The Ile Saint Louis, a small island in the center of Paris, is a few steps away from Notre Dame Cathedral. It is built with historical mansions dating from the 16th, 17th, and 18th century that were occupied by such figures as Camille Claudel, the poet Charles Beaudelaire, painter Daumier and more recently Marc Chagall and continues today with many painters, movie actors and celebrities all types.
The apartment, situated in the private courtyard of a very chic and beautiful 17th century mansion, is extremely peaceful with trees, plants and flowers in its garden. Also equipped with a digital door code for safety. 2nd floor. The stair and the entrance door of the mansion are classed 'monuments historiques.
The place is so peaceful all you will hear is the noise of birds! You can feel as if you were in countryside with spacious windows on nature.
The apartment is a large 35 square meter apartment (380 square feet) between studio and two rooms with very high ceilings.
It has one king size bed (convertible in 2) and a sofa possibly for two people.It is nicely decorated with a dining room table, chairs, desk, armchair, antique mirrors and decorative objects. You will find also commodities such as a TV, CD player, DVD payer, WiFi internet and free France and USA calls.
The kitchen is fully equipped with 4 electric stove tops, refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, coffeemaker, toaster and all you need for a wonderful stay in Paris.
Bathroom with a tub and a shower in it(hair dryer etc...)
You're at a walking distance from all major attractions: Notre Dame Cathedral, the Conciergerie, The Louvre, The Marais neighborhood with the Pompidou center and the BHV department store. Buses come through which take you easily to saint Germain des prés area and boats rides on the Seine are closed by.
Of course the island itself is a must with its church, historical buildings, butchers, cheese shops, bakeries,flowers shop etc ... and,... the famous Berthillon ice cream store which sports the best in the world on the same street
. Bike stations of the new cheap and easy bike rental system in Paris are just next door.

Weekly maid service is free; daily cleaning is €100 a week.

Ile St. Louis is truly its own little world, complete with dozens of beautiful shops, restaurants, boulangeries, boucheries, and of course, Berthillon ice cream. My 8-year old daughters and I shopped at the self- service market on rue St. Louis en L'Ile every day and enjoyed cooking every night in the apartment. We found the apartment just as advertised: clean, cosy, and quiet with a fabulous location. When we arrived at the apartment, tired and hungry, we opened the door to find hot coffee and pastries waiting for us, as well as a bottle of wine! One of my daughters immediately said, "I want to move to Paris!" One great benefit to our rental was a free mid-week cleaning. It was quite a treat to return to a spotless apartment after a day of sightseeing. Ile St. Louis does not have a Metro stop of its own, but we found the Pont Marie, St. Paul, and Cite' stations to be within easy walking distance (Pont Marie is the closest at about 5 minutes.) You can easily walk to Ile de la Cite', the Marais, and the Latin Quarter. We visited the Jardin des Plantes (beautiful and not touristy,) then walked along the Seine back to Ile St. Louis. It was such a pleasant walk and we even got to see what is apparently a very Parisian sight- a student demonstration! My French is not the best, so I'm not sure what it was about. I would highly recommend a stroll to the Place des Vosges in the Marais. It's breathtaking and there are many great places to eat and shop on the way. Closer to home, you should definitely visit Charlotte on L'Ile on the Ile St. Louis if you have a sweet tooth. They make true hot chocolate and wonderful pastries. Isabelle, the apartment's owner is fantastic to work with. I was amazed at how smoothly the whole rental process went. I would definitely recommend this charming apartment to friends and am hoping to return in the not-too-distant future.

We stayed in this apartment May 1 - 5, of 2009. It is an ideal place for 2 adults (possibly 3), we highly recommend Isabell's apartment located in an extremely convenient and quiet part of Paris. Only a few minutes walk to Notre Dame, as well as fabulous boat tours and metro stops. Wonderful restaurants and a small grocery store were literally down the street from us! Isabelle personally greeted us and escorted us to our apartment. When we arrived, she had a wonderful basket of fruit coffee and bread waiting for us, as well as wine and flowers to brighten the room. We had our own little kitchen where we saved a lot of time and money making our own breakfast and coffee each morning. There were little extras like hair dryer, iron/ironing board, internet, TV and DVD player, coffee maker, refrigerator, stove and even a washer/dryer! The bedroom is creatively separated from the rest of the unit and has a comfortable mattress. There was also a nice supply of books for our reading pleasure. There is a beautiful courtyard and stairs lead to the apartment on the third floor of a historic building. I'd like to mention that we also stayed at an apartment in the same area, but it was noisy and half the size of Isabelle's place for the same price. There was no coffee or kitchen either which we thoroughly missed each morning. If you want to really experience what it is like to live in the heart of Paris, feel very safe and have many more "extras" that a hotel cannot offer, then rent this apartment from Isabelle -- you won't be disappointed! --Mark & Sandy, USA
