Our newly built and professionally decorated five bedroom, four and 1/2 bath home was specifically designed to luxuriously accommodate multiple families. We are conveniently located in the heart of Cape Fear Station, just one block away from the Turtle Conservancy. The beach access at Captain Charlie's Station is just 100 yards away, and the Shoals Club is about one minute away by golf cart. From Federal Road, turn left onto South East Beach Drive, then take the first left onto Wash Woods Way (we are three houses up from South East Beach Drive).
We have a fully equipped kitchen with top of the line appliances for the gourmet cook. Our inviting home sleeps 12 people comfortably. We have three master bedroom suites, each with a queen bed and an attached full bath. The fourth bedroom is fitted with two built-in bunk beds and floor space for additional children, creating the perfect kids’ room. The fifth bedroom has two twin beds. The family room provides a central meeting area and includes a flat screen TV, stereo, DVD/VCR player, and games, books and movies for family entertainment. In addition, two master bedrooms and the fifth bedroom have their own TVs.
A spacious screened in porch creates a perfect outdoor dining space or relaxing retreat at the end of the day. Two golf carts, one 6-seater and one 4-seater, are provided for your use. Eight beach chairs and four boogie boards are available.
We provide free temporary membership to the Bald Head Island Club and the Shoals Club. The Bald Head Island Club’s amenities include golf course, pool, fitness center, tennis courts, playground, and informal and formal dining. The Shoals Club, which is minutes from our home, features a spectacular pool overlooking the Point, beach access, a fitness center, and fine dining. We particularly enjoy this ocean front pool with our children. Please note that we have recently upgraded our Bald Head Island Club membership to provide our renters with access to the golf course!

Why the Owner Chose Bald Head Island
Bald Head Island is an extraordinary place. The physical beauty of its beaches, forests, and maritime preserves is unmatched. The wildlife is astonishing and the fresh air is rejuvenating. But most of all, we love the quiet and relaxed pace of the island. Staying on Bald Head is like travelling back in time to our own childhoods, when things were much simpler. Children can just be children - playing outside all day, swimming until their fingers are wrinkled like raisins, climbing a tree, flying a kite, riding their bikes and scooters around the neighborhood. They seem to grow more during our time on Bald Head -- physically from the fresh air, exercise and great food; emotionally from the freedom. Bald Head's beaches are gorgeous, but the abundant simple pleasures are what make this island truly exceptional.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our home is in a fantastic location on the island. We're in the heart of Cape Fear Station, one of Bald Head's premiere neighborhoods. We chose this spot because of its proximity to the things we love most about Bald Head - the Shoals Club, East Beach, and the Turtle Conservancy. Our children love walking over to the Turtle Conservancy, which is only a block away. We often walk up to South Beach at Captain Charlie's Station in the evenings after dinner to catch sand crabs or talk a long walk. On hot summer days, we like to load up our golf carts with beach charis, coolers, and other supplies, and head up to East Beach for the day. It's only about a minute away by golf cart, so once we've set up camp, we can go back and forth to the house all day to restock our food supply, use the restroom, or take little ones home for naps. The Shoals Club is our other favorite destination on hot summer days. Between the beautiful pools and the enormous beaches, you can stay all day and never run out of things to do. Having lunch at the Shoals Club - or better yet dinner as the sun is setting over the water - is a real treat. We're also very close to Middle Island, where we love to go crabbing or exploring. We also like to take a canoe through the island's pristine waterways, or rent a motorboat and go out on the water for the day. As many times as we've been to Bald Head, we always leave wanting more!

Our home is owned by two families: the Pollards from Richmond, VA and the Walkers from Potomac, MD. The husbands have been friends since Kindergarten; the wives were college roomates and have been friends ever since. Our two families have a very special friendship, which is reflected in the wonderful home we've created together. We fell in love with Bald Head the first time we saw it, and our families vacationed there together for many years before we decided to take the plunge and build our own home. Between us we have 7 children, and we never found a home that had enough bedrooms for our group! Now we have the perfect island retreat, where our children can enjoy the simple pleasures of a long summer vacation and we can escape from the busy world for a little while. We love our Bald Head Island home, and we love sharing it with people who appreciate the beauty and sanctuary that Bald Head offers.
