In the year-round resort community of Tahoe Donner in Truckee, California, our lovely mountain home provides access to the plentiful recreational opportunities of the Lake Tahoe region. In the winter, you’re less than 30 minutes from world class skiing and snowboarding at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar or Sugar Bowl. Just up the road, the Tahoe Donner ski area is ideal for beginners and intermediates.
In the summer, the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe beckon, along with golf, hiking, mountain biking, tennis and a host of other pursuits. Within the Tahoe Donner community, you’ll find Trout Creek Recreation Center, which offers a complete fitness center, massage, Jacuzzi and two pools. Other association amenities include cross country skiing, downhill skiing, golf course, tennis center, and a private beach on Donner Lake.
Our newly-furnished and beautiful house, built in the late-nineties, has the Tahoe pines greenbelt as its backyard for nearly as far as the eye can see--a haven for recreation, comfort, and peace. The two-car garage at ground level provides easy inside stair access to the main floor, above. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area which adjoins the private back deck, where a gas-fired state of the art barbecue and bamboo patio furniture invite meals at leisure in the spring and summer. The wooded great room is warmed by a wood stove. It also features a large screen Plasma TV with a Tivo recorder, a Jacuzzi bathtub in the master bath, wireless internet and printer for times when business calls.
For extra comfort the Master has both a pillow top mattress with a feather bed overlay. The second guest bedroom is also provided with an ultra comfortable pillow top mattress. The third bedroom has a lodge pole bunk bed that includes a queen sized bottom section and twin on top, ideal for parents and a child. No pets will be permitted and smoking is not allowed.

We just got back from an amazingly snowy weekend stay at this great home in the mountains. This "cabin" was perfect for my husband and I and our three grown children (24, 21, 17). The living room had plenty of comfortable sitting space, and the kitchen was perfectly equipped. In addition, the home is tastefully decorated and very clean. The owner of the property was gracious and immediately responded to our inquiries. We highly recommend this comfortable spacious home and would go back for another stay without hesitation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Larry was kind enough to rent us the house for 4 nights on very short notice, as our original plans fell through. This clean, modern, and well-appointed home was located in a beautiful hills of Tahoe Donner, minutes from downtown Truckee and several excellent snow/ski areas. Having use of the garage was a nice bonus as it snowed several days during our stay. The floor plan was perfect for our family of 7, allowing the grandparents a separate bedroom with private bath, while we and our 3 children shared the opposite section of the house with 2 bedrooms and a bath of our own. The open kitchen/dining/living room made for a nice central spot for us to congregate in the evenings in front of the fire. We hope we will have the opportunity to stay here again in the future!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We absolutely LOVED this house! It was clean, pretty, well-appointed, very nicely laid out, lovely views -- so comfortable and homey. It worked perfectly for us with our 3 kids (ages 4, 7 and 9), who loved playing outside. And the bedrooms have doors! Lots of places in Truckee don't. I miss the kitchen already, it was such a pleasant place to cook. And no kidding about the comfortable featherbeds -- what luxury. We were there to ski at Sugarbowl, and it was really accessible and worked great. We found this place last-minute after we'd arrived in Truckee and found that the condo we'd reserved wasn't ready. Larry and Janet were so so kind and responsive -- they turned a heartbreaking disaster into a lovely wonderful memory. This is no investment property, it's a beloved home and you will feel the same way when you're there. We now have a new favorite place to stay in Truckee!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This 3 bedroom home was exactly what we were looking for in a snow getaway. The home is centrally located and comes with passes to use the Tahoe Donner community facilities for a small fee (gym, pool, exercise classes), which was a great way to break up all the snow days. Having a garage was a big plus in the snow. The master bed and bath are spacious. The bunk beds worked well for our kids, and the third bedroom is well-sized with plenty of drawer space. The home is clean, well stocked and we found Larry to be very accessible (we needed help dealing with getting snowed in) and kind.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Larry, We had a very enjoyable stay at your house. As someone who enjoys cooking, it was nice to be able to be in the same big room as the rest of the family while they watched tv or did a puzzle at the dinning room table. Also I have rented houses where there was not so much as salt or sugar if you forgot to pack it, but your house is well stocked with condiments and spices. The deep bath was invaluable to my shins after a long day of skiing. We would definately return. Thanks!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.
