The house was perfect. AC was cool and house was clean. My husband enjoyed the tv (once he found the golf tournament!). Lots of movies to select from. We made a huge bbq for Mother's Day and had daytime visitors over. The beach was easy to get to although the seaweed was more than you can imagine!!! We really enjoyed just relaxing and pretending we were in Florida (without the drive)

We had a great time celebrating our son's first birthday with family and friends! Perfect set-up for little kids that can't stay out in the sun all day--the boardwalk is great for getting to and from beach!
Owner response:So glad You enjoyed your stay! Family times and memories are what Wyndswept is for!

We loved our stay, even though we picked a very cold week in February, and the hurricane had taken a toll on the dunes, we still enjoyed the beautiful expansive view from the deck, and the great comfy decor inside. Definitely recommend.

Wow, incredible oasis in the perfect location. Amenities galore, nothing was overlooked, the grandkids had a big-screen field day with a treasure trove of great movies, books, video games and a flawless high speed internet connection. Carpet throughout is almost unheard of in this area, what a treat to the feet. Comfortable furniture and luxury bedding, even a double theater-style recliner in the family room for kickin' back after a fun-filled day on the beach. Speaking of the beach, it is just outside the front door, this is one of the best spots to enjoy the Gulf, including Galveston Island. Crabbing and fishing at the old pier within 200 yards of the house is fantastic and the views are incredible. We sighted playful dolphins splashing directly in front of the house every morning, what a breathtaking way to drink your morning coffee, bring your binoculars. Cook if you want to but there are fantastic restaurants within a mile, the Red Snapper Inn is a must and Kitty's Purple Cow is always a good time for all. Convenience stores just around the corner and this year we found a Kroger Store in Freeport, just 10 minutes away. We started visiting Surfside in the 60's while we lived in the Houston area, we now travel from DFW at least once a year to get our fix. Galveston is just over the San Luis Pass bridge if you like the crowds, want to visit the Strand or do some sight seeing but there are several souvenir shops that always make our grandkids smile right in Surfside. If you enjoy live music and a little nightlife, Hammerhead Bar and Burger, the Castaway Club and the Jetty Shack are within a stones throw. There are several vendors close by that offer economical rentals for everything from surfboards and kayaks to golf carts to drive down the beach. Surfside is known as a sleepy, laid back village but any vacation wish is within reach. This beach home is set on middle beach where the sand and surf are cleaned regularly and patrolled by local police making it a safe and clean environment for all. We totally loved our 10 day stay at Windswept, we could have remained there indefinitely. Thanks Hal and Michelle for the use of your home. " Thanks for a fabulous place to spend our first vacation with our adopted daughters! The adoption was finalized last Friday and we couldn't think of a nicer place to celebrate! The girls are 4 & 6 years old. We also had our neices 15 & 17 years old, and even Ma Ma made it. (I'm not going to tell you that she's 82 years old!) Everyone had a blast...we'll be back as soon as possible!"
