  I am a native Puerto Rican now living in California. Went back to surprise my mother and grandmother. Jose (the owner) received me and my daughters at the airport like we were old family members. The house was incredilbe to say the least. VERY Clean and spaciouse. Absolutely the best rental I've ever stayed in. I would honestly recommend this home a million times to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Puerto Rico and the hospitality Puerto Ricans offer.

  My sister rented the whole house for all of us to share (3 couples). We were picked up at the cruise port and transported to the house. The person that took us to the house could not get the door to open (and it was a problem the whole time). Once inside we were quite pleased. It is dated but fairly nice. Then the person told us that we would not be able to use the stove in one of the units. We looked around and found that the fridge in that unit was also not plugged in and we did not know if it worked or not so we left it. That was ok since we had another full kitchen. The pool was nice looking but unusable since it was covered with a layer of white bugs and not running (filter, etc). The guys in our group wandered all over to locate the switch and finally found a raggedy, scary electrical set-up down the back steps. It still did not clean the pool although it was a nice waterfall into the pool. The toilet did not work in the upper bedroom - it leaked a lot, all the time, and had to be shut off. Neither the sink or shower in that bath had hot water. The back, left bedroom had a bath but it also had no hot water. So, 6 people used one shower. When we tried to cook that first morning, the stove blew flames out everywhere and even blew the drawer underneath it open. Had my husband not pulled my sister out of the way, she may have been hurt. We then had no stove at all. We used the grill to finish cooking breakfast. It ran out of gas as we finished. The other grill ran out of gas after our first dinner. The dryer (coin operated) took forever to dry so we ended up hanging up clothes. The 4th "bedroom" is a small room with a tv and futon that has the only access from the main area to the pool and patio. It had no privacy as a bedroom. Do not rent a car from them!They rented us a van that bottomed out and scraped the ground at any slight bump, had one non working seat and was dirty for way more money than the new van we ended up renting at Hertz. Where was the maintenance or management? The place should have been ready for rental - clean, maintained and in working order prior to our arrival. The pool should have been on and clean. Appliances full and working. Hot water and toilets are basic needs and should be top priority! So, beware before renting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Owner response: The problem with the house was not under our control. Once there was nobody in the house we fixed the swimming pool, water lique,stove and the heater. Everything is on control this are things that happens .

  In June of 2007 My husband and I spent our honeymoon at this property. It was wonderful! We loved the private pool with its views of the rain forest and the sound of the coqui in the evenings! Although the property is secluded, it is just a few minutes drive from many fun things to do. I can also echo the many nice things already posted about Jose as a host. Jose gave us the red carpet treatment - providing many of the service conveniences of a hotel stay but with the privacy of a rental home.

  We received a 2 stars over all, for an incident that happen at the pool area ,first the deck is cool deck of stone very hard to slip, kids run and horse playing are looking to have accident and getting hurt, one of the rules that is written in the contract tha children must be under costant supervision by adults. We went out of our way to help our guess, to bad they gives us so low revew,

  My first day there my grandson slipt on water on deck had to get 6 stitches,so just be careful it's very easy to fall.The teens had a ball in the pool they went to the beach near by. The girls went outlet shopping so they had a blast to.

  My husband and I just spent 8 glorious days in the Rain Forest Retreat Home. Mr. Jose and his niece were very accomodating, they picked us up and droped us off at the airport, they checked in on us during our stay. They home is quite, beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed the pool in the mornings and evenings after our activities. We were about 10 minutes from the rain forest, which was breathtaking. We were 5 minutes from the Casino Wyndham Rio Mar. Beautiful beaches in all directions from the home. Farjardo is about 15 minute drive which is where you can take Kayaking trips, boat trips or catch the Ferry to Vieques or Culebra islands. Plenty of shopping and outlet malls near by, as well as grocery stores within 10 minutes of the house. Mr. Jose home was so relaxing, plenty of patio space to enjoy the peaceful evening and listen to the frogs that sing in the night. Great location for a great price which allows families to afford a wonderful time in the beautiful Puerto Rico. We are definitely going back and will not look elsewhere to stay, other than this Rain Forest Retreat. Thank you Mr. Jose for such a wonderful anniversary time, for the roses you bought for me and my husband's 25th and for opening up your beautiful home for people to experience. We look forward to our return next year!!

  "We traveled with our 3 young adult children. We enjoyed this property very much since it gave us enough room to spread out and yet be together. The home was very nice, very comfortable, everything the website promised, great pool area, right next to the rainforest. We were able to grill and cook several meals there which saved costs. Jose (the owner) wanted to be sure that we had a nice time, providing info on sights, restaurants, where to shop. He picked us up from the airport and provided a car. When we had a minor engine problem, he got us a new car by the next morning. He was available for questions, knows the area very well and is very entertaining to talk with. I would recommend this property to families or those who want to explore more than just the beaches. It is right next to El Yunque Rainforest, a short drive to San Juan, and as well as short drive to the beaches. Prices in the area were very reasonable, very comparable to our hometown in restaurants, groceries, etc. "

  My family and I visited Don Jose's house in August of 2009. To begin, Don Jose is an exceptional host and the house is amazing. Clean, incredibly comfortable and equipped with all you will need for a stay away from home. We felt so comfortable! He is only a phone call away if you need him but at the same time he allows you the privacy you need while in "your home". The views are breathtaking and the pool is a plus. Minutes away from El Yunque and close to town... We can't wait to go back. Thank you Don Jose! Jeannie and Family (Miami)

  I reside in Croatia with my wife and kids, my wife is Croatian and i wanted to show her and my kids my isla. We rented this retreat for a week with a car included at a bargain. As soon we walked in this home we were amazed!!! It had everything you needed,clean,quiet and very safe. We just fell in loved with this home. My wife and kids felt at home the moment we walked in, pool,grill music and the sounds of the forest. The owner was a phone call away for anything you needed. I wanted to show my wife all of my Puerto Rico but she didn't want to leave this home the whole week we stayed , she felt Puerto Rico thru this beautiful retreat.   We were delighted with this beautiful home in Rio Grande Puerto Rico. We had several families staying together in this roomy, well appointed, comfortable, very clean rain forest get-away and it was a bargain. We felt welcomed by Jose and pampered all week long. We could get to the beach conveniently, or go hiking in the rain forest, or ferry to the islands or go back into San Juan easily but we also enjoyed just staying "home" too because we could lounge out by the beautiful private pool, listening to the birds and frogs, cooking out on the spacious patio. The weather was wonderful with a little rain and lots of sun every day. We hope to return soon to this wonderful place to spend a week in Puerto Rico and we highly recommend it.

$ 1,700.00 a week. 6 nights,7 days,each apartments, full house $1500.00 per week.Cancellation Policy   If  you canceled 90 days prior to you arrival, we charge $50.00, if your cancellation were from 90 to 30 days prior of your arrival, the charge would be one (1) night, if your cancellation is 30 days or less to your arrival we keep the entire deposit.For reservation need to pay 50% up front and the other 50% upon arrival.  If pay  the total rent up front it be a 5 % discount.
