This fabulous 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is only 1 ½ blocks from the beach and is exquisitely decorated with fine art and designer furnishings. Entertain or sunbathe in the large rooftop patio and enjoy a glass of wine while watching hot air balloons and the sun set over the blue Pacific ocean. After just a few hours here, you’ll be immersed in the laid-back lifestyle of a friendly southern California community.
Our place is attractive and comfortable for both adults and children with a large master suite with Cal King bed, sitting area, large walk-in closet, expansive double bath, and private patio. The second bedroom has a queen bed, walk-in closet, private deck and adjacent full bath, plus a computer desk with high speed wireless network. The third bedroom has two large twin beds with memory foam that convert to a king if desired. Each room has flat screen TV.
The living room has a 42” Panasonic plasma screen with home theater sound. The master bedroom has a 32” LCD. Each room has an overhead remote fan and additional high-quality inflatable queen bed available.
Feel the invigorating Ocean breeze when you go for an early morning walk on the beach and catch a glimpse of the pelicans, dolphins, and numerous sea birds. Of course there are surfers and even whales -in season. Located on a quiet street in the “walking district”, our beach house backs up to beautiful Glen Park.
With the playground for the kids and picnic table for all, you can play a game of tennis, basketball, or volleyball or relax on the lawn and read a book. Within the “walking district” you’ll find all the amenities and services you’ll want including fine and casual dining, a gourmet food market, Patagonia clothing, Starbucks coffee, the library, post office, gym, cleaners, and surf shops.
Have breakfast at the local surf café - Pipes, lunch at the healthy fare - Ki’s, watch the big game at Yogi’s sports bar - and dinner at one of the beach front restaurants such as the Chart House, Charlie’s, Las Olas, and the Beach House - all within walking distance.
Cardiff-by-the-Sea is a charming seaside village with wonderful unique beaches for walking, bird watching, surfing, boogie boarding and swimming. The coastal climate is amazingly comfortable and moderate all year round. The sunsets are spectacular.
Enjoy all the nearby attractions -- The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, Legoland, Disneyland to the north, La Costa Spa, the high style of Cedros Design District and Del Mar - home of the Del Mar racetrack and fairgrounds. Hike in the cliffs at Torrey Pines or play a round of golf at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Resort - site of the 2008 US Open. Within a short ride there are endless beautiful golf courses to choose from with the perfect weather and views typical of north county San Diego.
San Diego is less then 30 minutes away. Be sure to visit Sea World and the world famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, wander the museums and gardens of Balboa Park, the timeless settlement at Old Town. Dine in the romantic evening at the Gas Lamp quarter. There is whale watching, hang gliding, dinners cruises, tours of the USS Midway and the Star of India sailing ship, even a visit to Point Loma and famous the Del Hotel on Coronado Island. As a fun alternative, take the Coaster train down to San Diego and Old Town. You can even take your bike with you on board.

Our week here was wonderful! Everything in the kitchen is very well organized and generously supplied. The beds are very comfortable. Three levels of living space allows everyone to have their special place to relax. Thank you for all the beach toys. They were well used by my granddaughters. I hope we have put dishes back in the right cupboard and followed all the suggestions correctly. Thanks again.

My family and I just spent a week this past July 2011 at this property and REALLY enjoyed it. I'm originally from the North Shore of Oahu and found this beach town just north of Del Mar so close to what I grew up around. Perfect setting and place to stay if you're looking for a great getaway @ the beach and where to hang with friends & family. We'll definitely be back -- Thanks!

My husband and I stayed for a month at this lovely, contemporary, Cardiff beach house - it was a great spot in all respects. The owners have taken great care to make their home pleasant and comfortable for others. They are very nice people and were extremely helpful and responsive when needed. We enjoyed a month of perfect weather with walks through town and to the beach, hanging out on the roof deck, an overnight trip to Catalina Island, and just generally taking it very easy!!! Thank you, Don and Charlotte!

Our vacation, beginning with your beautiful home, is a dream we will never forget. It is so beautiful here and so much to do and see. We feel very fortunate that we were able to see as much as we did. The location was perfect for the things we chose to do - convenient to San Diego, the wine country, shopping, and whale watching. You have done a wonderful job of decorating and providing all the conveniences for us to enjoy. Everything was just as you said. Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay here and take it all in. We didn't want to leave and we hope one day to get back here.

We had a great one-week stay here with our extended family (including small children). The house is everything the ad states and more. Clean and up to date floors, appliances, fixtures, etc. Watched the sunset every evening on the roof deck chatting with the very friendly neighbors. Took the family to the beach (5 minute walk) and the park (one block away). The owners provide a parking pass for state beaches, so we got to explore the various sites nearby. Local shopping was great. Friendly community of local and visiting families. House is well-equipped for anything you might need. Location is perfect. Garage parking for one car. Owners are very responsive. The culture of this rental is to "help us keep it nice", so don't expect to make a huge mess and just leave (not for the uncivilized renter!). Eat at Roberto's Taco Shop (Solana Beach), The Beach House (Cardiff). The Coaster train station is not too far away (15 minutes walk, 3 minute drive) if you want to get to downtown San Diego or the other North County towns. We would certainly stay here again!!!!!

We just returned from our week-long stay at this wonderful home in Cardiff. We've stayed in a number of VRBO homes and this one was one of the best. The home, owner-communication, location, linens/supplies, etc were all top-notch. If you want to experience southern California beach-town living with all the conveniences of home, you won't be disappointed.
