My husband and I traveled to Kauai for the first time this past April. We stayed in the the condo for 4 nights an dit was amazing! The pictures don't do it justice. The condo is BEAUTIFUL! Granite countertops, high ceilings, a wall of windows looking out on the Lanai with ocean views. We had family staying at the Hyatt next door ( which is literally steps away) and they were jealous. They paid over $500 a night for their rooms! When my step mom saw the beautiful shower, she said "this is bigger than my shower at the hotel!". We bought some groceries ay the local store, had breakfast every morning on the Lanai. It was so nice to not have to be worried about being bothered by housekeeping and it felt so relaxed, not to mention less expensive than eating at the hotel for every meal. We used the cooler, beach chairs and umbrella that came with the condo (what a nice bonus!) every time we went to the beach! This is a wonderful place and I will stay here anytime we are in Kauai!!

My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time at your Poipu Sands condo. In the morning we had breakfast on the balcony and were privy to whales breaching!! Then took a small walk down to the beach to see Sea Turtles! There is a lot to do in South Kauai and we did most of everything; hiking, helicopter ride, sitting by the beach and enjoying a wonderful dinner at nearby Roy's Hawaiian and an incredible lunch at the Tortilla Republic. Your condo is conveniently located to everything and nicely appointed with all the comforts of home but yet felt like a resort! We are excited to have found your place as we are already discussing our next trip to Kauai!

Beautiful, clean, well appointed. Beautiful view of the ocean and a walking path to Shipwreck Beach. Very comfortable, well lit, and well maintained. Property is immaculate, very clean pool, and great Weber grills available. I loved the quiet and respectful neighbors. The water is too rough to swim in front of the facility, and Shipwreck Beach is a only for the hearty. But a 5 minute drive will bring you to places for swimming and snorkeling. The owner contacted me prior to my stay with excellent suggestions. She made me feel very welcome and obviously showed the pride she has in her property. We loved our stay here and hope to return. I would once again seek out this property for my vacation stay in Kauai.

We spent the week before Thanksgiving at this condo and had a relaxing, quiet stay. As a property, Poipu Sands is spectacular. The pool and amenities on the property were exceptionally maintained - just like this unit! We have been renting "higher-end" units in Poipu for over 10 years- usually direct ocean front - and found this unit to be the best one yet. The owners keep the unit in excellent condition, provide very elegant, quality furnishing and amenities and were very accessible if need be. The laniai alone is worth coming back for. For the rental price, it's hard to believe one could find a better value. We will definitely return to this unit at Poipu Sands!

Walking in the door for the first time told us everything we needed to know about this condominium. The decor, the cleanliness, the amenities..... Everything was exactly the way we would have requested it to be. The location is great. The environment is beautiful, and the owners of the unit are an absolute delight to deal with. This is an absolute no-brainer. You simply won't get a better value for your money!

My wife and I had a lovely one week stay here to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. Leesa, the condo owner, was extremely helpful. The website, pictures and description, were right on target. The condo was impeccably cleaned and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, flatware, cookware, etc. The furnishings were comfortable and very attractive -- well suited for a tropical paradise setting. The parking was abundant and the grounds of the Po'ipu Sands are immaculate. The buildings are separated sufficiently to offer privacy, excellent views, and afford ample cooling from the prevailing breeze (a luxury not available at all the condo complexes in the area). The place was so quiet and peaceful. The beautiful view of the ocean from the third floor lanai was a perfect setting for coffee and breakfast in the morning and wine during the evenings. We probably spent more time on the expansive lanai than inside the condo. The continuous sound of the waves breaking on Shipwreck's Beach and the refreshing tradewinds were exactly what we had in mind when planning our vacation. For those that may be concerned about the lack of air conditioning, don't be -- it was so comfortable. The location in the Po'ipu area is great. The weather is the best on the island. It is a short walk to three great beaches that each offer a little something different (surfing/boogie boarding, snorkeling, or swimming with small children). The restaurants, bars, and shopping opportunities are abundant and varied. The Old Town Koloa is a gem and only 3 miles away. Watching sunsets and sunrises from convenient locations on Po'ipu Kai was a treasure. We highly recommend this condo to anyone planning to stay on Kaua'i. You will be staying at a great location in paradise, with short drives to all that the island offers. While you're here, may we recommend watching the sunrise over Shipwreck's Beach, followed by snorkeling at Po'ipu Beach and breakfast at Brennecke's Grill, shopping in Old Koloa Town, Po'ipu Shopping Village, and Kukui'ula Village, then a siesta on the lanai. We had numerous great evening dinners, but none surpassed a sunset dinner at The Beach House, located just 10 minutes west. Two last recommendations: Pohaku T's for island apparel and St. Raphael's Catholic Church, both in Koloa. Leesa has painstakingly put together a "Concierge" binder located in the condo, complete with recommendations, menus, phone numbers, etc., which was very helpful to us.

