3-Night Minimum Stay
Built in 2005, the Banana Cabana is a beautifully-decorated home just 3/10 mile from the beach. Shopping and dining are a mere 2 blocks away.
Upstairs you will find the living room, dining room, kitchen, master suite, one guest bedroom and bathroom. There are two more bedrooms,a bathroom and laundry room on the ground floor. The master suite offers a king bed, dresser and nightstands with beautiful natural stone tops, an Italian chair & ottoman, TV & DVD player. The walk-in closet has built-in shelving and drawers. Women will love the master bathroom with its jacuzzi, separate shower, and vanity complete with drawers for toiletries and a lighted makeup mirror.
The two main guest bedrooms each have queen beds, 5-drawer chests, nightstands and comfortable seating. There is a double-size futon/twin bunk bed combo in the kids room as well as a TV/DVD and XBox game set. Shelving in the closet for clothes. You will not have to live out of a suitcase in this lovely home! Porcelain tile and Berber carpet upstairs; tile downstairs.
The gourmet kitchen is well-appointed with beautiful dinnerware, flatware, and glassware (all for 12), Cuisinart food processor, coffee maker, blender, large electric griddle,electric skillet, toaster/broiler oven,knife set with block, heavy-duty hand mixer, spice caddy complete with 20 spices,laptop trays for casual dining, and an endless array of cooking utensils and gadgets. Complete set
of acrylic plates, bowls, glasses (even margarita & wine)for pool-side use. Lots of work space on beautiful black granite counter tops.
For entertainment, the Banana Cabana offers wireless internet access, 3 TVs with DVD players, an XBox game set (memory chip & extra controller), stereo cassette/cd player, various board games, a ping pong table w/equipment, and a collection of books. For beach or poolside fun, there is a large ice chest, softside cooler, and pool floats & toys.
Families with infants will enjoy the high chair and portable crib/play pen. The house sleeps nine; however you will find a rollaway bed for additional guests.
The garage is huge; although the owners retain one side for their vehicle, there is still ample space for the pingpong table and a second car. There is covered parking for two cars.
The Banana Cabana boasts incredible covered decks with tables and seating. Additional chairs & lounges are in garage. There is a stainless steel gas grill. By the pool you will find chaise lounges, and a large table/chair set. The 10x30 ft. pool has bench seating and jacuzzi jets in the shallow end.

My husband & I have lived out of the United States for the last 11 years, and the Banana Cabana is our home away from home. After living in Venezuela right on the Caribbean for 6 years, I knew we had to find a place in the States that would provide a similar warm, relaxing experience so we chose South Padre Island since it is as far south as we could get in Texas. Since I spend a few months each year there, the house is equipped with many amenities one usually does not find in rentals, so we target clients who will appreciate and care for our property.

We took our 4 adult children and 2 yr old grandson to the Banana Cabana and had a wonderful time! The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The owner was wonderful to work with. We'd had a bad experience last year with a VRBO property and were a bit aprehensive about trying it again but this was a wonderful experience. We were all talking about coming back next year before we left. I highly recommend this home for families.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

We stayed at the Banana Cabana June 18th-23rd 2011. The house was perfect, the pictures online did not do it justice, it is beautiful. I cannot think of anything you might need that the house does not offer except, if have a small child will want a baby gate for the top of the stairs we went to Walmart and purchased one. Everything is close by, can walk to beach if taking a lot of items, I would recommend driving the short distance. We fished and crabbed at the end of the street (about 1BLK) caught a 28" red fish, about 40 crabs , a sting ray and lots of unwanted seed weed :) Our kids loved going to see the sea turtles. If going deep sea fishing I would recommend taking something for motion sickness the swells were about 8'- 10' and our men got really sick but did bring back big fish. In short it is well worth the price to stay at this home. My Thanks to Toni and Mattie for being very helpful and nice. We will be back Pam

We had a wonderful time at the Banana Cabana, a perfect place for a family holiday with lots of room for everyone, a quiet neighborhood - yet central enough to walk to everything you need (including gelato!). The owners truly have thought of everything to make one's stay comfortable. Thank you! This was our first visit, but we'll be back!

"It was absolutely perfect! The beds were comfy beyond belief, the pool and patio were great. The grill worked perfectly, etc.; we truly enjoyed ourselves over the holiday weekend. The only comment I have is you need a toaster to toast bed, bagles, etc., as we could not find one. (The only constructive criticism we could muster!)We truly appreciate your allowing us to share your lovely vacation home. We will recommend it to anyone, and please feel free to use us as a reference." (NOTE: A toaster/broiler oven and pop-up toaster were immediately placed in the house.)
