Great property perched in the beautiful hills of Paso. I have stayed a few times with groups of friends and every time everyone enjoyed the house and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect--close to town (just a short drive), near all the wineries and an easy drive through the hills to the ocean and Hearst Castle. We usually reserve a night for dinner in town and then the rest of the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and cook and BBQ after a lovely day of wine tasting. Private wine tour companies will pick up and drop off right at the house. I would definitely recommend Rancho Deeluxe to anyone looking for a great house in Paso. Hank, the owner, is fantastic to make arrangements with and is super helpful in recommendations. Arrival and departure is a breeze. A great stay and look forward going back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We recently rented this property with 3 families, and 7 children all under the age of 9. The property is spacious enough that we never felt like we were on top of each other. The kitchen is well stocked, and we were were able to find everything that we needed to go pseudo-gourmet with our dinner preparations. Great location, great views, and great for kids. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Families with young children

I normally do a lot of research but this portion of our trip was put together on a wing and a prayer primarily because Hank was so easy to work with. The photos don't do the place justice, the floor plan is more generous than they appear. Nice comfortable furniture, great kitchen, views to die for and very quiet. We toured our fair share of wineries, farmer's markets, olive and nut farms. One afternoon I was helping a nearby vintner hand press a ton of white grapes as the conversation meandered as if we had known each other for years. We did drive to the coast one morning for a tour of the Herst Castle at San Simeon, well worth the effort. Mainly though we took it pretty easy. The house lends itself to that. We took coffee, cocktails and more than a few meals on the porch being entertained each day by a highly territorial hummingbird we nicknamed the Sentinel and the affable ranch cat Vino. Truly a spectacular place, thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Fantastic accommodation! This quant log cabin-style home certainly exceeded our expectations. Stunning views of vista, house is surrounded by vineyards. Spectacular views of sunset with a lovely porch with settings for morning coffee or evening dinner, wine. Close proximately to wine tasting and Lake Nacimiento. Two wine tasting stops literally down the road from the house Listing and photos completely accurate. House was exceptionally clean, well organized, etc. The beds were comfortable. House was large enough to accomodate several guests comfortably. Owner completely available to answer questions and provide tips for tastings, eating and recreation. Favorite activities included wine tasting through the Peachy Canyon road, full of boutique and big-name wineries. Spectacular tastings.... easy access from the house. Have recommended to several of my friends and looking to book again in late fall.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I have stayed at this ranch during the summer for several years, and each time it is better and more memorable. We love Paso Robles, wine tasting, and going on Lake Nacimiento, so this location and home is perfect for for all three. Here are some of our favorite aspects of the ranch: 1. Location, Location!! This ranch is located on acres of land a little ways off the main drag. It is so nice to go on vacation and relax without all the crowds of hotel goers and traffic. Every morning we can wake up, enjoy some coffee on the porch, or go for a relaxing walk/run around the property. The ranch sits on top of a hill so the view is spectacular! 2. Vicinity to Wineries & Lake Nacimiento This ranch house is just West of downtown Paso Robles, so there are tons of options for wine tasting, there are even two tasting rooms within walking distance!! The ranch is also located next door to some vineyards for the local wineries. Since it is west of downtown, the ranch is also on the way to the lake! 3. Log Cabin Atmosphere, but still the comforts of home We really love the atmosphere this ranch has with the beautiful architecture, but still some great amenities. This is not going to be room service, or pay per view, but there is wifi :) Either way we love the vibe or this ranch!! There is so much more we could say...it really is a great experience!! Overall we love coming up to Rancho Deeluxe every year and would not stay anywhere else.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Out stay at Rancho Deeluxe was outstanding. The house is every bit what is describe and more. There was 8 of us and I am still getting messages from them thanking me for choosing this site; they all want to do it again. We spent many evening out on the back porch, admiring the view, drinking our wine and enjoying the cool evening weather. As for wine tasting and buying some excellent wine, you don't have to travel very far. Vines on the Merrycrest is just down the road and we went a number of times to get more wine. The location of the house is great, easy to get to wineries, the beach or just get into town (enjoyed the antique shops in Paso Robles). Hank, the owner was just amazing and so accommodating; I appreciate all the extra effort he put in to making sure our stay was enjoyable. The group has already asked if we will be doing it again, and we most certainly will. I would certainly recommend Rancho Deeluxe to anyone who enjoys great wine, and just wants to get away a relax.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

