We stayed here and found this to be better than expected. It was a darling cottage with many little touches, including fire logs for our enjoyment which we needed because the weather was not very sunny southern california while we were there. We had a small problem which the owners responded to quickly and generously. We would go back!

We are a family of 4 and had a wonderful time exploring Ventura. The house was very comfortable and more spacious then in the pictures. We had a stormy day of rain and thunder- enjoyed the fireplace and was able to read a book. Went boogie boarding at the beach. We liked the wide bike paths that lead to the dolphins that we were able to spot every day. Also enjoyed a trip to the Santa Barbra Zoo. Beautiful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house. The house was clean upon arrival and although things are old, everything worked just fine. We would certainly look at renting here again.

The beach is beautiful and so close. The dog loved it too. We have never rented a beach cottage before so it is hard to compare and we were looking for pet friendly. The worn and pet hair review we agree with but the pluses were the sunny back yard, the heat light in the bathroom, the proximity to the ocean and dog off leash there. It is cozy and generally the quirks didn't bother us. The kitchen equipment though worn did fit our needs. I would recommend more spoons so they don't have to be washed so often, large bags for the large kitchen trash, trash is collected on Thurs, not Wed. and please fix that bedroom shade slat that frightens us each time it falls.A bar in the shower would be nice. The beds were comfortable and the weather in later Feb and early March was all anyone could ask for. First time stay and for two weeks. The listing was accurate,owner helpful. We loved the Meditation Garden on the Mountain above Ojai. and all the historical sites including the walking tour brochure and the Ventura Magazine from Visitors Center on California. Grant Park is a great lookout and the walk from the Crown Plaza to see the Kite Surfers good for all ages.

The cottage was clean, just as advertized, great location, very comfortable, and reasonably priced. The 2 weeks we stayed were a stress free vacation without the stiffness of a resort, but all of the comforts of home. The cottage isn't fancy, but it was just what we were looking for. We not only would recommend it to others (we already have) but we will try to rent it again next year.

Relaxing at the perfect location. We and our dogs enjoyed the beach and the nearby park several times a day, including sunrises and sunsets, and then relaxed by the fire. Great backyard for the pets when we wondered into downtown Ventura on our own. We would certainly recommend this property, even though we'd like to keep it to ourselves!

The house was dirty. Human and dog hair throughout the house including the kitchen. Dishes needed to be washed before we could use them. Broken blinds in master bedroom, my Dad fixed them for you :) We loved the house and the location. We just hope the next time we visit, it will be cleaner

This is our third visit and once again a wonderful relaxing stay, the owner is so willing to please and make your stay one you will never forget, This time we had a 2 1/2 year old grand daughter with us and she had a wonderful safe time and we felt safe and secure letting her in the fully enclosed fenced back yard to play. We will consider this home away from home at the beach as our first place of choice.

This was a perfect vaction.The beach house has every thing you need. So close to the beach.We had a fantacstic time. I just wish she had more opening so we can come back more often. There is so more to do. we walk to starbucks every morning, I just love that. And then for dinner we would walk to Duke's the beat hambergers in the world. Or BBQ in the back yard. After watching the sun set.

The Best 4th of July Ever!!

What a wonderful time we had! Perfect location and very friendly neighbors.. Dog beach was great, especially in the morning when it was deserted..The fire pit was put to good use and the front deck was a great way to relax and "people watch"..Everything was spotless and the beds were cozy and comfortable..The only things missing were some cooking utensils (pots and pans)..We brought our own favorites with us, so it wasn't a problem for us..Our favorite place to eat was Andria's... the fish was excellent and it was pet-friendly!!

Great cottage for the whole family!

We had a fantastic stay at the Beach Cottage. The place was so close to the beach, and the off street parking was a plus. The back patio was a really sunny retreat in the cool mornings. The kids were so thrilled with the toy collection! Particularly the toy kitchen set! The fish and chips a few blocks down (Seaward Fish & Chips on Seaward Lane) was AWESOME! Our only were complaints were the wobbly dining table (easily fixed with a magazine!) and a squeaky old bed in the master bedroom. Otherwise we had a lovely time and would stay again! Thanks.

