Lakeside Loft/Chalet Apartment with Boat Dock on Lake Dora.
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Mount Dora
This area is so "laid back" with plenty to do. It is far enough from the direct hit of hurricanes yet the weather is warmer and having large expanses of fresh water make it ideal for flying my seaplane. Thats why they call it Lake County I guess.
LOFT location 15800 Fairview Point. Call Bob Toerner at 859-992-4909
Downtown Tavares is the County seat for Lake County. Several nice restaurants on Main street like Ruby Street Grille and O'Keefes Irish Pub.
Construction for the new Seaplane Base started in August 09. Actual runway is out in the water.
You can sit in Wooten Park and watch the planes land and depart or go to O'Keefes Irish Pub or Ruby Street Grille and sit outside to watch.
Go back 100 years and enjoy the natural beauty of the famous Dora Canal. Daily trips from downtown Mount Dora.

Great Romantic Getaway

When we were faced with several months working in Leesburg we were less than thrilled with the hotels in the area. Having a pet made it difficult. Then my wife found this place on VRBO and we couldn't have been happier. The owner was very accomodating. He even likes football - even if he is a Bengals fan. The loft was quite cozy and it was very homey. The shower is small, but quite adequate. This is one of the best assignments we have been on in a long time, thanks largely to this property. The immediate area was really great with great places for lunch like O'Keefe's Irish Pub and Al's Landing. Turn the other way and you are into Old Towne Mount Dora. Here there are many quaint little shops to explore, more places to eat, and even live theatre. Maybe we'll have another assignment here. I'm hoping so! Thanks, Bob!

We loved staying at this lovely place on the lake in Tavares, FL. Beautiful high ceilings and all the amenities of home. We really enjoyed sitting on the dock, watching the sunset and fishing. Tavares and Mt Dora are great places to visit and you could not find a better place to stay in the area. Thanks Bob.

My husband and I spent a weekend in this charming unit. It was all we hoped for and more. The unit itself was beautiful and very comfortable with any convenience you could want. The dining room looked out over the beautiful yard and Lake Dora....great place for a leisurly breakfast and a second cup of coffee while comtemplating the days activities. The yard was luxurious and well maintained and the boat house was just what we needed. Whether you have a boat or not the boat house is a wonderful addition to the units amenities. We loved the Chalet so much that we rented the house attached with some friends for the Labor Day weekend. We can't wait to spend some more time in this terrific rental.

We spent the Christmas week at this property in 2010. It is all the photos depict and then some. the property is gorgeous, and our stay was made comfortable and welcomed by a very nice host (Bob). Bob went out of his way to provide an enjoyable stay in spite of record low temps (Not exactly within his control). He went above and beyond to assure we were comfortable. I would highly recommend this property (and the Luxury lakefront house adjoining(Though we did not stay there, we did see it)). Bob was a great host, nice guy, and I would not hesitate to go back.

I booked the chalet for a second honeymoon and fishing trip. When we arrived, we were pleasantly suprised on how clean the property was. The owner couldn't have been more informative. He suggested some sights to see and some restaurants to visit. When we were done fishing for the day we pulled into the boat house (which was awesome) showered and ventured out into the city. Did some sight seeing and had excellant meals at the local diners. Can wait to book another vacation.

This was such a great find in a wonderful location - you have expectations before going to a booked destination that are often times greater then the experience this was the opposite - it is a place that far exceeds your hopes. It is clean, cozy, and the perfect lake location. My two daughters had the best time on the kayaks that are in the boathouse each morning and night - we sat out on the boathouse deck one night and watched shooting stars because this location is away from the city lights - that to me is "priceless" we will be going back sooner rather then later thanks to this find !!!! Thanks Bob

Wonder little chalet/loft vacation rental for the price. Beautiful little quite and safe neighborhood and great lake views absolutely perfect for any water lover's and boaters, or anybody just wanting a Central Florida Getaway. Unit was very clean and nicely maintained, attentive owner who lives in the connecting house. Unit was well stocked with the basics so we didn't have to scramble at 6am to find coffee or cream so some thought was put into stocking the unit, it is not bare bones and I appreciated that very much. Owner was on hand and very helpful and friendly through my entire stay but did not get in the way. Bathroom is quite small but sufficient for a short stay. We stayed with 3 people and had zero issues with the 3 beds, all in all a very nice place and I would not hesitate to stay there again (which I might do this summer) We took 3 Jet ski's out on the lake and kept them tied off right at the boathouse at night, spent the entire weekend out on the water, the Lake Dora and Harris Lake chain are excellent for basic boating and fishing. I would recommend this rental !
