helped you decide to rent this condo. Reading all the other comments leaves me not much to say. They are true and it was a wonderful place to stay. I stayed many times in Hawaii and in fact used to live there. In all my visits to Oahu, this was by far the nicest condo and great location.. I went with my son, daughter-in-law, and two young teenage grand- children. We all loved it.and didn't have to go far for good food and good fun. "I love the food part". The condo is lovely with a BIG T.V. The view was beautiful of the ocean and harbor and we enjoyed many. lovely sunsets from the balcony. The beach was beautiful and everyone enjoyed it and other nearby beachs. There are Good restaurants all around within a very short distance for every taste and whim. Try a shave ice at the stand at the Hilton " beach side". Better then the famous ones in North Shore. Don't forget to have them add the ice cream which is not ice cream as we know it but tops off a delicious treat. The owner was so nice and helpful and the staff there was very freindly and made you feel welcome. We all loved this place and all it's unique charm and I will definately recommend it to my friends and others and look forward to being able to stay there again. Enjoy.......... Aloha

Great condo, Great location, Amazing sunsets

This is a great condo in a great location. The view from the balcony is amazing, especially the sunset. This condo is very clean and very nicely furnished. The condo has everything that you need including A/C and a cooler for the beach. On one side of the hotel sits the beach and Hilton Lagoon and on the other side is the marina. The condo is only situated only 2 blocks to Ala Moana Mall where they have great shops and a huge variety of eats from your typical mall food at the main food court to the 4th Floor where you can eat at Macaroni Gill, Bubba Gumps, California Kitchen to name a few. You can also pick up groceries at the Foodland store at the Mall if you want to take food home to eat instead. It is located only a short stroll to the main restaurants and activities in Waikiki. You can also hop on one of the numerous trolley buses if you prefer not to walk. There are 2 ABC stores and a subway beside the condo where you can grab sandwiches and drinks to take to the beach. We had a great time here with our 12 & 14 year old and hope to be back sometime soon.

A month in paradise

If waking up to a view of the ocean and early morning surfers , sitting on a lanai with cool breezes while eating breakfast/reading the news, or sitting in the afternoon drinking wine and watching the sun set is what you are looking for then this is the place. The location is very close to all the happenings of Waikki Beach. Shops, restaurants, and bars abound in close proximity. If getting about without a car is your choice, the bus system of Honolulu is great and inexpensive. The condo is wall equipped and very comfortable. Would be a little cramped with 4 people but hey you would be in Hawaii and what's not to like about sun, sea, sand and the splendor of the sights of a paradise. Come and have fun. The owners provide an extensive Q&A sheet which is very helpful.

Short and Superb!

My sister and I managed to get out of town for Thanksgiving week, and we chose this condo to rent. The Ilikai is in a perfect location; I have stayed at this hotel several times previously, but dealing directly with such great owners made this condo preferable to a hotel room. Everything is in walking distance: beautiful and immaculate Waikiki Beach, restaurants and shops, the incredible Ala Moana shopping center. Also, "the Bus" stops right in front of the Ilikai, which we used when we did too much Christmas shopping. We had a wonderful week.

We stayed here in May 2010 for a week. Everything was great - just as advertised, View, location, condo description etc. Right next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village which is on the widest part of Waikiki Beach! Would definitely stay again - but would be best for just two people (as we were) rather than a family.

We stayed in this property for 60 days, Jan & Feb 2010. It was an excellent place for us to just kick back, relax, enjoy the local culture, and of course, the beaches. The Ilikai is the place to stay if you want to be conveniently located to everything around Waikiki. Car rental not required, "The Bus" stops are right there and for a few dollars will safely take you anywhere on the island. And best of all, less than a 3 minute walk to the best beaches. This condo is fixed up right with everything just as advertised and according to the pictures. Everything works fine. There are similar condos in the Ilikai that are available for less money and with similar decorations and amenities. But the owners, Rob and Virginia, are a cut above the rest that I met and or talked with. They literally take care of all the business processes and procedures and stand behind their word on EVERYTHING. Honest folk that I trust entirely. I would have no problem staying in this property again and look forward to working with Rob and his wife anytime. Highly recommended. Give it a shot, I'm sure you will be pleased with the entire package. We were.

