This newly-built and beautifully furnished 2 bedroom, 3 bath home Is located on a deep-water canal with dock, lift and quick and easy access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico, and can accommodate 4 to 6 people. Tom & Susan Shaffer have lived in Boca Grande for over thirty years, and established Shaffer Building Repair, Inc. as a trademark on the island. Their construction company specializes in historic remodel work, but also does new building, which led them to their project at 135 Damfiwill Street. Susan is also a potter and paper maker and her work adorns the rental house. They have raised two children on the island, and enjoy boating, beaching and travel.

This property was a very pleasant surprise! We came intending to stay one week and added a couple of extra nights ... would have stayed more if schedules had allowed! The owners were prompt with correspondence, attentive to detail, even stopped over on arrival night to make sure we were satisfied. They obviously love their home and it shows! Everything was in good condition and working order, the home was amazingly clean, furnishings and decor are very tasteful. Close proximity to beach, shops, restaurants is wonderful. We rented a golf cart from Caddy Carts - great idea! Fishing on the beach was fantastic. We even made use of the canoe in the canals and harbor. Our stay was so relaxing and enjoyable ... thank you, Tom & Susan!

This delightful property lives up to its description. It is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Furnishings are contemporary and well looked after, bathrooms are clean and functional, kitchen is well appointed and equipped, TV's are in all rooms and the home has wifi. Space might be limited for larger parties but it's easily roomy enough for 4 adults. The layout of the home involves plenty of stairs, including a narrow spiral staircase to the top floor so guests with mobility issues or small kids, might want to reconsider. The dock at the back is functional and outside space is generally limited but with the beach and town only a few minutes stroll away this doesn't present an issue. We've stayed at Boca Grande three times now, twice at this property, and we find its location and layout ideal for us.It's on a quiet cul-de-sac but an easy stroll away from bars, shops, eateries and beaches, all served by excellent cycle and walking lanes so, once you are there, the car is more or less redundant. The owners are local so they are attentive and extremely helpful without being intrusive. Deposits are returned promptly. If you like to set your own pace and get away from it all, without sacrificing a few luxuries, then this property might be the one you are looking for....but keep it to yourself, we want to go back next year!

Stayed at this great house during 4th of July weekend and everything exceeded our expectations. Convenience of having boat lift and dock made the week even more pleasureable. Owners were available when needed and very friendly and accomodating.. South Beach Grille is a must go to for lunch, appetizers, or dinner--great food and atmosphere, right on the beach. This home is perfect for 2-3 couples or a family with its 3 separate floors, all which have full baths. House is well equipped too with washer/dryer, microwave, beach towels,linens and anything else you would find in a hotel room. Can't wait to go back! Make sure you rent a golf cart at Caddy Carts too--you won't need your automobile in this quaint little village.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

Stayed at this home a couple different times last Summer. Meticulously maintained! Great place for two couples vacation or a fishing trip. The canal is incredibly convenient to Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande Pass. Well equipped, just bring your suitcase.. I recommend renting a golf cart, its the best way to explore the Island.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. It was a beautiful place to spend our honeymoon. Very upscale and nicely done. The dock and boat lift worked great for our boat. The location was perfect for us. We dreamed of buying the property, but are not in the market right now. The homeowners made special effort that everything went smoothly. Boca Grande was also a great place to get married by the way. The off-season was a great time to be on the island, we almost had the island to ourselves. The restaurant choices were limited, but reccommend South Beach.

The place is adorable - very comfy and beautifully furnished. The kitchen has absolutely everything. The bedrooms/den all have TVs. The boat lift was a bonus. Easy access down the canal and out to the Bay in a few minutes. Marina is right around the corner for fuel, bait, etc. We also brought our bikes - Boca Grande has the best bike paths! We will definiitely rent again.

We just returned home from a week-long stay at this lovely home. There were 5 of us including 2 teenage girls and an older teen boy and there was plenty of room. In fact, our nephew loved his own space in the lower floor guest suite. We brought our 23 foot boat and fished for tarpon every day. The kids tooled around the island in the golf cart and the location of the house near the cart/bike trail and so close to the beach and town was awesome. Everything in the houe was spotless and new. As an owner of a rental property myself, I can appreciate the care that these ownders have taken in furnishing and decorating this home. It is comfortable and convenient and the perfect place to spend a Boca Grande vacation. We'll definitely be back!

Spent two weeks in this lovely home. Very well equipped - great for two couples - so convenient to town you can walk. Great place to stay if you bring a boat.
