Restoration of the stone mill was completed in 2007, and the owners have maintained the highest of standards, preserving even the original mill stream that can be viewed through 2 glass panels incorporated into the terracotta paving of the living room.
A stone staircase leads to the upper level that features 2 large double bedrooms, each with a beautifully appointed bathroom and windows that enjoy a romantic vista of the valley and the surrounding gentle Tuscan hills. The beds in the second bedroom may be made up as a double or alternatively as 2 singles.
The mill’s garden features a large lawn, many mature trees and a private paved outdoor dining area complete with a large sun umbrella, located just a few paces from the kitchen. An idyllic spot for lunches, aperativi and evening meals al fresco.
The famous medieval hilltop town of Anghiari is within easy reach, just a 5 minute drive. This historical town with its charming cobbled streets adorned with flowers, weekly markets, specialty shops, many authentic restaurants, fine bars and wine tasting Enoteche offers a special insight into Tuscan culture. The town hosts traditional festivals and musical events in the summer months and the local museums are open all year round.
The Mill is just a gentle stroll from a small village that hosts a traditional family run restaurant that offers many authentic Tuscan dishes at fair prices. There is also a newly renovated bar next door.
Your hosts live on the property, in an independent wing of the Mill house however they are on hand when required to provide advice or further information on the area. Lulu also supplies a welcome hamper with fresh fruits, complimentary wine along with provisions for your first breakfast at the Mill.
