Why crowd yourselves into a condo or hotel room, when you can stay in a 5 bedroom private home for the same price (or even less)? This home was built to be a place where you could enjoy spending quality time together, with lots of recreational opportunities.
Our family stayed in the home many times and created our own memories. When the original owners were looking for a new family to own the home - we leapt at the chance.

We had a great time and would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautiful setting, great accomodations, and activities for all seasons. We (5 couples) really enjoyed the beautiful lake and the close proximity of fantastic golf! The house was perfect for us and very well equipped. It was also great to have the central air with different zones to accomodate all of our preferences. The screened 3 season room was also nice for relaxing without bugs! The fire pit area was a routine evening gathering place for our group. I look forward to staying here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: MariBeth, We are thrilled you enjoyed your time at our lake home. We look forward to hosting your group again in the future! Howard

We had an absolute wonderful time on a winter vacation at Anchor Pointe. It is a beautiful house along picturesque Lake Wynne up in the north woods. It met all our needs: plenty of bedrooms, spacious great room, well equipped kitchen, big screen tv, wifi and attached garage. We even used the gas grill on the deck. It snowed 8 inches one night creating a winter wonderland and allowing us to hit some of the plentiful neighborhood trails with our snowshoes. It is only 10 minutes from Giants Ridge ski resort which with both alpine and nordic skiing is one of the better ski areas in the Midwest. We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We're thrilled that you had a great time staying with us and look forward to having you back soon.

Our stay at Anchor point was very relaxing and enjoyable. The listing description was very accurate. In the winter with snowy roads it was about an 8 minute trip over to the Giants Ridge ski area. We were able to take the kids swimming at the lodge, go skiing, and snow tubing. There are 2 restaurants at Giants Ridge that we ate at and if you are looking for pizza Vi's Pizza in Biwabik is very good! There is also a grocery store in Biwabik and the kitchen was very well stocked to make dinner at the house. The upstairs bedroom/bonus room was great for the kids as they had their own place to play. The owner was very easy to reach if you had any questions. I would definately recommend this home to anyone who enjoys the outdoors whether summer, winter, spring or fall. Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent a weekend at Anchor Pointe and had a wonderful time. It is just a few minutes drive from Giants Ridge. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. It was very easy to adjust the thermostats and find all of the light switches. We had 13 people here, plenty of room for everyone to eat dinner together at the table, lots of room for all of the cooks in the kitchen. Bedrooms were all quite spacious and cozy. The four teenage girls loved having their own "dorm room" upstairs away from the adults. WIFI was a big hit with them also. We made use of all the different social areas; puzzles on the downstairs game table, cribbage in the family room, wine and reminiscing in the great room. The owners were very accommodating to all of our questions and requests. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend home. The checkout procedure was easy to follow. Many thanks to Jim & Mel for renting this beautiful home to us.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a lovely stay at your home. I would rent again in a heart beat. The view of the lake from the deck is beautiful. We had a great fire our last night in the fire pit. The home was very clean when we arrived. The photos accurately reflected the many amenities of the home. We golfed both The Legand and The Quarry, they were spectaular. We biked the Mesabi bike trail around the area, that was very pretty. We took morning walks each day, it was a lovely area to get out and exlpore. The dishwasher was very loud and did a poor job of cleaning the dishes. There was a furnace fan or motor of some sort running the entire time we were there. It was very loud for the guests that slept downstairs.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Terri; Very glad you enjoyed the stay. We're not very happy with the dishwasher either and intend to upgrade out of it soon. As for the furnace fan - that something I'm still learning how to control and hope to have that rectified soon too. Thanks for your feedback - looking forward to having you stay again. Jim Update - 1/28/2013 - We've replaced the dishwasher with an upgraded model - VERY quiet and does a much better job - worthy to be called a "dishwasher" Thanks!

On our first day we arrived this lake home definitely took our breaths away. Photos do not do justice. Just seeing it from eye view was amazing.... Our group was a group of 16. The place was very spacious. Everyone did their own thing and was spreaded out, it didn't seem like there was 16 of us. We all loved grilling, sitting around the bonfire, and swimming off the dock. Howard, Thank you for great cummunications. You were really helpful, fast, and prompt with everything. Although the air was down during our stay and daytime was hot. We made it the best of it. I have to say during the nightime it was very cool and nice. Thank you for letting me know ahead of time about it being down. I would like to make a suggestion though. The ladder on the dock is not safe. Because nails/screws that holds it down are loose, you should get that fix. Otherwise everything was great. And we look forward to booking next year again! ~Bao and FamilyOwner response: Bao, we are glad to hear that your family had a great time at our lake home. We have already fixed the air conditioning system (our technician was waiting on a part to be mailed) and we have replaced the system used to attach the swim ladder to the dock. Thanks for the inputs. We work hard to correct any discrepancies to ensure our guests have the best possible experience.

We had a group of 12 and it was great. The house was spacious and clean. We rented a pontoon for two days, but it rained one of them. The water was great even in June.. It is a deep lake though. The kids loved jumping off the dock and not hitting anything...The direction to the place was good with details that were necessary. We had a car seat lost at the airport in Duluth and they had a hard time to find the place without the directions from the owner. The golfing was great and not far to go to. We all had a great time. Still didn't find the "Hot Tub" but the jacuzzi was great.... I will recommend this place to all my friends. Hope to come back soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Sorry about the lack of a hot tub. We have checked into it, but our insurance policy would skyrocket to the point where it is cost-prohibitive.

Why the Owner Chose Biwabik:
Mel and I took our family to this home many times and always felt so at home. When the family that originally built it decided to sell - they asked if we'd be interested in purchasing and we leapt at the opportunity.