The value of this condo was terrific. The pictures don't even reflect how great the view is. You can walk to the shore and beach in less than two minutes. The lanai is great--we spent any non-sleeping time out there. So relaxing to just watch the water and listen to the waves. The complex itself is great--very quiet, and this unit is well maintained. The breezes are great--we did not wish for any A/C. Truly a great value, especially when you compare to the Hyatt next door at $450+ a night.

My husband, son and I stayed at this condo for the first time. Although we have stayed at this particular resort many times we decided to try out a different unit. Our first positive impression was of the gorgeous view! A beautiful ocean view from the lanai and kitchen as well. Leesa called to check on our comfort the second day that we were there and asked if all was well with the unit (which it was). The kitchen is well appointed and the decor is lovely - making for a wonderful experience in Kauai. The lanai was a perfect place to relax after spending a day in the sun and ocean and we made use of it each day. To keep this review entirely honest we found a few glasses and one or two utensils that had not been cleaned by the previous renters and had been put back in the drawer and cupboard. It was easily taken care of by putting them back in the dishwasher - Leesa listened graciously when I told her, apologizing for the inconvence (it was obvious to me that she takes great pride in her condo and that this was not something that usually happened)...all in all the condo was super clean, nicely decorated and a pleasure to stay in! We would most definately stay there again.

My husband and I along with another couple just returned from Kauai. The condo was fabulous, clean, updated, and well stocked. I really appreciated the beach towels, chairs, and mats that were already there for our use...very convenient! We could walk to multiple beaches and restaurants. Sitting outside on the patio watching and listening to the waves was so relaxing and always ended our fun-filled days perfectly! I would definitely recommend this condo!

This condo is comfortable, has an appealing island decor, and is in a great location. The condo was clean and had additional cleaning supplies to maintain it. The kitchen had more than adequate dishes and utensils. It took a moment to locate the disposal switch, a button on the sink -- clever. The owners were very helpful in the information that was provided and even called to check and see that everything was ok. We bought papayas and lime at the farmer's market in Koloa and enjoyed them on the lanai with almost daily rainbows. Watching the green sea turtles by the Point at Poipu was another favorite. We found Anini Beach -- great spot for beach and snorkeling, saw Nene at the lighthouse (a first for us), and dinner at 22 North was fantastic. We'll be back!

We recently spent a week at this condo. The location is excellent for watching whales and only a short walk to the great beach in front of the Grand Hyatt hotel. The kitchen was very well stocked with ample dishes, good quality pots and pans. An added bonus was finding comfy beach chairs to use. We would definitely consider booking again. Owners provide lots of helpful info re: what to see and do if it's your first time to the island.

We returned to Poipu Sands in November again this year as we loved our stay there in 2009. In fact we enjoyed it so much we booked it for a month this year and loved it! It is ideal accommodation for 3 – 4 people and is very nicely furnished. Each bedroom is very private and is complete with its own ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is fully furnished with everything we needed to prepare our own meals. The lanai is especially large. It is the ideal place to relax, read, chat, etc. while watching and listening to the waves crashing on shore at Shipwreck Beach. We could easily stroll to Poipu Beach from this location and there is a great walk that follows the heritage trail along the shoreline. We enjoyed eating at the various restaurants nearby. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this accommodation to anyone wishing to make Poipu Sands their home while vacationing in Kauai!

We had a wonderful stay in Kauai and at this condo April 16-24, 2010. The condo had everything we needed! It was very well decorated and has a great view of the ocean from the balcony, just as you see in the photos. It was very clean and well-maintained. It's a very short walk to the beach with great views and paths in both directions. It's also very close to the pool and bar-b-que areas. The owners are great to work with, very responsive! We would definitely recommend it and would stay there again ourselves! Kauai is beautiful. There are so many activities and adventures to choose from! Our favorite was the Kalalua Trail along the Na Pali Coast, it's absolutely beautiful! We can't wait to go back again some day!

The condo looks just like the pictures, absolutely beautiful. This was our family's first trip to Kauai and the choice to stay in this condo was definitely one of our best decisions. Having younger children, we almost spend as much time indoors as we do outdoors and having the space, laundry and kitchen was heavenly. The short walking access to the Grand Hyatt nearby and Shipwreck's Beach offered great access to a very entertaining luau, great restaurants and a nice beach. The view from the condo is breathtaking and the nearby sound of the ocean was so relaxing. A longer walk but short drive led us to Poipu Beach where the kids were entertained for hours. This couldn't have been a more relaxing time off and the condo certainly attributed this. Can't wait to go again! Thank you!

What an amazing condo! My beautiful bride and I enjoyed our 6 lovely nights in this place. We actually spent 6 days at the Hyatt just next door and wish we would have stayed in this condo the whole time. It has a great view and is in a great location for those who like to stay in the southern part of Kauai. Hands down one of the best deals on island. Everything was set up properly when we arrived and we didn't have any bad experiences the whole stay. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms were in great condition.

