This duet home has it all –beautifully remodeled, comfortably furnished, centrally located, and only a 1 minute walk to the beach.

Come live amongst the locals, and learn why they make Santa Cruz their cherished abode. Our home away from home is located just a few homes away from the incredible East Cliff Drive ocean walking/biking path. We are centrally located for all that the Santa Cruz area has to offer. And the location of our home is the perfect launching pad for ventures North and South along the incredible Pacific coast.

Our home is located on 38th Avenue adjacent to East Cliff Drive, which runs parallel with the rugged Pacific Coast. Our home is in one of the best beach town neighborhoods of Santa Cruz. We have just finished extensive re-modeling, including a brand new kitchen and bathroom We have gorgeous new granite counter tops in the kitchen and bath. All the appliances are brand new including a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and a brand new full size washer and dryer in the laundry room.

There is new tile in the kitchen and bath, new faucets, new sinks, new showers, everything is new. The furniture is new and comfortable and conducive to a lovely home environment. And we take pride in providing all the comforts of home including linens, towels, a fully stocked kitchen with pots/pans/dish ware/silverware etc…

Our home has a queen bed in each bedrooms, as well as a queen sofa bed and a full size futon/bed in the living room. We are on the second floor with a spacious deck overlooking a peaceful private backyard, and you can even see the ocean from the dining area and deck. We have brand new upscale patio furniture on the deck including 2 lounge chairs and a dining set for a lovely outdoor dining experience. You are also more than welcome to have your children use the downstairs fully fenced in private yard.

We also provide a phone for local calls, as well as high speed internet for you to research on your laptop, your next Santa Cruz based venture. We also provide and regularly update a list of our favorite restaurants (local and in nearby towns). And for you surfers, we have an outdoor shower.

The Santa Cruz area has so many incredible things to do:
- Henry Cowell State Park (incredible mammoth redwood trees)
- Big Trees Railway (train from redwoods to the Boardwalk)
- Santa Cruz Beach/Boardwalk (one of last amusement parks on the beach)
- West Cliff Drive bike/walking path (miles of walking/biking along the coastal cliffs)
- Capitola by the Sea (dining/shopping); ecliptic downtown Santa Cruz (people watching/dining/shopping); Cowel Beach (perfect beginner place to learn to surf)
- Wilder Ranch (historic old time working farm); Santa Cruz Wharf (more dining and shopping along with our noisy Harbor seals) etc… etc… etc…

And oh so close to the Santa Cruz area is:
- Carmel (60 minutes to dining/shopping and more art galleries per capita than anywhere)
- Monterey (55 minutes to more dining and shopping, ocean walking paths, kayak rentals)
- 17 Mile Drive and Pebble Beach (55 minutes to incredible scenic ocean drive and phenomenal golfing)
- Moss Landing (30 minutes to Elkhorn Slough (kayaking with hundreds of sea otters, Phil’s Fish Market for lunch/dinner)
- Half Moon Bay (50 minutes to more great art galleries and dining)
- and only 70 miles up the incredibly scenic coast to San Francisco.

We are only a 35 minute drive from San Jose Airport, and 90 minutes from San Francisco Airport. And we are within walking distance of all the conveniences of town including grocery stores and local restaurants.

  • I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Santa Cruz vacation house on 38th St. My family and I loved the house and the location. The house was clean and had everything in it we needed for our stay. The location was very close to the ocean, a playground for my grandson,a great coffee house and my daughter's home. I would definitely return to this wonderful vacation house.

  • We were at this apartment from July 7-13 and found it to be just right for our purposes. 4 of us stayed very comfortably and it was clean and well supplied. We loved its proximity to the ocean and enjoyed great walks, especially to Capitola for breakfast on the first morning. For New Englanders, this was California at its best! Watching hummingbirds on the bottle brush plant outside the large picture window was a special treat.

We want to thank you very much for letting us have very enjoyable weeks in your beautiful, with modern , new interiors with ample real plants and very quiet apartment very near the Pacific ocean .We very much enjoyed the clean and very well taken care of bright rooms with expensive furniture, beautiful pictures on the walls and a very comfortable bath room. We always could have sound sleep in the comfortable beds. Every morning we woke up along with the bright California sunlight through the big, beautiful windows. We looked forward to taking a hot shower and leave for our daily trips. The location of the apartment is not only ideal for the beautiful, expansive beach but also for our daily trips to San Francisco, Monterey, Carmel, Gilroy and many more exciting and interesting places in the vicinity. And when we returned back “home” in the evening the big balcony, overlooking the beautiful backyard, was waiting for us to relax. And how much better can it be when you can see the ocean from the big balcony? It was just “PERFEKT”! And we could have walked every day to a “gourmet” restaurant! Thanks to all the spacious and very practical rooms as well as the availability of 2 TVs, Hi speed Internet, Wi-fi, multiple Telephones, and all the kitchen appliances, as well as a washer and a dryer, we could relax very well together with our three children. When we had a small problem with a fuse of the washer, your handyman came in a matter of hours to fix it. Because of the beautiful and spacious backyard and especially because of the two gates, which made it possible for our children to run around safely, we didn’t have to keep the kids only in the apartment. All we needed to do was to secure the gates so that they were not left open for the children to sneak out. Although most of the times we just ran out the door to the beach to watch the surfers and kite flyers. That was so relaxing! The entire family, including my husband, children and myself are going to think about our vacation in your apartment very fondly. We hope to be back very, very soon.   • We had a great time at your house. It was very modern, user-friendly, and included little extras like wi-fi, washer/dryer, and an extra tv in the back! We were able to walk to 2 of the best surf spots as well as a few restaurants. The backyard was perfect for a couple of toddlers to play without worry. It really did feel like our home away from home.oh--one more thing. We noticed the countertops were granite. We have granite as well, so we know how to care for it. But you might want to maybe leave some care instructions? hank you so much for opening your rental to us. Our trip was relaxing and we had a great time. We'll definitely spread the word to our friends, and will hopefully come back next year!! Melissa

  • Hi Bill: We really enjoyed our stay at this vrbo listed house with the Search by VRBO # 161724. Chip and I, love the outdoors and we truly enjoyed the beach. Our work keeps us inland and away from the ocean for the majority of the year. Our stay near the ocean gave us an opportunity to spend quality relaxation time smelling and hearing the great Pacific. The house is beautiful and has all the amenities that made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you for the hospitality. We look forward to visiting this spot again someday.
