Why the Owner Chose Del Mar

We found Del Mar to be unique, there is no other place like it on Earth! We have been visiting Del Mar since the 1980's. We absolutely love it here and hate leaving when it's time to go back home to Pasadena.

We are Horse Racing fans so as you can imagine one of our favorite places is the Race Tracks! And who can forget about the Fabulous Beach Del Mar has to offer! We have a great location we are right next to Great Restaurants, Shopping and of course the Beach! We walk everywhere and just relax and enjoy sunsets and friends.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo

It is perfect to be able to just cross the street and pass one home and you are on the sand. the proximity to the beach and restaurants and shopping, Seagrove park place for children to play on swings (all walking distance) easy to go back to unit to get food or use the restroom.
spacious living room/dining/kitchen for family and friends being together and then bedrooms down a hallway for privacy. very sunny bright unit with lots of windows, vaulted ceilings.

We were locked out of this Del Mar rental on the first night. My sister flew in from out of town and we drove from the Bay Area to Del Mar with four children. When we got there, we were locked out (we were given the wrong combination for key lock box and there was no answer at the only tel # we had). We had to find two hotel rooms, at our expense. The agent texted us the correct combination the next day. Once we got in, we found that this condo was a good place to stay with children. The bunk beds and being able to sleep four children in one room was nice. The location is great, a one block walk to a beautiful beach. We left the condo clean, however, we had to battle for over a month to get our deposit back (not to mention the night we paid for but couldn't get in). About a month later, instead of crediting our credit card back (as we had been repeatedly asking), we were charged again. Luckily we caught it. I suggest getting the insurance to protect you against wrongful denial of entry and false charges. This is relatively minor, but might be worth mentioning: We agreed to one price before the contract was faxed, but an additional $50 was tacked on at the last minute. This was our experience at this location. Other VRBO rentals have been a fantastic way to vacaction for years.

Owner response:This situation won't happen ever again. I fixed the code number on the rental agreement. i added 2 emergency telephone numbers besides my number. I reimbursed the tenant for the night she wasn't able to stay there. I now make it a point to verbally tell the tenant after i get paid where the hide a key is located. I have learned my lesson not to credit anyone's credit card. I never realized how long it takes for the refund to appear on the tenant's credit card. i send refunds via bank of America bill pay as soon as the cleaning lady let's me know nothing is missing or broken. i have a great system to ensure you will have a lovely time, from a cooks-delight kitchen with plenty of serving dishes to the internet, beach towels, cable television and the great bedroom for children with all the beds to sleep six, great location. Also, my charges are listed on the VRBO site and disclaimer that prices are subject to change with no notice.

We stay here every year and look forward to it. this unit has lots of windows and spacious open feeling, you can't help but relax.

It was so lovely. lots of room we spent my husbands birthday with friends, 8 adults and it was very comfortable. great kitchen for cooking and the beach was fantastic.
