I hope this wonderfully appointed and maintained cottage is available whenever we return to the Bay Area...I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The hosts are helpful and accommodating without being intrusive, the fee is very fair and the location is extremely convenient. EXCELLENT! on all counts.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This beautiful well presented and equipped cottage is in the heart of 2 great districts and conveniently a short walk to the BART which zips you into the city in a flash. The owners have thought of everything you might need and have it there at your fingertips. A home away from home. Comfortable & luxurious , it made our stay in the Bay Area perfect including proximity to restaurants, theatres, cafes, and great shopping. The general area has a stylish hip vibe and we felt very safe there even at night . The cottage itself is quite roomy and you have a great sitting area as well as large bedroom, great kitchen and bathroom. I highly recommend Rockridge Cottage for a stay in the Bay Area. Well priced value for money. It's great to visit another country or state and not feel like a tourist but part of the fabric. This cottage situationally lets you into that world . And when you return , your home in your own comfy resort home away from home.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I recently stayed at this charming rental apartment in Rockridge. It was the perfect base from which to explore the San Francisco Bay Area. Close to BART, with easy freeway access, we found this rental perfect in so many ways, both classy (in a tastfefully reserved way) comfortable and clean, safe, with all the amenities one could wish for, not to mention the thoughtful yet unobtrusive care and attention from our hosts. Without hesitation, we give this wonderful gem of a vacation rental a resounding thumbs up and eagerly look forward to staying there in the not distant future. What can I say, it was ideal for us in so many ways. First the charm of the cottage, the privacy, the color pallet and decor was A1. Located right where it stated it was without exaggeration and parking was convenient if we needed to travel outside the walking distance. The photo's are nice but in person even better. The photo's don't allow you to feel the lushness of the linens from bedding to bath. Looking forward to our return.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We are a couple of young people from France. We spent one week in this cottage during our trip to California. On a friend's advice, we choosed to stay at Rockridge as a good deal between San Francisco accessibility (bart) and calm neighborhood. The Cottage is a quiet and comfy place. It was very clean, and all features indicated in the vrbo information are accurate. The owner provides a high quality service. Rockridge hold shops and restaurant in a very active district along College Avenue. We are very happy of our stay in this cottage and I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some good days near San Francisco.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed in this great cottage when the electricity in our home went off for several days. We decided it would be fun to spend the time in the Berkeley/Oakland area for a mini vacation instead of living in an uncomfortable house with no electricity. We were so impressed with the style, condition, and convenience of this vacation rental. The apartment had just been completely remodeled with flair and comfort in mind. Everything was in excellent condition and they were more than welcoming with information about the area. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the facilities were better than we could have found in any hotel. The french doors lead you to a wonderful deck that overlooks the garden. Enjoying a glass of wine while sitting in this lovely spot was the perfect way to end the day. We spent our time in the East Bay going to museums, eating in some of the great restaurants and wandering down a shopping street a couple blocks from the apartment. All in all we had a great time and are ready to do another mini vacation there. --Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a truly lovely place for one person or a couple. Fresh, clean, tasteful. I can be picky about these things, but I have nothing but praise. There were days when I didn't want to go out, it was just so comfortable to stick around. The cottage is on a pretty and quiet Rockridge street, with that typical northern California aroma of eucalyptus, pine, and spice. It is immaculately kept, newly done I believe, with everything I needed. The bedroom looks out on the garden, while the only other room looks over a raised wooden deck, perfect for morning meals or yoga. Bedroom was exceedingly comfortable, and large enough for this New York City boy, with a king size bed, stereo and music library, and a decent, if not very large, flat screen TV and DVD player. The single bath is very nicely done, with a shower complete with "old hotel" size spray. There is no tub (this is stated in the ad), which may be an issue for some people, but I'm a shower person anyway. I appreciated that the place is one block from College Avenue, densely packed with cafes, organic grocery, specialty stores, great for exploration or entertaining guests. You can walk to BART in oh, about 20 minutes, but it is an energetic walk, perhaps not something you'd do unless you are ready for some exercise. My arrival schedule took my to the place at midnight, and I wondered whether the route to the cottage, which is around to the back of the main home, would be difficult to navigate at that hour. It wasn't. As you walk, brushing flowering trees, light sensors make it easy to see you way around back. Not a problem...in fact, sort of charming. Murray was helpful and responsive at every step. Highly recommended. (maybe when I'm in town you can try somewhere else?).Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This cottage is found as an adjunct to but entirely separate from the owner's home. The cottage is very secure It contains a living room / kitchen and a very comfortable bedroom and bed.The bathroom has a very good shower and is all the necessaries. The owners' laundry facilities were used within agreed hours and with no problems. Importantly the cottage was very clean when we arrived; We stayed during late fall and the heating and hot water supply was excellent - an absolute priority. The kitchen is well equipped with all required appliances and utensils. The owner has both Wi-Fi and ithe back up of cable for a computer. There was never any troub;le getting on line. A TV is placed in the bedroom. There is a security drawer in the bedroom for valuables We stayed there for 3 weeks and were very satisfied The apartment is 5 minutes easy walk to the bus to UC Berkeley( 10 mins) and the stroll to Rockridge BART for SFO trains is about 10 minutes. The cottage is close to the pleasant shopping centres of Rockridge (5-10 mins) and Elmwood (10 mins). There is a good variety of family style restaurants and coffee shops in both centres. The owners were friendly, helpful and respectful of guest's privacy. We would certainly recommend the cottage to friends or relatives. .Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+.

We agree with all the three previous reviews and would highly recommend this cottage. The photos describe the cottage perfectly. It is very quiet, restful environment. The bed is comfortable, the shower is great, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The cottage is immaculate, and the linens and towels were terrific. The deck was a great place for lunch in early November. We enjoyed the garden setting both from the deck and from the windows of the cottage. The owners were helpful but were not intrusive. The area has great bakeries, restaurants and coffee shops. There is a Safeway nearby as well as a fruit and vegetable market, a butcher shop, and a wonderful French bakery. The Rockridge BART is a fifteen minute walk. We hope to be able to return to Rockridge Cottage on our next visit to Berkeley/Oakland.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were delighted with our week in the Rockridge cottage. The cottage has everything a visitor needs and is tastefully and comfortably furnished. Its proximity to College Avenue is perfect for walking to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and other Berkeley destinations. The cottage grounds are peaceful and private. On a clear night, it is possible to stand on the deck and see the stars. The main house is nearby and the owners are available as needed but not visible to the guests.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
