4 bdr/2 bath home with Three Queens and a double twin bed, with room for cribs or air mattress or cots. Perfect for either a shared or just one family vacation. Three decks with seating and tables, plus a patio with a Gas Grill all overlooking Golf Course and Riparian Woodland, and mountains beyond. House situated to minimize veiw of other houses. No Highway 267, Northstar Dr. or Northstar Village noise. On a cul-de-sac for a peaceful vacation. Updated, well-stocked Kitchen (toaster, coffee maker, crock-pot, can opener, utensils for at least 8, etc.). Eat-in meals are a real money saver for families! We provide all sheets, towels, and paper goods as well as soaps. 2 recently remodeled Baths. Baths have vessel sinks, slate, new fixtures. 1 bath has a Double Shower and 1 with a Jetted, Jacuzzi tub. Decorator paint in a soothing green. Leather Couches and Chairs with Ottomans. Nicely decorated, family and pet friendly.
We have hosted hundreds of guests including an Olympic gold medalist, doctors, lawyers, college professors to name a few. Excellent value! Great savings! We know because we monitor the competition. Able to use the Recreation Center next to the (slight fee for guests). It includes 3 outdoor Hot Tubs (two adults only, one child friendly) well equipped Weight Room, year around outdoor Lap Pool (adults only in Summer); huge Family Pool, children's Wading Pool, children's Splash area, New Play Area with Jungle Gym and Swings, outdoor Barbecues with tables next to creek, 10 Tennis Courts, Teen Center with Video Games, and Sports Court. Adult facility that can be reserved for functions.
As you enter our home you will note the high Two Story open Living Area with south facing picture windows, and Gas Fireplace. Downstairs master bedroom has an attached bathroom. Upstairs are three bedrooms (one dual-use serves as a home office with WiFi) and a second bathroom with two showers. Three decks provide views of the 16th fairway and the surrounding mountains. In the winter you will see families building snowmen, cross country skiers, and children sledding on the golf course. In, Summer and Fall, you can watch the golfers go by as you sip your iced drink on the decks or patio. Or, listen to the birds without constant background noise.
The location is Wooded, but Bright. Relaxing, but within walking distance or a short Free Shuttle Ride to Northstar Village with its new Ritz Carlton Hotel, restaurants, shops, skating rink, live music, bungee jumping, and fire pits. Restaurants include sushi, pizza, fine dining, the Chocolate Bar with everything chocolate, a deli, pasta, burritos and build-it-yourself tacos, etc! 10 minutes by car or shuttle to Lake Tahoe Beaches, Shops, Dining. 15 min to Casinos, 10 min to Quaint Downtown Truckee with more Restaurants, Shops and Dining. At least 10 Public/Semi-private Golf Courses within 20 minutes: Northstar, Coyote Moon, Old Greenwood, Gray's Crossing, Ponderosa, Squaw Valley, Incline Village (2 courses), Brockway, and Tahoe City. Tons more golf within an hours or less drive in the Reno, Carson City area, South Lake Tahoe, Greagle, Portola and Clio!
We also continually make changes to make this an Energy Efficient Home. The architect sited the house to take advantage of passive solar long before it was trendy, we haveuse insulated draperies, have energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs, have used low VOC paint, renewable bamboo flooring, a programmable thermostat, and, as we replace appliances, we buy energystar-rated items. Just pack your bags and come to Northstar!!
Northstar Resort is committed to building a world-class destination resort and has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the village and ski and snowboard facilities. A new Ritz Carlton is opened Dec 19 2009. It is reminiscent of the great ski lodges of Yosemite and Mount Hood. Northstar continues to be ranked among the top family resorts in America by ski magazine and other publications. But Northstar hasn’t forgotten about summer. Northstar has world-class mountain bike terrain. Nearly every summer weekend and thoughout the early fall, they are host to biking related races: the Tour De Nez (June 17-21), GIANT bicycle Demo Days, GIANT for Women Ride and Retreat. Northstar also has numerous Downhill Mountain Bike Races, Cross Country Bike Races and “Super D” Downhill Cross Country Races. Non-professionals can participate in almost all of these races. Northstar offers crafts, golf hiking scenic gondola rides, fly fishing, horseback riding, outdoor movie nights, star gazing tours, live music, skating, and geocaching (finding “treasures” using a GPS). Many of these activities are free or at a nominal price.

