The back deck area includes a new stunning natural stone wall with seating area and large stone fireplace and amazing outdoor lighting (7 different lighting systems all on dimmers to create the perfect setting). There is a brand new large stainless steel Weber Genesis 330 Gas Grill. The hand carved french doors that lead into the back deck were purchased from an old Pebble Beach mansion located next to the famous 'Lone Cypress Tree'. It is a great place to have an outdoor dinner party or cocktail party or just enjoy a beverage by the fire. It's gorgeous.
There is a conveniently located enclosed patio for your pets to safely play. The house also has a sizeable doggy door for pet access. Just down the street is a wonderful dog walk called the 'Congress Avenue Dog Walk' where locals bring their dogs for afternoon walks. A true delight for dog lovers.

We are frequent visitors to the Monterey area and happened upon this house via VRBO and couldn’t have been any happier. We stayed in the house for a surprise family gathering for my wife’s 50th birthday and it was just beautiful. The house is very unique and we enjoyed our time here very much. It is in a great location and it accommodated all of my family members with great comfort. The view from the master suite was incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed the outside patio areas, especially the rooftop area off of the large family room upstairs – WOW what a view! The gardens surrounding this home are so tranquil and peaceful and we even got to see a few deer strolling thru the neighborhood one morning! The kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms were great! We would definitely return to this great home on one of our next trips back to Monterey. A very enjoyable time here, Thank you again for allowing us to enjoy your home for this very special gathering.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the wonderful review. Please come again and spread the good word.

We had a great time in this Pacific Grove house! It is an original and it is fun to explore. I tried to come up with a few things that perhaps other people have not already covered in the rave reviews. I really like that the house is set up in a way that you can sleep in while folks are in the main gathering parts of the house. Dan has lots of interesting antiques and books and comfortable beds. It was a great location for car travel, had good separation of spaces, entertainment options and a well equipped kitchen. It worked great for us and was a good value!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Inger for your wonderful comments. Please spread the good word and come again to beautiful PG.

This is the first time our family had ever booked a Vacation home, and I would do it again, only because Dan the owner is amazing at any accommodations, he is prompt at getting back to you with any questions during your stay and the house is fully prepared! The Kitchen has anything and everything for your stay and the house and view are super clean let alone all furnished very nicely and comfortable! Once you stay here you will not want to leave:) My family had the best bonding time, took the best pictures and made the best meals in Dans Vacation home, it is nice and cozy and RELAXING. Everyone needs to know about places like this, you will leave Pacific Grove Happier then when you arrived. The home is very central and has shopping centers right around the corner, there is a dog park close by and the house is very dog friendly! It was our first time taking our boxer puppies with us on a vacation and they absolutely loved the home, there is even a doggy door! It does't get any better then Dans house and hospitality and we WILL be going time and time again as a annual family tradition now:) Hope you can book and enjoy this get away as much as we did!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. Your comments absolutely inspire me to continue to try and delight my guests. Thanks so much. You made my day!!!

I first contacted the owner about this property for a last minute stay. Even though my first request wasn't available, the owner responded to my inquiry quickly and worked with me over the next few days so my group of seven could stay in his home. Communicating with the owner was a breeze, and he was very thorough in his requests, directions, etc. Let me just say that the photos for this listing don't do the home or property justice. The home is GORGEOUS and impeccably kept. The home was spotless upon our arrival, and literally everything you could want was available to you. There were plenty of linens, towels, pillows, blankets, beds, dishes, cookware, etc to supply a small army. The stove cooked a meal for seven like a dream, the hot tub was toasty warm, the beds were super comfortable, and the technological "amenities" were no joke! The lighting throughout the home was a bit confusing (lights everywhere, with the ability to dim just about all of them!), but when I spoke with the owner, he immediately added instructions so the next visitors wouldn't have any questions. I wish I could have stayed in the home longer, but sadly I was only able to stay for a short weekend. I will definitely consider this home the next time I want to do a quick getaway. Monterey/Cannery Row is a mere five minutes away, the beach is right around the corner, and Safeway is about a two minute drive. Perfect all around. Thanks for a GREAT experience! I HIGHLY recommend this property!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the kind words. Please come again!

