What a great time we've had! 15 of us were here enjoying this wonderful home for a family reunion. The yard was WONDERFUL for the 6 kids and we spent a couple of late nights around your LONG table playing games. Thank you for having this available for us.

If I needed a home with 7 double occupancy beds, I might choose the Elkhorn again. However, other VRBO homes our family rented have been better equipped and more comfortable. The home was clean and attractive, and situated in a good location, although many appliances and household items were noticeably cheap. Some problems we encountered were: *Upstairs toilet flooded twice and had problems with continuous filling. Two of the three bathrooms were quite basic, with small sinks and almost no counter space to hold grooming items. This arrangement is for those who like to pack their items back and forth from their bedroom to the bathroom each time they have hygiene tasks. I prefer to lay my things out on a bathroom counter top for the duration of my stay somewhere if possible. Bedrooms had no storage, either. Toilet paper was scratchy, one-ply industrial stuff. Ewwww. *Dishwasher was loud and the top rack fell out of its track a few times. *Bedrooms were small and not equipped with dressers or luggage racks. *Temperature regulation was problematic. Some bedrooms were uncomfortably chilly, some hot and stuffy. The house had one thermostat. *Hot tub was nice, but only 3-4 people fit at one time, so our family of 10 had to take turns. Really, for a house so large, the teeny hot tub seems too small. *Some bedding was old, polyester satin sheets that were clammy and uncomfortable to sleep in. Fortunately, there was a spare set in the closet for the queen bed, but the king bed had no other sheets and my brother had to put up with poor quality bedding. Beds were comfortable. *Knives were dull to the degree of being useless. We bought a sharpener, which helped some, but I used my husband's pocketknife for most of my food prep. Kitchen equipment seemed like leftover stuff, although the gas range was very nice. *For our family of 10, the living room was quite small, with inadequate lighting for reading. There was one table lamp and one floor lamp and no overhead lighting. *In the living room, the gas fireplace was quite nice. However, the tv was an older model that did not have a USB port for plugging in my laptop. The only DVD player was upstairs in the master bedroom. *The upstairs linen closet was well stocked with plenty of towels and some spare queen sheets. *The garage door opener remote control did not work at all. Overall, the house had a spare feel, like staying in a dormitory or hostel.
