We loved this cozy cabin. Much attention has been paid to details that made our stay so enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable so we were able to start each day rested and refreshed. The location made for a nice walk into town and the grounds were so inviting we enjoyed our mornings and afternoons taking in the view and observing the abundant wild life. This will be our first choice accommodations on our next trip to the area.

This is a very quaint place to stay. It is small but more than adequate for a couple of nights. The host is very attentive and responsive to questions. The surroundings are amazing if enjoying the river is on your agenda. Please note that we didn't feel walking into downtown Gruene was feasible in the dark along the roads, but the drive is less than 5 minutes. We would stay again!

We loved this cute little mostly-glass cabin with its big windows that bring the beautiful outdoors indoors while a cedar fence maintains perfect privacy. We have stayed in Gruene many times, and this has by far the prettiest views of the river, only about a mile from the center of town. Two kayaks are part of the package, and stepping stones provide easy access to the Guadalupe. We were there in November, and want to go back when the weather is a little warmer and the water a little deeper.

Walking distance to downtown Gruene and super convenient to New Braunfels and the Hill Country. Looking forward to a return visit in summer, when we can take advantage of the riverfront access.

Just What We Were Looking For

We are so glad we found this cabin. We wanted a special, reasonably priced place to stay in Gruene for our anniversary, and this little place is perfect. The cabin is just right for two, and just a short stroll down to the river, which was beautiful. The grounds are lovely with a fire pit, and great little seating areas. Chris really has gone out of his way to make sure anything you need is there, from coffee to little log fire starters WITH a "clicker," to WiFi. We couldn't believe the number of deer we saw on the road to the cabin, so "drive carefully!" Also, the cabin is a very short drive to either Gruene, New Braunfels, or San Marcos. The location is great. Did a lot of dancing to a great band called "The Georges" at Gruene Hall, our favorite place ever (happy hour 4 - 7 weekdays w/$1.75 beer!) We loved our stay at the Historic Gruene River Cabin and we will definitely be back. Patty & Greg from Tyler, Texas

We stayed in this neat, clean, cozy Cabin on the Guadalupe River, for 3 nights this Summer. The owners have thought of everything - King size bed, coffee service, firewood, charcoal, disposable dinnerware, etc., even a 2 person kayak! We had a blast walking to Gruene (esp. Gruene Hall), kayaking in the Guadalupe, and fishing (even caught some catfish for the grill - yum!) Thanks for everything! We'll definately be back soon!

This is the second time my wife and I have enjoyed extended birthday weekends at this guest cabin. Great entertainment, shopping and restaurants are only minutes away in Gruene, and that makes "wifie" happy! Trophy rainbow trout fishing is only 100 feet away and that makes me happy! If you are looking for GREAT trout fishing and a wonderful historic TX destination, you've got to experience this cabin on the Guadalupe River.
