We found these accommodations to be in tip top shape upon our arrival. Our interaction with the landlord was exceedingly smooth and found her to be extremely generous. Not only did she expedite the keys to us ahead of time to another city, she left us a lovely bottle of wine upon our arrival. Although there were only two of us the accommodation would have slept six comfortably as the condo is well provisioned with sleeping and bathroom space. The kitchen was fully equipped, which thrilled my A-one cook of a girlfriend to no end, so an experienced culinary artist would have no problem putting on dinner for a group of 4-6. The apartment is also equipped with an up-to-date entertainment centre that is more than adequate; however, if you spend you time watching TV in this place you've missed the point. We had a couple of special requests for our weekend stay that the landlord fulfilled without ado and to much appreciation. The building is ideally located on the northern edge of the downtown core and on the edge of Chinatown. Just central enough that all of Victoria's hub is within walking distance of no more than 30 mins (including: Beacon Hill Park; Empress Hotel; Provincial Museum; Legislative Grounds; Inner Harbour). An array of restaurants and watering holes are a mere stones throw and we found that we had no use for a car. See review title for an abbreviated version of the above.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Monaco which exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed being in the heart of Victoria--easy walks to great restaurants, shops, the Harbour, Museum, famed Empress Hotel and the Legislative building--a water taxi will whisk you from the harbour to within a couple of blocks of home ( or on a couple of great harbour tours). Although a Heritage site, the high quality unit is very clean and contemporary with two full baths. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who can resist the fine restaurants nearby. We'd highly recommend the Monaco

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Monaco. The unit was very clean and in wonderful condition.. Although we chose to eat at the numerous and great restaurants within easy walking distance, the fully equipped kitchen would afford the opportunity to enjoy 'home cooking'. The Monaco's location is very central and an easy stroll to the harbour, Museum,Empress Hotel,Legislative Building and shopping---if all this tuckers you out, a Water Taxi will get you within a couple of blocks of home. Unless drives further afield are on the agenda, you really don't need a car when you're staying here. All in all--highly recommended.

Arrangements in advance of our stay of 2 months were well facilitated and plenty of info about this fantastic condo and the area was shared with us - Nancy remained a source of such support throughout our stay. Waiting for us upon on arrival was a wonderful "welcome" package which afforded us the opportunity to cook our first romantic Italian meal. Later enjoying a stroll down Government St for a breathtaking view of the BC Parliament buildings outlined in illumination like no other seat of government. A short stroll to Yates maket the next day gave us the opportunity to stock up and discover the great crab cakes and other Island products. This condo is ideal for hosting guests and the memory foam bed in the second bedroom was mentioned by every guest as providing them with the best sleep they had in a long time. The secure parking provided for us was really appreciated because the parking downtown is difficult and I am sure the parking ticket guys are on commission. Every ammenity and convenience that my wife and I needed over the glorious 8 weeks was provided - with class!

The condo in the Monaco building is terrific, with very spacious living areas, comfortable furnishings, and a great location. It's easy to walk all around the central part of Victoria, and provided parking allows for easy day trips on Vancouver Island. This handsomely appointed condo is really nice to come home to after a long day of sightseeing, too.

My Family and I had a loveley week long stay in Victoria. The accomodation was modern, clean and extreamly well positioned downtown Victoria. The fit out and design of the property was beyond all expectations....much more like staying in a wealthy persons private city pad than any sort of commercial accomadation. Close to good coffee in China Town...try 'Habit' only a street away!

It was a great location. We were able to walk everywhere! The condo was beautiful, very safe and secure. We were given great recommendations by Nancy Martin who manages the property and would go back any time we could! The photos on VRBO were exactly as the condo looked. Ver well maintained.

We had a great time in Victoria. The condo was very, very comfortable. The facilities were excellent! You can enjoy to cook everything you want. If you wouldn't want to cook by yourself, you can choose nice restaurants, cafes just across the road. This condo is located in a nice and convenient area. This is the best place to stay to enjoy Victoria.

"A rare gem that has it all!" "We stayed at the Monaco lofts from Oct 2009-Jan 2010. Our experience was memorable & we truly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location was amazing, a close walk to everything. The spacious 2 BR/2BA loft offered us plenty of room and was great for visitors as well. The interior was exceptional with modern finishings & decor, new appliances & loaded up with everything we needed. We hope to stay there again in the future!"

Victoria is beautiful, the people engaging, the adventures memorable, the temperatures in the cool 70's, and the food delicious. We will always remember our month-long 20th anniversary in August, 2007 as glorious. The Monaco condo on Johnson Street is an outstanding base for walks along the Inner Harbour at sunset, abundant restaurants/stores, tours and adventures. This modern 2-bedroom condo is lovely, fully functional, comfortable, and conducive to quiet dinner gatherings. Besides easy access to everything, this condo has an inviting contemporary feel: soothing colors, artistic flow, and a wonderful array of lighting. The bamboo floor is soft to the touch. Off the street parking is convenient for activities outside downtown. Having operating manuals accessible and organized was very reassuring for those of us who are Technologically Challenged. Owners Arne and Marva went above and beyond. They were responsive to our questions and needs, easy to work with, and even arranged to have a friend greet us with the keys and a lovely basket of Canadian treats. May all who visit this condo leave as satisfied and blessed as we were.
