Old Bay House - Delightful, well maintained Victorian.Ideal for a Family Vacation,Sailing, Fishing trip, Bird Watching,Challenging Palmer and Nicholson Designed Golfing at Bay Creek, or Hard Core Relaxing.This house has it all. Hardwood floors throughout, carpeted stairway with exposed wood leading to four bedrooms and full bathroom upstairs. Kitchen is newly renovated and fully applianced. Large dining area and family room with all of the amenities. New Furniture, freshly painted and queen sized beds.
Old Bay House is just 12 houses from the beach and two blocks from historical Cape Charles. Completely private outside shower and 1/2 bath downstairs. Large bathroom upstairs. The furnishings are beautiful but kid friendly. Back yard has beautiful flowers and a new deck for night time sitting or BBQ plus a cemented picnic area with table and grill.
Cape Charles is the best kept secret on the Eastern Shore because it offers amazing sunsets, fishing, bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, biking, paddle boat and scooter rentals. We are close to barrier islands and you may get a peak at the famous Chincoteague ponies if you are lucky! There are museums, many antique shops and plenty of fun things to do. If you are in to history, Cape Charles has an amazing history beginning with the meteor which created the Chesapeake to now as the town is enjoying its revival! Awesome. While there is plenty to do maybe you just want to relax on our sunny sandy beaches or go to the fishing pier for crabbing and fishing. Wind down or be on the go everyday; Cape Charles is the place for whatever you want on a vacation.

Why the Owner Chose Cape Charles
We chose to buy a property in Cape Charles in just two weeks. We fell in love with the peaceful atmosphere and the friendly people. We loved the access to the beautiful beach and the wonderful sunsets. We knew that renters would find peace, tranquility and fun family time here just as we do. The weather is great and our home will be our retirement home so we are very meticulous in how we care for it. We absolutely know our renters will love it here.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Unique benefits to be enjoyed come from the diversity of offerings. One can boat, fish, swim, discover,golf, bird watch, play sports or just plop on the beach and read a book. We are the proud home of the Heron and Bird Watching is great at Kiptopeke State Park. We have two Championship Golf Courses at Bay Creek. The town is growing but quiet and the waves at the bay lap very gently for small children. The food is fabulous and well priced. Cape Charles has history that cannot be duplicated and each time we come we learn another fact. We plan to live here in retirement.

Wow, this house was wonderful! The pictures do not do it justice--it is much bigger than it appears. It is clean and super well-equipped with all kitchen necessities, not to mention beach chairs, bicycles, umbrellas, floats and a beach cart. Our two families with 3 kids under 4 years old had plenty of room and space. It's location was perfect--2 short blocks from the beach and 2 short blocks from the main street of town. It was also 2 blocks from the park and the library. We walked or rode bikes everywhere. You can rent bicycles and golf carts in town if you need to--the people of Cape Charles are very friendly and helpful. We ate at Veneto's, Kelly's Pub, and the Coffeehouse and we loved all of them. The owner of the property was nice enough to send us emails with all the Cape Charles happenings during the week of our stay. We took the kids to a craft time at the library, which was so cute. We had excellent weather, although a little on the warm side, so we hit the beach early in the morning with the kids. The sunrises are gorgeous! Thank you so much for a great vacation!!!

We just returned home from a wonderful week in lovely Cape Charles! The beauty and charm of your home only added to our experience. The air conditioning was a huge benefit on the hottest day of the year (heat index reached 102!) after returning home from a long day at the beach side-stepping crabs and collecting shells! Our kids felt at home in their respective rooms and ours was a simplistic and beautiful room that made us reminiscent of a seemingly bygone era. What a wonderful treat this was for us to break from our busy lives! Everyone from Mayor Dora, the Harbor Master, the sweet store keeper at the Cape Charles Emporium, the pharmacist from Rayfield's, and your very generous neighbor made us feel right at home! Even the general store keeper/owner of Watson's Hardware was accommodating of my request to use his wash room when I had to fix a slipped bicycle chain! The ladies at Veneto's were kind enough to uncork our wine and provide cups to us for our evening jaunt to the beach to watch the sunset. We could not have asked for a more relaxing and memorable vacation, thank you for sharing your home and your town with us!

Everything was like expected. The house is clean and it looks like the pictures. Going back there, I would rent the same place. A/C central was a blessing for the hot week we had down there. It's perfect for family with young children. Quiet and super to read your novel on the huge porch. We had a very good meal between Kelly's and Veneto's restaurant. I don't remember the name of the restaurant but the women chef was very friendly and created a new desert for our kid. We had a lot of fun.
