Imagine enjoying a sunset glass of wine on a pool deck overlooking the shimmering blue Caribbean. See the mast of large sailboats that have docked nearby to share your view of the Petit Piton and to enjoy St. Lucia's prized World Heritage site. Colibri (hummingbird in the native language)Cottage has it all-what is believed to be the largest villa pool on the island -perfect for swimming laps or just floating around; lovely flower gardens humming with birds and butterflies; porches and decks for reading or napping. Yet a short drive away there is much to see and do - botanical gardens, a rain forest, hiking, resorts with excellent resturants-even a live volcano. The beach is steps away. Villa is roomy, cozy and comfortable. Everything is brand new!
Colibri Cottage is made up of two adjacent villas. The main villa, with lovely colonial architecture, has two bedrooms with ensuite baths, king sized four poster beds and attractive common areas. The detached two story villa is divided into two apartments each with two bedrooms including beds that flexibly convert from king size to twins, two bathrooms, living room/kitchette and long graceful verandas with cooling ceiling fans and spectacular views. Colibri Cottage is the perfect location for a small, intimate wedding, a family reunion or a group of friends (no more than 12) getting together. It is a quiet, peaceful place perfect for unwinding and relaxing.
A housekeeper and resident grounds keeper will do everything necessary to make your stay pleasant. There is daily cleaning, and bi-weekly linen changes.
A previous owner even hosted Prince Phillip in the main house!

We stayed for 10 days in the lower house of Colibri Villa and it was a wonderful experience. It was just my wife, brother-in-law and his wife, so we occupied the 2 bedrooms in the large lower house, leaving the 4 bedrooms in the upper house un-occupied. By splitting the cost with another couple the price was more reasonable than a hotel on the island. Location near Soufriere cannot be beat. View of Petit Piton is perfect. Access to the beach below is down a rough trail (nearly everything on St Lucia was impacted in a big way 3 years ago by Hurricane Thomas, but the trail is do-able and it's a very, very private, partly rock, partly sand beach. Ocean is very warm everywhere. We rented a car for the last 8 days and enjoyed having our own schedule. A 4 wheel-drive SUV is a great way to go. We hired a National Guide for 1/2 day and he did a custom tour, tailored to our desires. We didn't utilize the included cook, since we tended to leave the villa before she arrived, but it was nice to have her available to us if needed. St Lucia was a memorable trip and we enjoyed every minute. By the way, the frogs are VERY loud on St Lucia, so if having some quiet when you go to bed is a must (you get used to them), then just bring earplugs. 3 of us didn't wear earplugs and still slept fine, I DID wear earplugs (I do at home, too) and I also slept great. We were very pleased with the condition of the property, great open veranda, screening on the windows, great parking for the car, onsite gardener (security), etc. The grounds are beautiful and have not only an abundance and variety of flowering plants, but also many kinds of fruit bearing trees, including banana, mango, papaya, lemon, grapefruit, breadfruit, and more. Febornia sets up whatever you like in any regard. I highly recommend having her arrange a taxi to drive you from the airport to the house, even if you plan to rent a car. even with their excellent written directions, you may not find the villa. It's not like there is a rectangular grid of streets laid out with street signs and addresses on every house. But, once you get there and have the rental car delivered to your door, it's easy to drive away and get familiar with the island (as long as you ALWAYS remember to drive on the left). We drove the car to the airport at the end of our trip, which after 8 days of driving, was easy to do. We ate in the house for most meals, but did eat at SugarBeach Resort & Boucan, Rabot Estate.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My husband and I had a romantic idyllic getaway last May and could not have been more delighted with our week long stay at Colibri. It is impossible to capture the beauty and atmosphere of a place like Colibri with a few photographs. The grounds are kept immaculate and we were utterly charmed by the hummingbirds and butterflies. The cottage is kept spotless by Livinia and Sylvia and there were no bugs. We felt perfectly safe with the gardener Randal being on site. We brought Livinia into Soufriere a few times for food shopping and she knew exactly where to go for the best buys. We would not have made such good choices without her. There was no need to go out for dinner as Livinia whipped up the greatest lunches . Since it was just the two of us and the portions were so generous, we just reheated the rest for dinner and were perfectly content. We brought our IPODS and danced on the terrace under the stars. The sixty foot infinity pool with its majestic view of the Petit Piton was to die for! We swam a mile each day and had to kick ourselves to get out. The lounge chairs and parasols were just perfect. The property manager FEBS is a rare jewel-a most extra-ordinary woman who goes out of her way to ensure that your stay on St Lucia is beyond compare. We long to return to this paradise on earth and have no hesitation in recommending this outstanding property. A big thank you to the owners for letting us have a most memorable stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Though here because of a double-booking at La Petite Fleur, we are so happy to have experienced an extraordinary home, Livinia’s cuisine, Sylvia’s care, knowing Randal was on site. The setting, the view, the boats and ships, pool and gardens, resident birds, the residents of Soufriere, places to visit, eat and learn about the special tropical horticulture… Cell combine to make our visit spectacular. Thank you for making it all possible and available. “No problem” Arthur and Maria PS Not to mention getting away from the snow in Brooklyn, where our Kids live! Why Soufriere:
The area around Sourfriere is gorgeous. We love to view the Pitons while sitting by the pool. The hiking is fun. We are close to the sandy beaches of the Jalousie Resort. The weather is fine year round. It is a wonderful, relaxing get away from the 'real' world of jobs and snow. It's a great family get away for our children and now grandchildren. They love to visit during the holidays.