99 5th Street in Cayucos... so comfy that we stayed in and ate pizza on Saturday night instead of going out! Worn but clean and well-equipped. Beds were comfortable, and the couch was the most comfortable couch in the world! The TV is old but big screen, and cable worked with no problems. Showers were very nice. We would definitely rent this property again. So close to the beach, only thing better is on the beach. Rental people were very pleasant to deal with.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your cottage. Our four children, 7 and younger, loved all the toys. The weather was wonderful, access to the beach very close, and the cottage provided everything that was needed. My husband and I loved that the kids could play in the enclosed backyard without having to worry about them. We enjoyed using the grill and bbq pit. Thank you again for everything, We would definitely love to visit again!

Once again this year we had a wonderful time. The cottage is so comfortable and convenient to the ocean, the back yard and patio area is so relaxing and wonderful for all. The neighbors are so nice and friendly. This is a clean safe area to enjoy a relaxing vacation on the ocean. We will be here again next year. There are so many thing to do from Winery's to Whale Watching to just walking on the beach with your family and dog.

Beach Cottage was ideal for our family of four (two children 8 and 11). We were looking for a relaxing week by the beach after other stops in Central California and that is exactly what we got. The beach was literally at the end of the street so easy to take beach chairs. body boards etc with us (all at the house) and great to come back to at lunchtime when it was really hot and we were glad of some welcome shade in the back garden. There was more outside space than we had expected and ideal for an evening BBQ. If you want to venture further afield, Santa Barbara was only 25 mins away and LA an hour (both trips very easy). There are good restaurants at the beach (Italian very good) and at the harbour which are only a few minutes drive away. Would recommend to anyone looking for a beach holiday away from the masses but near enough to LA etc.

This is our second visit. We love this cozy cottage. It is perfect for our needs. All the things that you require are provided. All you have to do is buy your food! Has a cute play kitchen that our toddler grandchild enjoyed. We also like the privacy of the enclosed backyard as well as the front deck having a fence around it. Proximity to the beach is ideal. Looking forward to our third time around.

We have had a fabulous three months. The beach house has been the perfect get-away for us with our four legged kids! In fact, we loved it so much, we're thinking about booking again for next winter. I can't say enough about how comfortable we felt the entire time. The beach house is warm, cozy and the perfect distance to the ocean. Mia (our Toy Aussie) really had her schedule down on what time to hit the sand each morning and evening. It was so much fun to watch her chasing those shore birds and meeting all the little friends she made along the way... very nice people on the beach and in the neighborhood. What a wonderful place and time the four of us had. We had "NO" idea this would be such a wonderful time. The beach the surrounding area was great so much to do. The wine tasting was wonderful also. The beach house has everything you need. Our stay there was the best week of the summer. We want pedding boating, play on the beach, watch the sea lions from the sand,at night we walk to the beach and watch the fireworks. In the morning we walk to starbuck and then start our day all over again. There so much to do will not enough time. Can't wait to come back.

Real comfort, cool evenings, warm afternoons, and uncrowded beaches -- who could ask for more?! The house is pleasing to the eye, beds are comfy and the kitchen is exceptionally well stocked. Watch the sunset from the front deck and bar-b-q in the private back yard. Plus there's lots of parking. Don't miss the boat trip to the Channel Islands. You can take an all-day trip and kayak around an island or go for a half-day and whale- and dolphin-watch. We saw Blue whales in the middle of July!!! Take bicycles or rent them near by for a ride up the coast. Explore great music and art in Ojai, a short drive away, or pick your favorite place to relax and read. We can't wait to go back!

What a wonderful beach cottage! Neighbors were warm and cheerful. We had beverages at the beach every evening with the whole neiborhood to watch the fantasic sunset. Our kids played with other children without us worrying. Uncrowned beach with families playing and enjoying ventura's beautiful ocean. I thought I was in Hawaii without the tourists. My family and I had the best vacation ever! Every day we played at the parks, swam in the ocean and BBQ in the backyard. The kids ran down the street to catch the gorgeous sunset. Neigbors were friendly and at night it was quiet and peaceful.We are rebooking every year!
