As veteran renters of vacation properties, we can say this is one of the finest, best outfitted homes we've occupied in 30+ years of travel. My husband has some minor mobility issues so the ground level access with the master and generous walk-in shower on the main floor were a huge plus. The views from the rooms and the porch are truly spectacular. We saw so many stars, it was almost like living in a planetarium at night. We didn't get around to much sight-seeing because we simply couldn't tear ourselves away from all the wild visitors to the front yard. (We set out deer and bird feed to encourage it.) More than a dozen deer were regulars, as were small fox, jackrabbits, squirrels and birds. It was very busy out there! The house and grounds are very well maintained by the housekeeper, Rita, and a handyman/gardener, John. We didn't bring a crowd with us but the place would accommodate a huge group with plenty of space -- especially with the adjacent 2-bedroom casita. The pool is gorgeous and clean and with the outdoor kitchen, one could have dinner on the patio every night! We had only one complaint and that was that we didn't stay long enough. Next time!

We had a girls weekend at this house and I couldn't believe the space, style and convenience that it had. It was truly beautiful outside and inside with lots of land to walk and take pictures on. Deer came into the yard several times. The hot tub, pool, outdoor kitchen, sitting areas with fire pits, game room with pool table - it was truly spectacular especially for the price!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had so much fun. We had my Mom's 80th birthday there and enjoyed every minute of it, especially the hot tub. I loved the Casita. We put the 2 teenagers in there. No problems.

Great time was had by all (17 adults and 7 kids). The facilities were problem free and spacious enough that you could have together and separate time. The kids loved the trails and the deer while the adults loved that the kids weren't bored. It is a beautiful house, relaxing pool and easy to access. Thanks for providing all necessities required for having a memorable time.

Our family had a wonderful time this past weekend. The owners go above and beyhond to try to take care of any problems that come up. They are very easy to work with and answer all questions as quickly as possible. This is our 5th year to stay at a VRBO rental property and it was by far our best experience with the house and owners! The kitchen is very well supplied with dishes, cookware etc. The pool was wonderful and was perfect for our kids and grandkids. The deer were fun to watch and the sunsets were stunning! I hope that we will be able to return at sometime. I would definetly recommend this property!

The house is wonderful and spacious, far exceeds what the pictures show! Our group had problems with the computer, no internet access, hot tub not working, the entrance gate didn't always work properly, and there were a few things we couldn't figure out how to do (such as turn off the pool cleaning apparatus that would occasionally spray everyone!). Our group would have loved to go back but the owner stopped responding to our emails - with the only explanation that someone in our group had upset her housekeeper (none of us had any idea what could have upset her). It is a great place for a gathering but I guess we'll have to look elsewhere for our annual lodging. Disappointing!

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Unfortunate that the guest left feeling this way. We never received any e-mails, so difficult to respond. We give all guests our home and mobile numbers, so we are always available. Everything worked when we checked on it, except for the wireless router which had to be unplugged and plugged back in to clear it. We could have told them this over the phone, or e-mails if we had received them. Please take a look at every other review that we have posted.

Your place was perfect for our family Christmas celebration. There was 9 of us, ranging from 2 to 87. A pleasant place, plenty of room, no complaints. We like to cook and the kitchen was Great!!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We are 8 little old ladies from PHS 56, plus one friend. It was good to excile the bad ones to the Casita. The fire pit was lots of fun and none of us got burned. How lucky we are to have close friendships after all of these years.

This is our 2nd stay here at Sunset Ridge Escape. We just love this perfect location for our large group! Thank you for having a well stocked kitchen as we love to cook together. We recommend this to everyone we know as a great spot for large familes or groups.

What a wonderfully beautiful backdrop Sunset Ridge Escape turned out to be for a girl's trip. We planned for much fun and activities, but we couldn't have planned for all of the fond memories we'll share for years to come. From the kitchen perfectly designed for intimate dinners among 8 friends to the comfortable beds and warm showers, it was all we could have hoped for. We thank you!!

What a beatuiful home! Our group got the wonderful opportunity to enjoy Hill Country for a friends wedding. We thouroughly enjoyed relaxing by the pool, laying out next to the hot tub, or spending the evenings next to the fire pit, staring up at the Milky Way. Having come from Seattle, we could not have asked for a better place to stay for our first visit to Texas. Wimberley and Sunset Ridge Escape is seriouslt Texas' best kept secret!!

Our entire group of 7 truly enjoyed our relaxing, restful, and wonderful excursion to your wonderful hill country resort. Wow! (And that's an understatement) We had such a great time at Sunset Ridge Escape. Peggy & Phil are great! They are easy to communicate with, and they made sure we'd enjoy our stay by providing additional info. about things to do in Wimberley. We're already telling our friends, and planning our next visit!! My mother-in-law and our friends cannot stop talking about how nice the house is! My husband & I have been visiting Wimberley every year for the past 10 years, and I have to say, there are a lot of nice rentals--but this one is THE BEST. Our group really enjoyed our stay. We did not see 25 deer, but we did see 5 bucks at one time in the front yard. We also enjoyed a jack rabbit, and numerous red and blue birds. We loved the fire pit, and of course the river and the pool. Everything is beautiful and well planned. Thanks for everything!!

Our family of 10 stayed at Sunset Ridge over the MLK weekend and had great time. We all live in Texas and this was convenient for everyone and allowed us all room to roam around and not get in each other's way too much! We enjoyed the nightly fire, all of us watching for falling stars - something we don't see in the city too often!

We have been vacationing in Wimberley all of my life. This year we needed something special to accommodate our entire family for the holidays. The houses were extremely clean and comfortable. The owners were quite accommodating and answered all of our questions expeditiously. We loved the location, the view, the deer, the fire pit, hottub, outdoor kitchen, fishing in the Blanco and so much more. It was too cold to enjoy the beautiful pool but we made great use of the firepit (laughs, story telling and s'mores). We have already made our reservation to return next summer!

Every year I treat my staff to an expense paid four day shopping weekend as a reward for there hard work. We try to visit different areas from Ruidosa, New Mexico to Central Texas. This year was by far the best experience we have had. The home and casita were fantastic. The privacy and location great. And they shopped until I dropped! They definitely want me to bring them back. I have stayed on this property a number of times and can say that the views are spectacular. Take some friends and head down to the park area with the hammock some night. It's quite the experience.

Thank you for the fantastic stay. The house and setting are fantastic , the wildlife plentiful, and a great full moon and shooting stars. The beds ( I have slept in 2 ) are so comfortable.