Poipu Sands #434 is a beautiful and well maintained condo. My wife and I immediately felt at home there. Leesa and Jim Sadler have created a lovely and comfortable environment. Everything you need is there, from boogie boarding to watching the sunrise from the lanai. The condo's location is excellent, with quick and easy access to beaches, the Hyatt next door, a tennis court, and a swimming pool. It's also close to the Poipu Shopping Village (just over a mile) and a straight shot up the bypass road into Koloa Town. We would rent this wonderful condo again in a heartbeat.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this condo! The cleanliness and comfort of the condo exceeded our expectations. The location is great and the nearby tide pools are filled with sea turtles and seals. The pictures portray the condo remarkably well. The second bedroom was made with two twin beds and worked perfectly for our two friends. The lanai is a great place for dinners and the on-site bbq’s provide great convenience for having meals at the condo. We will for sure be booking another reservation in the future!

The rating should be Positive ++! The unit was well cared for with extras such as beach chairs and boards. Away from noisy streets and noisy chickens, yet within walking distance of two popular beaches. The lanai faced perfectly to watch the sunrise over the ocean, and at night you fell asleep to the sound of the waves and the feel of the wonderful breeze! The walk up the stairs is worth it to avoid typical condo noise of nearby neighbors. We would highly recommend it...the owners are wonderful to work with. The pictures are exactly as you will find it.

This is our third year staying in the Poipu Sands, and this time we stayed with another couple so rented a two bedroom. We all agreed the decor here is top notch, beds comfortable, kitchen well equiped, etc. There are beach chairs available and boogie boards to use - a nice touch. Anyone with mobility issues should be aware the unit is on the 3rd floor with no elevator so help may be needed with large suitcases. The owner is great to deal with and even checked up by phone to make sure we had settled in and were comfortable.

We had a wonderful relaxing 15-day stay at Poipu Sands. This accommodation definitely exceeded our expectations! This top floor condo is spotless, is very spacious and nicely decorated with a tropical décor. It is well furnished and the kitchen has everything you could ever need for cooking in your unit. The kitchen and bathrooms have obviously been upgraded and it shows beautifully. There are 2 bedrooms with very comfortable beds and 2 ensuite baths. As there were 3 of us staying here we had loads of room and the separated bedrooms afforded plenty of privacy. Having a washer and dryer in the suite was a nice plus. We loved the very large lanai with its gorgeous views of the ocean and the beautiful landscaped grounds. We found it the perfect place to enjoy our meals or to just relax and read while enjoying the view and hearing the huge waves crashing into the shoreline.Guide books and brochures were provided to help with planning our days on Kauai. The owner responds very quickly via e-mail to inquiries and phoned the day after our arrival to make sure everything was fine and to answer any questions we may have had – a nice touch. Poipu Sands is very well located, very quiet and close to everything. The grounds are large and beautifully landscaped. There are also 2 gas barbecues available for use and we cooked up some delicious steaks on several occasions. We enjoyed their swimming pool which is large enough for swimming lengths. We particularly liked being close to the Grand Hyatt and its amenities especially their spacious, gorgeously landscaped grounds. We enjoyed their evening cocktails and appetizers while watching their evening Hawaiian performances We had a fantastic time on Kauai and staying at Poipu Sands 434 definitely added to our enjoyment! We highly recommend this place and we will definitely return.

We've visited Poipu Sands two different times... once as a couple & the other as a family. Simply put, this unit exceeded our high expectations. The location of the condo is superb. Situated on the building's top-level, it has a fantastic view of the ocean & Poipu Sands' surrounding grounds. With the sound of the sea ever-present, the spacious balcony makes for a pleasant setting at sunset. Located a few steps from Shipwreck Beach, there are very few units closer to the Grand Hyatt & its amenities than this one. Inside, it's clearly apparent that the owners have put some care & attention into the place. The roomy & comfortable unit is thoughtfully decorated throughout. Its kitchen, as well as both bathrooms, have been beautifully upgraded. And having a washer & dryer available for use is certainly a benefit. With plenty of rooom to relax & unwind, we highly recommend this unit. We're returning once again this summer... and can't wait.

We particularly liked the layout of this condo with the second bed and bath very separate from the master bedroom. Everything was first rate and we liked being there so much that we had dinner "in" two nights--a real bonus to have access to a grill (and there were 3 of them). The kitchen was well equipped and everything was immaculate. Also a plus to have the washer and dryer after hiking! Absolutely first rate condo and I would highly recommend it.

Shipwreck Beach is great starting point for 2 mile cliff hike and good waves to watch surfers. Loved the 3rd floor deck to relax, read, and eat. The condo has floor to ceiling sliding glass doors and windows on the ocean side so you have that ambiance whenever you are there. We prepared a lot of our meals at the condo because we enjoyed being there. We had a very memorable experience and would do it again in a heartbeat! The owners are great people to work with...very helpful and trustworthy.