The house was lovely and just perfect for my family of 6 1/2 (baby due the end of July). We loved the surroundings, the peacefulness of the setting, and of course, the house itself. We felt very comfortable using it, and there was plenty of room for private time, for meals, for watching tv, for gagthering around and singing, and the one small hitch--avoiding stumping our toes near the fireplace! I would recommend this adventure to anyone!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My friends and I have stayed at Rancho Deeluxe 4 times in the past 4 years. All of us love the region and love the house. This house is perfect for groups of 10 people or more! Everybody can have their own space (5 bedrooms and a den!) or can spend time together around the dinning room table and the living room. The house has everything you need, a kitchen fully stocked, couches for lounging around, laundry machine in case your friend accidentally spills vodka on your one and only sweater that you brought on the trip, a bbq, and beautiful views. Out of my 4 times at the house, I've only gone out to eat once, the very first day of my very first stay, all the other times were meals at the house, simply because its more convenient (the house has everything), its cheaper, and can you imagine getting a table at a restaurant for 10 people? It is far enough to have a tranquil, romantic feeling, with vineyards all around you, yet close enough that its a few minutes drive from the center of town. Renting from the owner is truly a pleasure, easy to get in contact with him, very friendly, and he gets back to you very quickly!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed for a weekend to go to some of the Paso area wineries. Great location up in the hills so you can see local wineries and landscapes from the balcony. Interior is warm and cozy but with modern amenities. Plenty of space for several couples. It's clean and well maintained inside and out. Overall, it made our trip to Paso feel like home and turned what would have been a good weekend into a great one. We'll certainly come back next time we're in Paso.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We really had a great experience at Rancho Deeluxe. It was a perfect fit for our group of 8 adults. We could have used an extra bath (since the ladies took more time for hair, makeup, etc. Thanks Hank for the extra hair dryer) but we managed. The description was acurate and the photo's drew us to this well-maintained log home. The weather was cool at night and the wood stove was perfect. The owner was very helpful in acquiring more wood to keep us warm. The home was warmly furnished with a nice country/ranch setting. The kitchen was more than ample for our group and we found everything we needed to cook our evening meals. It's location was perfect for a before breakfast, 2 mile walk. The neighbors were very friendly and we were pleased that they felt welcome to join us for dinner and wine. The home is located close to several nice restaurants but best of all it is located close to 25 + wineries that were on our list to visit. Our group would certainly rent this home again. You want be disappointed!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

What an awesome place to get away from the city noise...great walks out the front door thru rolling hills....we met lots of local wine makers who were so welcoming and willing to answer any and all questions, while sharing their love of making wine...and staying at the "cabin" that has a feeling like home, without all the responsiblilities and distractions....a wonderful front porch to take a cup of coffee and a good book to read and enjoy the brisk morning air and a wonderful place to enjoy at the end of the day under the on moonlit sky and view the stars that you can only see in the country. With 5 bedrooms, there is room to spread out and have quiet time if needed, cozy kitchen area for family and friends to hang around and prepare meals in. It has a big front yard for our dogs to run around in and the kids to ride quads in. Over the years, our family has spent time their during all four seasons. With the lake nearby for summer recreation, it has something for everyone, all year long. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.... A++++++Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What an amazing cabin. Everything was very well appointed. True country charm with all the necessary conveniences. The location was ideal to go on wine tasting tours. Plenty of room for a larger group (we were about ten I believe) but also not too big for a quiet weekend for two. I'd highly recommend Rancho Deeluxe!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow! This is a VERY special place - worth every dollar. There is just something about its country location with the spectacular wine country views (not to mention proximity to numerous wineries) and its log cabin/homey feel that makes Rancho Deeluxe a true retreat. The photos do not do this place justice! It is impeccably well-maintained and the owner goes above and beyond to be helpful and answer questions. I love sitting on the porches (both in the morning with a book or magazine and in the evening with a glass of wine) and I also love going for walks on the nearby gravel roads, taking in the beauty of the vineyards and rolling hillsides. With 5 bedrooms, you can bring a group of friends or family to enjoy this beautiful cabin. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful place to relax, unwind, recharge the batteries, and enjoy all that the Paso Robles area has to offer! I look forward to MANY future visits to Rancho Deeluxe!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I loved it here. It's the perfect place to stay while wine tasting in Paso. While at the house, you feel as though you are hundreds of miles away from civilization. It's spacious and relaxing. We particularly enjoyed stargazing while enjoying a glass of wine. But the best part is that, despite feeling as though you are far away from it all, you are only a 5-10 minute drive from downtown Paso, its shops and restaurants. I highly recommend staying here the next time you visit Paso.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Our family had a great time at the ranch. The ranch was clean, tastefully decorated and fully equipped to handle the 10 of us. We enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful hill top views. Everything in the brochure was accurate. There was plenty of space so teenagers and adults could spread out; inside and out. A spacious family room and living room with a good size kitchen. The rooms where bright and airy with very comfortable beds. It is a wonderful place to get away and enjoy family and friends. We spend the day on the lake, swimming and fishing - we all had a blast! We stayed in and cooked one night as there is a great grocery store nearby with fabulous meats, cheeses and a huge assortment of local wines. We went wine tasting and found a great cheese store in town (Di Raimondo's). Sitting outside, sipping local wine and watching the stars come was just the perfect ending to a perfect day on a perfect long weekend get-a-way. I highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys la dolce vita with family and friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

