The views from this cabin will stop you in your tracks. Sunrises, Sunsets and the moonlit cliffs are truly magical. The Chalk Cliffs are surely captivating.
The cabin is outfitted with everything, immaculate and completely inviting. The 3 bedrooms all have Queen sized beds, big fluffy pillows, quilts and beautiful linens. There is a dining room next to our fully equipped kitchen. The back deck has a giant gas grill, another dining table and more birds eye views of the cliffs, valley and mountains.
It's a fisherman's paradise though our guests include avid hikers, bikers, kyakers, artists, all around adventurers, and wild life. The Colorado trail is just down the road. For those collecting 14'ers, the Mt. Princeton Trail head is a 5 minute drive. Monarch Ski Area is 40 minutes away. The Mt. Princeton Hot Springs are just a mile away. We certainly recommend a massage there.

We stayed at Nikki's cabin for our honeymoon last winter and had a wonderful time! The views were beautiful, the deer plentiful and it was a short hop to the Mt Princeton Hot Springs which is always a treat. During the winter I would also recommend a snowmobile tour up on Cottonwood.Pass. We used a company out of BV (forgot the name). Nikki made us feel special with personal touches and her cabin was so cozy and romantic. We hope to go back for our anniversary!

I spent four summers in Colorado Springs in my 20's attending Young Life Insitiute. We traveled every weekend we had a chance to "Puny Bueny" for visits to Frontier Ranch and Silver Cliff. I am very thankful for the week we spent last year at Niki's place, revisiting Mt. Princeton and the Arkansas (not Arkansaw) river. Things have changed quite a bit in Buena Vista (for the better). I especially enjoyed watching the rafters as I have become an avid kayaker back home in New England. Thanks Nicki, for the oportunity to relive some of the best times of my youth with my children and grandchildren.

We had a wonderful time staying in the cabin. We were there in the winter and went to the hot springs which were fantastic. The accomodations were lovely, clean, and just the right size for our party of five. The cabin is beautifully decorated, and the views were breathtaking.

Nikki's cabin is a bit of heaven on the mountainside. There are beautiful views of the valley & Chalk Cliffs. The covered back deck is perfectly placed to capture this beauty. Between the views from this deck and the hummingbirds, we would have been happy to spend our whole weekend there. However, the beauty of the area draws you out. There is incredible hiking starting right outside the cabin, explore ghost towns & pioneer cemeteries, visit the art stores in Salida, and, after a long day, soak in the hot springs at Mt. Princeton. Visiting Nikki's cabin feels like visiting a friend's home. From oriental rugs on the floor to photos of rock stars on the wall, this is definitely not your typically rental cabin. Nikki's use of quirky antiques & art gives the cabin a magical feel. We loved staying at Nikki's cabin so much that we returned with the kids. There was so much to do with them-horseback riding, fishing, hiking and swimming. We cooked/barbequed some incredible meals. At night, we roasted marshmallows at the fire pit and marveled at the views of the stars, the chalk cliffs and the valley. We look forward to our next stay at Nikki's cabin.

We have stayed at this cabin many times and each time is better. We've celebrated New Year's Eve and the fourth of July here. Everything from cross country skiing to biking is out the door or down the road. We ALWAYS go to the hot springs, we love going at night. Our kids, and dogs, love it there. We play games, listen to music, have a campfire, and just enjoy company. All of this while enjoying the awesome views of the Chalk Cliffs. We are avid campers and travellers, and this is one of our favorite places. My one wish is to be able to bring any out of state friends and family here. The pictures and reviews won't come close to doing this place the justice it deserves. Go stay, you'll love it!!!
