We rented this place for the weekend because my son was getting married in Occidental and we needed more space than a traditional hotel room. It was GREAT! Lots of open spaces and room for my son and his groomsmen to get ready for the wedding. The music library was awesome and provided the perfect mix of background music while the guys were getting dressed. The kitchen was plenty big and well stocked w/ cooking supplies. The bed in the master bedroom was SO comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub the night after the wedding to unwind and relax. The area surrounding the cabin is beautiful and we witnessed a deer coming into the back yard while we were sitting in the hot tub. The written instructions on how to get to the cabin were clearly written and necessary since my GPS couldn't locate the place. The owners were very easy to communicate with.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway.

The property is much lovelier in person. The cabin is truly romantic, it is spacious, rustic yet with modern amenities. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. We have rented both the house when we had our kids and the cabin. The owners have thought off every detail that made our stay relaxing and very comfortable. The location allowed us to be away surrounded by nature but at the same time close enough to the quaint little town, and nearby wineries and restaurants. We will be coming back regularly.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, pet owners, girls getaway.

We just returned from a great Labor Day/wedding weekend where we stayed at Redtail Meadows and used it as a home base for a group of 7-9 during a family wedding. We rented both houses so could sleep everyone. Both houses are nice, but the main house is perfect for a group to hang out in. Lots of comfy chairs and couches, bedrooms that can sleep up to 6 people comfortably, a very well-equipped and modern kitchen, great board games. It's like having a home away from home, on beautiful grounds. I would highly recommend for any family or group of friends or even just a couple who want a really relaxing getaway near many neat places.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, pet owners, girls getaway.

I thought this rental was OK but not amazing. We had a hard time getting the hot tub to work and couldn't find specific instructions for how to get it to turn on & off. We were also really looking forward to swimming in / laying out by the pool and it's not really set up well for that. It's completely shaded most of the day, cold, was not super clean, the area around the pool was not swept and there was only one or two lounge chairs. It's too cold to swim in except for on the very hottest days, and doesn't get enough sun for sunbathing. Otherwise the house and grounds were lovely and stocked with pretty much everything we needed. But if the pool is important to you, your expectations may not be met.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We rented both homes at Redtail Meadows for the weekend of July 4 and had an amazing stay. Both houses provided all amenities needed and than some. The expanse of land was beautiful as was lazing by the pool. We are frequent renters of California vacation homes and have rented tens and tens of homes and this was voted as the all time favorite. If you are looking for rustic comfort and relaxtion this is the place. We will most certainly be renting this property again in the future.Did you find this review helpful? just spent a wonderful weekend in the main house surrounded by bird song and fresh clean country air. The owners have thought of everything for a relaxing or invigorating getaway. exquisite surroundings, a sunny backyard, endless activities and charming town nearby couldn't be better.bring binoculars to identify birds and watch whales at the ocean 8 miles down the road or never leave the paraidise.Did you find this review helpful? I rented the house and cabin for a Girl's Weekend for myself and 5 friends. The setting was absolutely perfect for a relaxing couple days. We especially enjoyed dining on the back patio of the house and lounging by the pool. Every one of my friends said that they'd want to come back and I am planning on renting the cabin for a getaway weekend. The property exceeded my expectations and I will definitely return, and I believe my friends will too!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed in the Quail's Nest Cabin and absolutely loved it. It is a traditionally constructed wood cabin in a serene wooded area with all of the modern conveniences. Cozy, but with plenty of room. We loved coming in to the smell of the beautiful wood. It is far enough from Occidental to feel like you're getting away, yet close enough to town for coffee or dinner. The Cabin and Main house are situated such that you never know the other is there except for when entering the property. The Cabin is surrounded by numerous decks that each get sun at different times during the day. We used the centrally location as a jumping off point to explore the many cute towns and wineries in Sonoma County. The owners were incredibly easy to deal with and accommodating. We recommend the Cabin to anyone and will definitely be going back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