We were lucky enough to stay at this condo over the Christmas holidays. Everything is as it appears in the photos. This is a fresh, very clean remodelled 'ANA KONA' condo. The king sized bed was super comfortable, whisper quiet AC,and all the amenities to go with it. The sunsets viewed from the lanai were breathtaking. Right outside of the hotel is Dukes Lagoon and then Waikiki Beach. The strip is close enough to walk to and just far enough to have peace and quiet. Rob and Virginia have thought of everything to make ones stay a very enjoyable one. On our next trip back to Waikiki, this is the condo we will be booking. Great place! Gary & Kim

Our son plays for UNR, and although University of Hawaii put us out of the tourney, we had a great time enjoying the condo and the island. Great sunsets and a very nice restaurant at the top of the tower. Although we typically stay at the Hilton Hawaian Village next door as Hilton Grand Vacation Club members, we are saving our points to host our grandchildren at a Hilton property in Disney World this Christmas. We were impressed enough with Rob and Virginia's taste and hospitality, we will be renting their Orlando property at Christmas as well.

My family and I had the privilege of staying in Rob and Virginia's condo on Waikiki beach in late March. It was FANTASTIC! Our kids were happy to be in the room just hanging out! We traveled with 3 children ages 7 mos to 14 yrs, and had enough space for everyone. The condo is beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and linens. It is in a great location to get you anywhere you would want to walk. Thank you for sharing your island home with our family. We will definitely be back and would love to use your condo again. My husband and I had such a fantastic time last month in Hawaii. We spent a week at Rob & Virginia’s condo and enjoyed every minute of it. It is very well appointed with fine linens, brand new bath towels and all the kitchen amenities. As someone who really enjoys cooking, I found this to be the best vacation we have taken since I was able to prepare meals and eat in the comfort of our own space! Plus we save a ton of money on food, to be able to use in seeing and doing fun stuff instead. The location is prefect too, as we walked to everything in Waikiki and downtown Honolulu! The beach walk is just out the back door of the building and the main road Ala Mona out the front door. Just prefect!! We have already recommended this condo to several friend and even my in-laws! The best part of the renting experience was how easy it was to work with them and get everything arranged. I would like to say thank you to Rob and Virginia for making a memorable vacation for my mom, uncle and aunt-in-law on a budget and in such a short period of time. They loved their stay and the room was in its best condition with the awesome view of the sunset, and the ocean. They walked to the beach everyday and also enjoyed the neighbor's Hilton Hawaiian Village next door. The hotel was in a perfect location in term of getting in and out of Waikiki as I myself stayed in another unit before. I will definitely stay again as I love the service and how Rob and Virginia handle their vacation rental very professionally with a very personal touch, as a list full of helpful tips prepared to help you enjoy your stay with stress free as they were staying there themselves. I found this very helpful, even though I used to live in Hawaii for two years. Thank you!

Absolutely paradise and Rob and Virginia's amazingly perfect condo really made it that way. We just spent a week there. It couldn't have been better. The king size bed was sooo comfortable. the decor was lovely and luxurious instead of cheap and cheesy. My friend stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki while we were at the Ilikai and our condo was 10x better. More luxurious, roomier and with every amenity imaginable. I will definitely stay here next time I come to Waikiki and wouldn't consider anywhere else. I've used vrbo before other places and always been happy but this was definitely the best.