Fantastic property as a base for exploring Paso Robles, San Simeon and the central coast. I have stayed here a few times and have loved it. The "cabin" (if a 5 bedroom house is a cabin) is nicely appointed, well maintained and make you feel right at home to minute you walk in. Both porches have a great views since the cabin is perfectly perched on a gentle rolling hill. Great base for wine tasting. If you book a wine tasting tour, which I recommend, if you ask the tour operator super nice sometimes they will pick you up directly at the house. If you are not cooling in the kitchen, I recommend checking out Artisan in town for dinner or brunch. Also, Pasolivo is great for olive oil tasting. The drive from Paso to the coast is spectacular through the rolling hills. Beautiful area and a great house to base adventures from or just chill out and relax. I will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This Ranch is a perfect getaway for wine tasting, water sports on the lake, visiting nearby attractions such as Hearst Castle and Pismo Beach, or simply hanging out at the Ranch enjoying the views and tranquility. While this home accomodates many guests, there is plenty of space to spread out within. The decor is charming, warm and inviting. I have stayed here on at least 3 occasions, spring and summer. I highly recommend this listing.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

When I think of time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, I return to memories of days and nights at this log home. The home is surrounded by the California vineyard/orchard version of Grant Wood's farmlands. Though exaggerated in those Iowa landscapes, we found the real thing at Rancho Deeluxe in the deeply defined hills that allowed our early morning gaze from the log porch to skim the misty hilltops on the way to faraway sunrises. The view was beautiful, the smells sweet. The house was spacious, clean and charming. The roads and walks near the area were filled with friendly neighbors, interesting sites and very few cars! The drive to Paso Robles was short and there were too many wonderful little shops and restaurants to mention in and around the town square. Highly recommended and I'm sure we will return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had rented Rancho Deeluxe for a friend's birthday weekend. Everything was perfect. Even the weather. We arranged for a wine bus to pick us up and take us wining one day. And planned to hang around the next, enjoying the views and visiting the coast, including Hearst Castle. I'd recommend picking up all your food and such in town and limiting the back-and-forth. Because once you sit down, you'll want to relax. The owners have done an excellent job giving suggestions to local places to get your goods and providing anything you'd need for your stay. We'll definitely be re-booking for this year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at Rancho Deeluxe for the week of Christmas, visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area, and had a fantastic time! We had kids with us (ages 7,5,4 & 3) and it's a perfect property for kids who love being outdoors. There is a great dirt path that goes around the house for bikes and then there is a fantastic trail that goes down into a little valley on the property that is just perfect for getting the kids some exercise and letting them go for "adventures"! For Christmas, the oldest two kids got little motorcycles and they had a blast riding them around the dirt paths. The house is nice enough and very well equipped for large families. There are tons of kitchen supplies (large pots/pans, etc.) and lots of extra sheets and blankets for all the rooms. We thought the wood burning heater just in the living room would be a challenge, but the whole house, including upstairs, stayed very warm even throughout the night.....and even with the windows in several areas letting some outside air in. The one thing we would caution others about is that you can hear everything through the walls of the house upstairs and downstairs so it's best if everyone turns in at night around the same time. Our kids all slept just fine though even with the extra noise of the still-awake adults at night. We also loved that the house has a main living room area where the TV is and where most people end up hanging out.....and a much quieter den in the far opposite end of the house for others who may want to read without a lot of interruption. The furniture is nice enough and well kept up, but not too fancy that you have to worry about breaking anything. Some of the beds were quite comfortable (the king and all the twins were great) and some were not very comfortable (the two double beds seemed fairly old and would be fine for 1 person but are a little challenging for 2 because they seem to sway a bit). We never saw any of the neighbors when we were there and they are not close at all to the house so it's very private. Overall, we loved it and we will definitely be back for another stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.
