This Pine Island rental, just minutes off Stringfellow Rd running north and south the length of the island, sits on the banks of a freshwater lake that is home to egrets, herons, and other wildlife. Greet the morning with coffee on the lanai - relax, refresh, renew.
The house has a "split" floor plan: the kitchen joins the spacious cathedral-ceilinged family room, two guest rooms and a full bath on one side...with more formal living and dining rooms and amaster bedroom with bath on the other side. This type of plan - very common in south Florida - was originally designed to accommodate older adult owners with visiting family members, providing common areas of kitchen and lanai while allowing individual preferences for entertainment, and leisure activities. It's a perfect fit for couples and friends who want to share their vacation time together yet still maintain separate/"split quarters.
The lanai,which fronts the lake, is accessed both from the family room and the dining room through sliding glass doors that "disappear" against the outside walls. In the near-by community of Matlacha, visit unique specialty shops, enjoy ART NIGHTS every Friday, and sample the variety of restaurants before and after the bridges to Greater Pine Island.
You'll find Greater Pine Island lives up to its reputation as a fishing community. It boasts several fine restaurants with complete menus - including, of course -fresh fish.
From Pine Island you might want to venture into Cape Coral to catch a movie. For live entertainment, head to downtown Fort Myers or to Barbara B. Mann Theater. Take a day trip down to Fort Myers Beach or book a trip on one of the tour boats leaving from Pine Island to one of the outer islands.
