Miner's Cottage is located in the quiet village of Laurium, a National Historic District conveniently located in the center of the Keweenaw peninsula. Laurium is in the heart of the Keweenaw Peninsula or otherwise known as the Copper Country. It was one of the many boomtowns that sprang up in the late 1800's on the wealth that was created by copper mining. The copper mining history here was so important to the the United States development that Congress created Keweenaw National Historical Park in 1992.
This 11 room, 1700 sq.ft. house was built in 1895 and extensively renovated in 2006/07 into a 4 bedroom vacation rental with 2 full bathrooms(one with 6' whirlpool tub), with marble floors and surrounds on the 2nd floor and a first floor half bath.
With 19 years of owning 2 inns, we own the Laurium Manor Inn & Victorian Hall one block south of this house, we are striving to bring our hotel experience into the vacation home rental business. We live only 1 block away and our front desk staff is at Laurium Manor, so questions or needs you may have can be taken care of quickly. |