I used the word "experience" instead of HOME, because it truly was more than just a place to stay!! We spent 3 short days (not enough time) enjoying being a family at this amazing place. It was an experience because there is so much character and opportunity for priceless time together (we call it FFB...Forced Family Bonding..haha!) especially in that beautiful back yard. We had such great conversations out there as we roasted marshmallows for S'mores and sat around that gorgeous outdoor fireplace. The home itself was so perfectly prepared for a family to walk right in and settle in! We have four teenagers and completely took it over and ALL were comfortable. The huge family/TV room was an awesome gathering place for games and down time. The kitchen....amazing and FULLY stocked. So many unique touches and cool details give the home a ton of character. The location is perfect...seriously 5 minutes to almost anything you could need or want...Asilomar beach sunset, delicous unique bakery, unparalleled look at God's amazing creatures at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, movie theatre, great restaurants...I could go on and on!! Dan is an excellent partner in the process because he is so detail-oriented and eager to make sure your stay is everything you want it to be and extremely efficient in the booking process. You will LOVE this "experience" AND this home :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much. Glad you all had a great time.

We had a wonderful time staying at this house. The pictures online don't do it justice. It has plenty of space and yet is very cozy and quaint. The front yard and two side courtyards are beautiful. The ocean views from all around the house are wonderful. It has everything you could possibly need (plenty of towels & linens and a well stocked kitchen). It is convienently located next to everything you could possibly want. I highly recommend renting this property. We were said to leave and really missed the hot tub once we got home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: So glad you all enjoyed yourselves. Please come stay again.

My girlfriends and I had a great time staying in Dan's place in Pacific Grove. It was wonderfully conducive to good talking, great cooking and fun. The windows let in plenty of light and beautiful views, the seating was very comfy and the garden was beautiful and restful with quite a variety of birds. The fanciest Jacuzzi I have ever seen was a big hit too. The beds were also very comfortable and we each enjoyed the unique decorating in all the rooms. The largest upstairs room is kind of a bonus room with a full bathroom. It was great for extra sleeping arrangements and would of been fun to hang out in, but we never got that far from the kitchen. = ) It is situated up on a hill, so not as easy to walk downtown or to the beach unless you are in decent shape, or only go one way, as did some of our group. But the height did afford a great view of the trees and ocean in the distance. My friends and I are hoping to go back next year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed here for four nights this fall and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and perfectly equipped with everything you'll need. The kitchen is amazing and fully stocked with all the instruments needed to cook delicious meals on the professional grade Viking stove or large outdoor grill. We cooked meals each night and ate outside on the patio next to the outdoor fire place. The house is beautifully decorated and yet very comfortable as well - cozy couches and gorgeous furniture. The house's modern entertainment systems are great as well with speakers throughout the house. The home has fabulous lighting which truly adds to the ambiance. Best of all may be the 8 person hot tub right outside on the patio, fully equipped with a sound system as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will certainly rent the house again to explore the area further . PG is a wonderful town and there are great beaches all over, Carmel is just down the road, and Monterey is even closer. I would recommend a day visiting Point Lobos State Reserve just south of Carmel and then a trip to Monterey Fish Company on the pier to see the Sea Lions and then buy fresh caught halibut to cook a delicious meal back at the house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: It thrills me when guests really enjoy the house. I continue to add upgrades all the time and am doing so currently. Thanks very much for the wonderful comments.

Here is a list of why I would rent this property again: 1) Great location near everything worth seeing in Pacific Grove. 2) Nicely remodeled throughout. 3) Top quality furnishings(Style not suited for everyone), dishes, washer/dryer, hot tub, appliances, etc. 4) Strange layout and floorplan but oddly appealing. 5) HUGE bonus room upstairs great for hanging out. 6) Beautiful patio/fireplace area. 7) Very nice owner. The only negative for us was the baby grand piano due to the fact that the living room is on the small side. I would rent this property again in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
