  We had a great stay or Old Bahama Bay Resort. The set up for the stay was so easy, just send a check. Pre trip they sent a confirmation on the stay, I set up the transportation with a phone call (Our driver Kayle, was waiting on arrival and had drinks chilled in the cooler).We arrived on Sunday, apparently there are more weekend people than week so the beach was pretty much to ourselves every day, really maybe 5 other people. The beach was cleaned every morning from the sea grass (very little), chairs lined up for the day. The room view was fantastic! We were able to watch the sunrise from bed! The room was nicely appointed. We met a few owners since all the owners were due in for a weekend meeting. Met some great people, lots of boating people. Mornings were going to the Tiki hut for breakfast with amazing views on the beach. People staff was nice. Only disappointing thing was the “Coconut French Toast” which was great but only had coconut every other day (look up at the palm trees, plenty of coconuts)! That was our laugh. The food was very good and coffee great. The cocktails were so/so but I was able to have the bartender in the restaurant make a “Tom Margarita” (ask for one)! The restaurant was nice, fish was very fresh! For the first part of the week there was only a few diners in, later in the week were busy but still was great. This is an island so everything is shipped in, sometimes they run out of things (it happens, so relax). It is island time so it took a few days for me to relax and remember it is not east coast time! Great marina. If you want to plan an activity they have an activity center, I advise you do some research on what you want to do first. They have paddle boards and kayaks to use anytime. They had wifi that connected to the rooms, so I had to answer a few emails for work and able to upload my photos and check on home (yes I did relax but sometime things are necessary). The room had a fridge and coffee maker, bring some filters and ground coffee, enjoy the sunrise every morning from the deck chairs! Off the resort is a typical island, a bit rough around the edges but on the way in the driver took us to a little bar on the West End, had fantastic Conch salad and Conch fritters! We got hugs on the way in and out. Any place you stay there are ups and downs to what you personally like. For us a lot more ups! This is the west end of the island, if you are there for a week I suggest rent a car, the taxis are set pricing and expensive. Yo

  My wife and I returned here for the fourth time in a year. The West End of Grand Bahama is not for everyone as it is a bit quiet , but if you are seeking a really nice people experience and great native Bahamian food , this is wonderful. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable with great views if you choose the Oceanfront option. Each morning we go fishing with a guide who we have gone with for years and we then wander to the village and eat the fish at a small but amazing Restaurant called "The Chicken Nest" . The people at the Hotel are totally welcoming and genuinely appreciative of any kindness . The Restaurant Teasers at the Hotel has great native food . Eat the fish stew or boiled fish with homemade grits for breakfast and you are happy the rest of the day . Nice people...comfortable rooms and peaceful surroundings make for a great get away .

  5 of 5 stars The location is quiet and peaceful. Old Bahama Bay is away from the touristy areas. The food was great. The staff could not be any more kind and helpful. The view and beach are fantastic. There are enough activities to do around the resort. I would love to return to the resort. Just wish the bar had champagne! Oceanfront view is best

  My first visit and stay at Old Bahama Bay, located on the West End of Grand Bahama Island. Flight from Ft Lauderdale was only about 25 MINUTES!!! The hotel had a van pick us up and drive us out to the resort (about a 40 min. ride). Very beautiful resort and grounds, and marina. Looks a lot more like a private gated condo community, rather than typical hotel. Beautiful condo-style rooms with big bathrooms, balcony views of the beach and ocean. The FOOD WAS AMAZING!!! Top restaurant-quality dishes, especially for dinner. If you are going diving, then go with Stuart Cove's Tiger Beach!!! Beto, the dive staff, and boat crew are really awesome, friendly, professional, and DEFINITELY know those waters. The shark diving is INCREDIBLE!! If you are going for Tiger Sharks then you will see them on EVERY DIVE!! They are BIG and they come in CLOSE!! LOTS of Lemon Sharks as well, and on the way to the dive location we even crossed paths with a hug and very beautiful and graceful HUMPBACK WHALE!!! My first time ever seeing one in the wild, and especially in the Bahamas! I was shocked the place wasn't as packed and crowded as Nassau, but I LOVED the seclusion, privacy, and peace and quite. Very awesome experience with Old Bahama Bay, and I would (and will be) DEFINITELY going back! Room Tip: BOOK EARLY!! I'm told their busier seasons pack in early! Rooms are big and spacious.   My wife and I went in mid-November and found the beach and surrounding area to be beautiful and peaceful. There were very few guests at the resort and almost felt like the staff were there to serve us and a few others. A few days we were literally the only guests using the beach. Ameneties were as described and the rom was in good condition. The resort restaurant served wonderful fresh fish and really made it possible to never leave the resort, though we did head into Freeport multiple times during our stay. The only reason I gave it a 4 star vs. a 5 star was because some resort ameneties had been damaged in the last storm and had yet to be repaired. This didn't impact our stay in any way, but just made the resort feel like it was in a state of repair.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

  My wife and I came down for a three-night escape for some r & r. The facility will arrange a driver to pick you up at the airport and will even let you stop at a grocery store to pick up some things for the kitchen(ette). And of course you'll want to get some liquor at the airport instead of buying at the bar everyday. The food at the restaurant is more than adequate for a few nights stay, and is based on the fresh catches of the day. We actually bought lobster tails from a fisherman one night (6 for $20 and killed on the spot) that we took over to the grill... they cooked them up a few different ways for us. The suite is great, bathroom nice and of course the view of the ocean is fantastic. You can snorkel right off the beach and see amazing sea creatures. The suite was exactly as expected. The resort was really quiet, and there's not much to do besides fish / swim / relax. I don't think our young children (2 & 5) would have enjoyed it though... too much "nothing to do". Perfect!

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  This room was clean and the view is awesome. I will stay here many more times in the future. I love this place. The owner is very helpful and accommodating.

  This was our first time in the Bahamas and came for our 20th anniversary. The previous reviews and photos accurately reflect the rental. The owner was also really easy to work with. The suite had a great view of the ocean and beach. Our favorite activity was snorkeling right off the beach to the left of the suite facing the ocean. Everyone was warm and welcoming to us. The staff was helpful and responsive to any requests or needs. The food was excellent at Teasers, a.k.a the Tiki Bar. Be sure to try the Tiki Salad with fish. Harold and Mary were very kind to us, even when they were really busy. Great margaritas! Overall our most memorable experience and vacation that we've ever been on. Thank you!

  This is the perfect getaway. The rooms are magnificent with the most amazing views of the beach. We woke up every morning to a breathtaking sunrise. We treated ourselves to a couples massage that was heavenly. After only five days at OBB it felt like home. The staff makes you feel like family. Mary and Erika at Teasers took such great care of us. They greeted us every morning with their warm and friendly Bahamian charm. New boats come in every day and there are always new people to meet. One group of guys from Atlanta invited us to dinner to share the fish they caught that afternoon. The kitchen staff was nice enough to cook up a feast of the catch made three different ways accompanied by fried plantains, rice and peas and warm Bahamian Johnny Cakes. It was an amazing meal. If you are looking for some R&R in a picture perfect setting go to Old Bahama Bay!
