We enjoyed our stay very much in Lower Matecumbe Key at the Jetson House. Great location on the Gulf side with direct beach access. Windsurfed off the beach right behind the house everyday. Single room apt is very well equipped and great for a couple. The neighborhood is peaceful and nice for walking or bicycling. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and this location is central to the middle keys. We are looking forward to our next stay. The owner was very helpful in explaining the details of the apt and surrounding area. We are looking forward to our next stay.

My wife and I recently visited the Keys for the first time. We stayed 3 nights at the Jetson House and then headed south to Key West for another 3 nights (Orchid Key Inn - outstanding!) before returning home. The Jetson House was clean, attractive, and adequately furnished (be sure to bring your own soap). We had a pleasant stay, but on our next trip will probably spend more days in Key West. Although the accomodations were very nice, we felt the pricing was high compared to our accomodations in Key West.
Owner response:There is no comparison at all between Jetson's apartment and a room at Orchid Inn in Key West. The view from the bed at Jetson's apartment is the beach and Florida Bay and the view at Orchid Inn is the wall of the room. Our guests are the only ones on a beach because we own it and Orchid Inn is nowhere near the water. Orchid Inn is located on Duval street and it could get noisy from people partying, the Jetson's House is 1/2 mile off US1 and in a very private neighborhood. Sunsets off the beach, kayaking of the beach, swimming and snorkeling off the beach + dockage for your boat is what you get at jetson's House apartment.

The apartment is absolutely adorable and very nicely done. The view is spectacular! We just spent a week here and really loved it. Jerry and Lisa were very friendly and helpful. Every thing was immaculate and modern. We've been coming to the Keys for years and I have to say this is one of the best locations we have ever stayed at.

This spot was exactly what we were looking for for our honeymoon. My wife and I enjoyed the privacy and the spectacular setting of our private beach with a perfect sunset view. We also enjoyed that we were near to restaurants and things to do, but not in any of the really "touristy" areas of the keys. We had such a great week... we will remember it fondly for the rest of our lives!

We stayed a week in April 2010. If you love the beach, cherish your privacy, and appreciate good architecture and modern design you'll love, love, love this house! Even though the rental is only the lower level apartment - which is plenty large enough for two - you'll still enjoy floating in the Gulf and looking back at this fabulous house. Jerry and Lisa, the owners, have done a great job stocking the apartment with everything you'll need for your stay - we love to cook and did just fine with all the equipment provided. Comfy bed, great shower, and oh....that beach, your very own beach. Great overall location just down the street from Anne's Beach (if you want to experience the ocean side) and the Islamorada Tennis Club (affordable rates for the week and Gary will match you up with others to play). We ate in mostly after shopping at Publix in Marathon and buying our meats at the Trading Post up the street. We got lobster, shrimp and stone crab from Mr Lobster right around the corner from the house and it was wonderful and affordable. We can't wait to come back!

We spent two weeks at 'The Jetson House' at the end of September, beginning of October 2009, and had an absolutely wonderful time. Just like other reviewers, we ended up spending relaxing afternoons on the beach chilling out in 90 degree+ temparatures. The property is a large studio, which catered for all our requirements. The bathroom is very modern and spacious, and like whole of the property, spotlessly clean. There is a BBQ at the rear of the property, which we used most evenings, whilst watching the beautiful sunsets. The owner, Jerry, was very helpful with his local knowledge and was available whenever we needed him. This is a wonderful place to get away from everything and to experience your very own private beach. We had such an enjoyable time and, made more new friends, we hope to return soon.

In September we spent a week at the beautiful Jetson House. The apartment is providing everything you need and is arranged in great detail. The view is outstanding combined with the private beach the Jetson House is an awesome place!. We explored the sourroundings going out with the kayak. Saw nice fish while snorkeling and as we went on planning what to do next we had to face that it was already our last sunset at the wonderful private beach. Jerry, the host, welcomed us very friendly and helped where he could. He also knows a lot about local spots to go to although we didn´t took much advantage of this. Jerry is definetly a reliable and nice person to deal with! Thanks, you´ll hear from us!

My husband and I stayed at this property during our recent honeymoon (8-24 through 8-31, 2009). It was incredible! The owner's attention to detail is outstanding. The apartment was immaculately clean upon arrival and the furnishings are top notch. There is a very handy remote controlled blind which makes for a dramatic wake up moment. The bathroom is super modern with a beautiful sink. I was most please when an item I needed would cross my mind and I'd open a drawer and there it would be. The owner is very friendly, super- attentive and always willing to please. You will be more than satisfied with your stay. The view of the Florida bay is just wonderful. We sat out every evening and enjoyed the sunset. One evening we were greeted by dolphins as we enjoyed a kayack. We also befriended a manatee. We snorkeled right off the beach and truly enjoyed the water. On land we were thrilled to witness the comings and goings of sand crabs going about their business. We visted several local restaurants and were always happy. The Taveneer was excellent. We also also enjoyed Ma's Fish Camp for casual lunches. Lazy Days was nice. Pierre's was expensive, but lovely. You must hit the Midway Cafe- great breakfast spot. We also enjoyed Mangrove Mike's for breakfast. One of the most enjoyable aspects of Islamorada was the lack of chain restaurants. If you like "local" then you'll love Islamorada. As Buffalo, New York resisdents we really found it hard to leave and have been fanticizing about moving there ever since. If you are interested in scuba diving the folks at Bud and Mary's were very friendly and have everything you need to rent. We dove Aligator Light and had a great time. Look no further. Rent this property. You will be utterly thrilled!

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week at the Jetson House. It was just what the DR ordered for a relaxed, quiet escape vacation. The private beach is just amazing, the apartment is perfect for 2 people and the view is astounding. The sunsets are not to be missed!. We watched most from the comfort of the beach chairs provided chest high in the water with drink in hand. Jerry provided great info on the local hot spots and was a wonderful host. You must eat at the Hungry Tarpin atleast once on your visit....food is excellent. I hate to write too many glowing remarks as I want to be able to book again in the future. We'll be going back really soon!

My partner Steve and myself rented The Jetson house for two weeks over June/July and had the most wonderful time. It really is the coolest house on the block, and having our own personal piece of the beach to watch sunsets and frolicking dolphins just added to the magic. Compact inside without being cramped, the accomodation is perfectly adequate with an extremely comfortable bed and great size shower. Having the kayak was a fun addition though I think should have been included within the price of the rental, as is the gas barbecue and laundry facilities. If we ever return to the Keys it would be to stay back at The Jetsons. No doubt about it.