This was our 7th visit to Oahu and the first time we stayed at a condo. It was one of the best decisions we made, particularly working with Rob and Virginia, the owners. They were wonderfully accommodating, pleasant to work with, and have a wonderful unit. The location of this unit is perfect, directly on the ocean (Hilton lagoon out front) with a great view of the ocean and the marina from the lanai. It is close to both the activities along Waikiki beach as well as the shopping areas for getting food and supplies. We were there for 2 weeks and never even needed a car. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The unit has AC, Cable TV, privacy,a well-appointed kitchen, large shower, internet access, and it is in great condition as well. The cost was very reasonable (we did a lot of looking). Hawaii is certainly a great place to relax and enjoy yourself and it is made more so when your accommodations are both excellent and worry-free. This was a good decision for us. It will be for you as well.

We were very pleased with the condo. It has been beautifully updated and furnished. The view is quite nice, looking out over the marina, Ala Moana Park, a beautiful crescent beach and lovely city lights off in the distance. I was returning from a week on Guam and the quietness of the unit really helped me sleep the first night I was there. My wife joined me the next day and we had an absolutely wonderful week of vacation. The lanai was one of the best features of the unit. It was completely private and with the building across the way vacant, felt even more so. We slept with the sliding door open every night, fell asleep to the sound of the fountain below and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. One tip, the AC does not turn on while the sliding door is open. As soon as you close the door it starts again. We particularly like the Ilikai, as it is more of a residence as opposed to a hotel feel. There is very inexpensive parking in the back of the hotel at $6.00 for 24 hours so don’t feel that you have to pay the $25 per day valet parking fees at the hotel. The location was just perfect for us, as we like to be near everything but not right in the middle of town. We will definitely be back.

Singularly the most enjoyable part of our stay at the Ilikai was the sunsets and the night lights from our lanai. The kitchen and the bathroom were well appointed and functional. The bed was so comfortable and our teenage boys found it so easy to “get up late” on the trundle bed in the living area. The whole condo was spotlessly clean when we arrived with an abundant supply of linen and supplies. We arrived way earlier than the usual check in time and Brenda was there to greet us and hand over our keycard as soon as we arrived at the Ilikai, thankyou Rob for organising that. We walked from our room to Waikiki for a surf, to the Wailana Café and Pizza Pub to eat, to Ala Moana Centre for the best shopping, to the Hilton Hawaiian Village for music and drinks on the beach. With our two teenage boys in tow, we found it so easy to use “theBus” to get to Waimea Bay and Hanauma Bay. We didn’t need a car, we just walked everywhere. We would definitely consider renting the same condo at the Ilikai again, there is just so much left for us to see and do! We travelled all the way from Perth, Australia (on the west coast, the most isolated city in the southern hemisphere) so our long trip was worth every mile.

Our family had a wonderful stay in this condo . . . it's nicely decorated, very quiet, comfortable, and has a gorgeous ocean view. We had many meals out on the lanai while enjoying a changing view of sunrises, surfers, waves, boats, birds, rainbows, palm trees, tiki torches, sunsets, and nighttime lights. Our kids loved the outdoor pool and being so close to the ocean. We liked staying in such a convenient location, within walking distance of Waikiki's famous shopping, restaurants, and beaches. We're glad Rob & Virginia accommodated our family and would love to visit again.

This unit is a fantastic value! It is brand new and the owners have made every effort to make it perfect! The view is awesome, especially from the King bed! It is very quiet and very private. No noise from the elevator, which is conveniently right next to the unit. No neighbors from other buildings can look in. The unit is as nice as units at the Hilton next door, but with a little less room because it has a full, perfectly equipped kitchen! It was so nice to make our own coffee the way we like it in the morning and sit on the lanai to drink in the warmth and the view. The hotel was nicer than I expected with a beautiful, spacious lobby with marble and fountains and no musty smells which many old hotels have. All the hallways had new carpet and were clean and rival the best hotels. A terrific value, great hosts, great location - I'll definitely be back and will use for business trips as well. Thanks Rob!

Your 17th floor condo was simply more then we had expected. Great view, which we sat every night, watched the lighting of the TiKi tourches, Hula dancing and beautiful sunsets. The suite had everything necessary to complete our vacation. We enjoyed it so much we will be returning soon. Aloha, Darlene & Bill P.S. Believe us, you will enjoy this suite.
