Sweeping panoramic scenery from large glass-railed deck. Watch the sunrise over Frenchman's Bay with your morning coffee, and set behind the western hills with a glass of wine. From your private glass-railed deck overlooking exquisite gardens and Thomas Bay, watch for eagles, blue herons, seals, and sea otters. Walk the marsh deer path to the reversing falls dam, or rent kayaks to explore the bay and coastline.
Bayscape is exquisite and spacious, with over 1000 square feet of space. The king-bed and sofa are extremely comfortable. Both the king-bedroom and great room have high vaulted ceilings, and cool north-facing exposure to the water. Down the stairs from your second-story retreat is an arched stone patio, charcoal grill and outdoor dinette. Stroll the green garden paths where native beauties and English roses bloom all season long. This private suite is in a lovely new home, and offers comfortable furnishings, large kitchenette, and daily dish-washing service.
A 6 minute drive to Acadia National Park, and 4 more to intown Bar Harbor. Bayscape is conveniently located on Route 3 with easy access to all the towns and park areas on Mount Desert Island.

Bill and Sherri, the hosts and housekeeps. We've collected lots of info on activities, locations and restaurants in our twenty years on Mount Desert Island. We're here if there's anything you need to make your stay more enjoyable. Our guests have all taken advantage of the many amenities the Bayscape Suite, Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor have to offer. We hope you'll do the same.
Why the Owner Chose Bar Harbor
The wide panoramic northerly view gives us both amazing sunrise and sunsets. There's easy access to the park and town, just a five minute drive to carriage trails and ten minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. At Bayscape, we have convenience, comfort, and a live window on the estuary, islands and bay. Thomas Bay is generally very calm, so it's also a great place to kayak!
The Unique Benefits of this Suite
Sherri designed and built the Bayscape residence and suite in 2000 to provide a front-row seat to the seasonal wildlife on the salt pond and bay. The scenery changes with every tide, sunrise, and season. Blue herons and egrets wade at the water's edge, buffleheads and mergansers strut and dive, and a pair of nesting eagles frequently stir up the flocks of resting ducks and gulls. The floriferous English-style garden below the suite's glass deck is filled with colorful field and song birds throughout the summer. The Bayscape residence and suite share the same oceanfront home, each with its own private entry, living and exterior spaces. It's really nice to share this beautiful home and setting, with ample privacy and space for everyone's comfort. We're here to welcome you (but might not see you again until it's time to wish you a safe journey home).
