  Beautiful home in a great location. Great kitchen for entertaining. Great pier, we caught a lot of tasty blue crab off the pier. Easy access to Kayak in Weeks Bay and the Magnolia River.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  This place was a wonderful way for all the bridesmaids to enjoy a special weekend with the bride to be. Plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms for each guest, great views of the bay, everything you need on hand. Would definitely come back with family to enjoy this area and be able to have everyone together.

  This was a wonderful week for my family..7 adults and 2 children (3&1). We loved being out on the covered wharf all day..cooked hamburgers on the grill out there. My daughter brought a blow-up pool for the little ones and that was perfect for them. But the 3 year old loved the beach as well. The few times it sprinkled we could let the children swing in the play area under the house! The kitchen was great and all accomodations were perfect. Would definately recommend the house to friends and look forward to our return visit next year!!

  We left yesterday and I do not think I will be able to last until I can return next year. What a great week with my children and grandchildren, fishing, the beach. The house was wonderful, plenty of room, great kitchen, beautifully decorated the artwork was great. Little problems were immediately handled by owner, did not get upset when I called. We dtd see the porpoise jumping, heron on the pier and pelicans added the great feel of the beach. The only problem was the heat but most of the time the breeze was wonderful.

  We had a once in a lifetime vacation! My husband and I wanted to take our children and grandchildren on a family vacation. We planned for months. We were so excited to find this place. It was perfect for the grandchildren because the water was not too deep and the waves were not too high. They spent every day on the beach. The Children and spouses went crabbing every nite until 2. On Thursday nite we had a huge seafood meal with crabs, crabcakes, and shrimp from Foley fish market. This place is truely awesome. We saw dolphin two nites and the birds are awesome to watch diving for fish. The kids enjoyed the pool table and wii, as well as the televisions in everyroom. Our granddaughters loved the shower in the master because it was huge and they could all get in at one time. The adults enjoyed the hottub more. Thank you for sharing your home with our family. No one wanted to leave especially me!!!

  My wife and I decided to spring for a place where our two kids and their families could get together for a week at a location that offered many things to see and do. We've both sort of grown up going to Gulf Shores so we felt something in that area would give all of us all we wanted. We've been to the state park cabins and to bed and breakfast places in Fairhope, but we needed something bigger. Shangri-Log was just what we needed. Every separate family group had their own bedroom and bath, and the kids could play to their hearts content in the loft area. We enjoyed the pier and the private beach area so much! The house is furnished with all the utensils and linens we needed, and the appliances are all top-of-the-line! The ice-maker is a life saver! I can't think of a better time. We all had a good time. There was ample space for folks to be off by themselves, and plenty of room when we all wanted to be together. Shangri-Log is a bit off the path, but that was what was appealing to us At the same time, shopping, the coast, great eateries, are all close enough! Would we do it again? You Bet! Except next time, i'm hoping one of the kids will bring a boat! Five Stars for value, location, facilities, furnishings, and so on. The house and grounds were clean and neat when we arrived, all the rooms were set up. Linens, silverware, bathrooms were all ship-shape when we arrived. Hats off to a good owner/manager!

  Yes sorry for the stairs, but when you're on the bay the houses have to be up in the air.(hurricanes you know) Maybe one day we can put an elevator in.Thanks for letting me know about the leaky plumbing issue,plumber is there today..Please come again and enjoy our Shangri-Log

  The discription was just as described, the photos were accurate,the area was beautiful. The surrounding property was well kept. I do not recommend this for people that have trouble with stairs as there are MANY! I tried to e-mail the owner but could not get the e-mail to go through. There were things that needed to be taken care of and I would like to address these with the owner. I would love to go back and spend some more time but with younger people that will not have trouble with the stairs.

  Came down to golf the Robert Trent Jones Trail. House was great place to stay for our group. Its in great shape. Easy to rent and the views of the bay are spectacular. Higly recommend

  The purpose of our holiday was to relax - this home fit the bill perfectly! Spent most of the time on the hammock and/or swing on the dock, listening to the birds and water. Also enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the swing in the early morning and late evening - We loved the quiet privacy. Pool table provided some fun activity during the windy showers. Suggestions: a trash can is needed for the master bathroom; also, more than one roll of toilet paper! Perhaps we missed it in the rental amenities, but bring your own hair dryer!
