This is a delightful little cottage that offers 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. This home offers the chance for a great vacation on a smaller budget. Enjoy all the comforts of home with phone service, cable, TV/ DVD player, laundry facilities, full kitchen, wood burning stove, 2 car garage, and of course all linens are provided.
The home sits back from the ocean with good views of the water from the front room and front deck. First bedroom has a queen bed. The other has a double bed and a twin bed. The futon in the front room can also be used to sleep extras. Home sleeps 7 in a tight squeeze but is better suited to 4 or 5. A crib, high chair, picnic table, and BBQ grill are on site. Beach access is just a short walk down a grassy hill. There is a sandy beach for walking, but the tide zone is extremely rocky. It makes it a great place for tide pooling, rock hunting, and sandcastle building, but not a good beach for swimming. There are several other beaches nearby that provide better swimming opportunities, or the Chetco River which is a local favorite.
The areas surrounding Brookings, Oregon has an abundance of fantastic outdoor recreation. Fishing, boating, and hiking are just a few of the many things to do. There are several groves of Redwoods within a 20 minute drive, or head down to Redwood National Park to spend a whole day exploring these giant trees. Just up the coast is the opportunity to go horse riding on the beach. If you are looking for a little less fun and more relaxation, there are many good walking beaches in the area. After an easy stroll come back home, light a fire and enjoy the company of those around you while listening to the ocean murmuring in the distance.