this was my 3rd rental in the Northstar area - easily the best; owners were great to work with, everything was exactly as described on the website - bedrooms were awesome (flat-screens above the beds!) - kitchen had everything we needed + more (blender, food processor, mixer) to cook some family-style meals; you get access to an awesome HOA facility/pool/gym (NOPA rec center) - 3 minutes from the mountain and right on the golf course - we will rent here again when we return to Northstar in the winterRecommended for: Pet owners, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Really enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable and the 3 decks look out on a pretty view. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. It was quite warm out but the house stayed cool and even at night there was good ventilation. Would definitely recommend it.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We hosted 8 people for a ski vacation and had a wonderful time. The home is comfortable, the beds are good, the great room is lovely with views of pine trees and on the golf course. The size of the home is just right for that many guests. I was surprised at how well it was supplied with tools for cooking. We enjoyed all of our meals there. The home is well maintained in an upscale neighborhood. The location would be excellent for a golfing vacation or ski holiday. The shuttle service to the lifts, village and recreation center is prompt and made it easy for us to get to the mountain without the hassle of driving. The owner was helpful in making this a memorable stay for our family. I would recommend this home to friends who are looking for a great house, in a beautiful setting with wonderful amenities. We love Northstar and would love to rent the home again.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

Dee and Gordon are very nice people and responsive when we called. Good: The home is in a nice area of Northstar. The snow blowers and equipment come by regularly to clear the roads after it snows. SHuttle to the resort. Cute CA cabin style decor on the walls. Comfortable place to stay. We left the house very clean and they refunded our security deposit very quickly. A good price for the location and number of bedrooms. Bad: Kitchen cabs are almost falling apart, lots of junk in the drawers and it seems like almost every drawer in the house is a junk drawer, we had some plumbing issues during our stay. The cleaners do not do a great job cleaning and we had to clean up a lot of dust bunnies and sticky cereal on the kids' comforters. But we're very clean people who take our shoes off. If you wear your shoes in your house you probably will think it's a clean house. If you have kids you'll be very busy watching them 24/7 since the loft railing has a big space where a kid could fall out. The owners told me about this but I neglected to bring any netting to cover the space so it was stressful constantly having to watch the two year old. You also have to be careful not to trip when you round the corner by the top of the stairs; I could see how a less than careful person could trip and maybe fall down the stairs.Owner response: We agree with the Good - great location, affordable, comfortable and cute house, great value and very attentive owners. We respectively disagree with the Bad regarding cabinets, cleanliness, and most of all a 3 star rating. Immediately upon these guests departure, the house was professionally cleaned by the same service that cleaned before they arrived. The same service we have had for five years with no complaints. Later that day new guests arrived. Upon their departure they told us that they had a very enjoyable vacation and thoroughly enjoyed Norhstar and the accommodations. Their was no mention of any issues with cabinets, junk, plumbing or cleanliness. Their comments are consistent with past guest reviews (a sampling of which is shown under our previous reviews). We also personally visited the property to investigate. We inspected the cabinets, checked the cleanliness and other issues mentioned. None was found consistent with the negative comments posted. As a future guest, you need to draw your own conclusions. We can personally assure you that you will be delighted if you choose our home for your Norhstar Resort vacation and look forward to having you as guests.

About the owner: I am a professional engineer/inventor with patents related to cleaning up the environment and sustainable energy. I grew up in Illinois and Iowa, graduated from the University of Iowa, and now reside in Reno, Nevada. My wife graduated from Cal (the University of California Berkeley) with a degree in Microbiology and advanced degree in medical technology. We have a son who graduated from U. California Davis, attended Oxford, and has completed course work for a pHD in economics and will be finishing his residency in surgery at University of Chicago. His wife graduated from U. Illinois Chicago and teaches clinical Joga. My daughter graduated from U. CA San Diego, is doing a phD desertation in literature Northeastern University, Boston while teaching at Menlo College, CA. My son in Law has finished his masters in bioengineering at MIT and MBA program at Stanford University in Palo Alto and has begun consulting. We lived at Northstar for 4 years and loved every moment.

The choice of Northstar was easy! Both my wife and I love Lake Tahoe. We play golf, hike, swim, fly fish and I ski. Northstar is unique. The new village with over 35 shops and restauants, great snow and mountain bike parks, great views of Lake Tahoe to name a few things we like. No wonder Ritz Carlton Hotel chose Northstar Tahoe Resort as the first West coast four season resort . Oh, did I mention the great location of our house overlooking the 16th fairway of the golf course, not to mention the great furnishings, comfortable pillowtop beds, televisons in every room,completely remodeled full kitchen and bathrooms, WiFi, and leather couch and Morris chairs.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The unique benefits we enjoy at Northstar include double whammy golf and ski passes, use of the recreation center owned and operated by NPOA (Northstar Property Owners Association). The recreation center has Olympic, childrens, and year around lap pools, 3 large hot tubs, weight and sauna, video and games arcade, and multipurpose buildings, championship tennis courts, barbeque and picnic facilities, and childrens playground. Someone has to do this!
