Our home is your setting for a perfect vacation getaway. No matter what the occasion, whether serious fishing expeditions, family fishing or snow skiing vacations, golf outings; family reunions; university events; or corporate and private retreats, this home is ideal. We're on-the-water so you can fish right out the back door. You can also launch your own kayaks or tubes on-site as well.
We're located just 3 minutes from the town of Gunnison and the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport. Just a few miles downstream the Gunnison River flows into Colorado’s largest body of water, known as Blue Mesa Reservoir where sight seeing, boating, sailing, and fishing abound. If you’re inclined for a game of golf you’ll be excited to know that we're actually surrounded by the Dos Rios golf course where the public is welcome.
Fishing – ESPN recently ranked the Gunnison River as 'the best overall freestone trout river in America'. The famous blue ribbon waters of the Gunnison River offer trophy Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat trout literally within 50 feet of the house. Within 30 minutes drive you can also be on the Taylor River, East River, Spring Creek, Lake Fork of the Gunnison, or Blue Mesa Reservoir. The possibilities are simply endless. Also, if you happen to stay with us in the September-November timeframe you can catch the Kokanee salmon in the river as they make their way upstream to the Roaring Judy hatchery. Picture yourself spending a day from dawn to dusk with great fishing, rafting, kayaking, hiking, skiing, exploring abandoned goldmines, or just relaxing on the deck and listening to the river.
Skiing – Just a short 30 minutes away is the picturesque town and resort of Crested Butte. Crested Butte features some of the finest snow skiing and snowboarding in the country. Crested Butte is not only known as the 'Last Great Colorado Ski Town' it offers an amazing shopping experience with its prominent Victorian architecture within the ever popular Crested Butte's national historic district. You'll pay a fraction of the cost with us, versus lodging in Crested Butte. In fact, this home would cost upwards of $800/night in Crested Butte.
Hiking and Biking Adventures - The Hartman Rocks, visible from the front yard, provides a high-desert (8,000 ft above sea level) riding/hiking adventure over a 6,000 acre basin. Diverse options include both miles of smooth, sage-lined single track to concentrated slick-rock technical sections. Trails are for bikers, runners, hikers and there are climbing/bouldering areas as well.

What a perfect place for a large extended family to stay. The kitchen was perfect for cooking for a crowd and the layout of the house with the 3 separate outdoor seating areas was great. The house was clean and very homey feeling. Michelle was fantastic to work with and willing to accommodate our needs.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

Gunnison River Lodge is a place of spectacular views, great trout fishing and family togetherness. I can not thank you enough for my vacation of a lifetime! Coming home to Colorado was already a blessing. Sharing it with the Turner family made it a special moment in time. I will never forget the lures I lost in the river, the hiking with a 3 year old, or the “please slow down” when it came to my Florida driving. Since I no longer have a family unit like yours, I felt really included and that meant more to my heart than you can know. Your home is beautiful but the owners of the home are what really make it special! To my generous, kind hearted and loving 2nd family… I love each and every one of you! Thanks for my great adventure!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved this fabulous house. Thank you for the beautiful flowers. The weather was beautiful and we’ll all miss the sound of the river when we go home tomorrow. If you decide to white water raft, ask for Dustin and Karrey at Scenic River Tours. They are delightful people who actually grew up on this street. We also got to see deer in the neighbors yard. They were beautiful. Thank you for renting out your beautiful home and all the little touches that make it more comfortable.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
