My husband and I have stayed at the Maple Cottage twice this past fall. Beautiful area of Tallahassee with an easy drive into the city. The owners were very friendly and easy to accommodate and answer questions. We were close enough to visit Havana, FL and Thomasville, GA to explore the many great shops.. The cottage is nicely furnished and has a completely stocked kitchen and two porches to have some coffee and watch the birds. We will return to this little slice of Heaven!

First of all, the communication with the owner was excellent, when you are trying to book something from out of state your are a little leary of everything anyway but D.R. made you fell secure and welcome about the decision to stay at her location. The impressions of the home when you walk inside is clean and coozy. The two bath 3 bedroom really fit our needs with four of us flying in and a college student that would be staying with us while we were in town. We really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the cottage after leaving the hustle and bustle of the homecoming weekend for famu. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone that is interested except when i am in town because i would want it for me.....lol

A rare find.
A rare find.
If you are looking for a wonderful escape in the country, yet close to town, this is the place to stay. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sits on a one acre lot that is surrounded by trees and a big open front yard. Inside you will find a split bedroom plan that insures privacy, a step saver kitchen, and a wonderful screened porch on the front, so you can relax and visit after a busy day. If you like to Bar-B-Que, the outdoor grill will serve all of you cooking needs, and if you like to hear the sounds of nature, open the windows at night and listen to the crickets sing their songs of joy. The owners are very nice and keep this secluded cabin in the woods in good condition.

About the owner: The owner has an interesting story in that she was born in the Netherlands, grew up in Canada and has lived in Tallahassee for the last 35 years where her children grew up. The Dutch background spells the importance of cleanliness; the Canadian background spells the gift of hospitality; and the south spells relaxed and casual. So the 3 C's: cleanliness, comfortable and cozy best describes what you will find in each of the 3 M's: Mulberry, Magnolia and Maple cottages. The owner has made lots of good memories on this 3 acre property. We stay here to celebrate various holidays with our 10 grandchildren. The space outside has room for outdoor games and cookouts and the cottages are comfortable and cozy
Why the Owner Chose Tallahassee:
This property provides a place for me to enjoy my gardening hobby. I have planted many flowers, shrubs, fruit trees so that there is something blooming and something to eat year round. During the winter the oranges are delicious and a great way to start the morning. In addition there are lemons, kumquats, figs, loquats, persimmons and even some blackberries and mulberries growing. The camellias are growing and will start flowering in December so there is plenty to see and enjoy.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This cottage is in the city but it feels like country with the woods all around and convenient hiking trails. Yet it is just 2 miles from lots of major restaurants and shopping
