Big Bear Cabin at Bear Den (i.e. Mountain View Cabin on Lot#6) is a magnificent mountain view log cabin with so much to offer! It has lots of room with roughly 1,350 square feet, two bedrooms (both have queen beds), two bathrooms, loft (queen sleeper sofa), 480 square foot front porch with hot tub overlooking Humpback Mountain, cozy stacked stone gas log fireplace, abundant amenities, antler chandelier over the log dining room table, convenient location, and more! Big Bear Cabin is located in the Bear Den community directly off of the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 324.8 in Spruce Pine, NC.
Nestled in the heart of the Pisgah National Forest, Big Bear Cabin is located within 5 minutes of the Orchard at Altapass, 10 minutes of the areas best gem mining, 15 minutes of the nationally acclaimed Penland School of Crafts, 10 minutes of the beautiful Linville Falls Recreation Area, 15 minutes of Grandfather Mountain, 25 minutes of Mount Mitchell, and 45 minutes of the ski slopes.

- Air Conditioning: The cabin is equiped with central heat and central air conditioning.
- Washer: The washer and dryer are located under the stairs to the loft.

- Linens Provided: If you wish, you can have your towels cleaned daily by notifying the reservation office.
- Gas Fireplace: The cabin is equiped with a rustic floor-to-ceiling stacked stone gas log fireplace and a 115 year old reclaimed wood mantel.

- Queen Bed: Each bedroom has a queen sized bed with large log headboard.
- Convertible Bed: The loft has a queen size sleeper sofa.

- Cable/Satellite TV: The downstairs living area, loft, and master bedroom all have tv's with Direct TV satellite service.

- Private Hot Tub: The hot tub is a large 4 person Hot Springs brand hot tub (i.e. the best hot tub brand in the world) and sits on the front porch overlooking Humpback Mountain. It is a one-of-a-kind experience relaxing in it at night with the outside porch lights turned off, looking up at the millions of stars in the sky.

- Full Kitchen: The kitchen features an inviting island that is great to socialize around during meals and is next to the large 6 person log dining table. The log dining table sits under a large antler chandelier.

- Gas/Electric BBQ Grill: There is a Weber gas grill that sits on the front porch.
- Deck/Patio: There is a very large front porch on Big Bear Cabin which directly overlooks Humpback Mountain. On clear days, there are also really amazing long range views that can be seen out of the dining room windows or while sitting on the left side of the front porch. To give you an idea of how large the front porch is, it is roughly 480 square feet in size.

- Mountain View: The views from Big Bear Cabin are really amazing. Big Bear Cabin directly faces Humpback Mountain. On clear days, there are also incredible long range views that can be seen by looking out of the dining room windows or sitting on the left side of the front porch.

- WiFi (Wireless Internet): Wireless internet is available at “Big Bear Cabin” for $10 per day and must be purchased for the entire length of your stay. If you wish to have the wireless service for only a “portion” of your stay (example: 3 days out of a 7 day stay), your desired “portion” of days must be consecutive and must be the last days of your stay (example: days 5-7 of a 7 day stay). Simply let the Bear Den reservation staff know that you would like to purchase the “Big Bear Cabin” wireless internet password when you check in.

- No Pets Allowed: Please do not bring pets to Big Bear Cabin. We love animals, but do not wish to have them in the cabin.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Renters must be 21 years of age.
- Smoking Not Allowed: Please do not smoke inside of Big Bear Cabin. We have a decorative pot filled with sand on the front porch to be used as an ashe tray.

Between the hot tub, the scenes through the windows, and the joy of being with family, we had a hard time leaving. My daughter even commented the sleeper sofa wasn't bad at all. She also saw a raccoon family. "Bob the Griller" was just sure a bear would waddle out while he was grilling steaks, but no such luck. Definitely want to come back. Thanks for sharing your blessing! P.S. My husband likes the porch - a lot!

We had a great time at the Linville Falls and Caverns! It was a great weekend getaway for the family. Wish we didn't have to leave and go back to reality, because this has been like a dream.

The hot tub was a great hit. Loved the furnishings, the views, and nature (i.e. rabbits & deer). First time in the mountains and will not be our last.
