The property owner is great to work with - responsive and informative. The property is clean and cute, and has most everything you would need for your stay, including towels, bedding, dishes, pots and pans, stove, fridge/freezer. There's a deck for sunning outside with water views both front and back. The yard and deck are fully dog enclosed. Fireplace is nice for chilly nights, and starter blocks and wood are included. For tech folks, Wifi is available as is a small TV with DVD/VCR. Access to the beach is directly across the street, but this isn't really a walking beach as it's strewn with large debris from logging, and when the tide comes in the beach is gone. Neighbors are close but friendly. We were in the off season so not too many were around, and the road is nice to walk. Stores are about a 10 minute drive, so while this location feels isolated, things aren't too far away. The better restaurants are in Stanwood, which is 30-40 minutes. The only thing lacking was soap for bathing, so be sure to bring your own. Would definitely stay again.
Owner response:Response to comments about the beach: Our guest visited in the winter when the tides are high and there is a lot of driftwood which the tides bring in. The tide does go out during the day and the beach is walkable and everyone enjoys beach combing. Adults and children enjoy walking and playing on the driftwood logs. From April to September, we install a 20' ramp over the driftwood to allow easy access to the beach. Response to the distance to Stanwood for restaurants: the drive is only 15 minutes, not 30-40 as this guest mentioned. If you drove 30-40 min. to the North, you would be in Mt. Vernon and if you drove 30-40 min. to the South, you would be in Everett.

We loved Suzanne's sweet cabin - the perfect get-away for the weekend. We especially liked the complete furnishing of inside and outside spaces so there were many comfortable choices for viewing the water and birds, socializing and eating, or roasting marshmellows for smores. Although only an hour from our city home, we felt we had really been away when the weekend was over. You can rely on Suzanne's description of the place. We shall return. JH

Nearly at the end of a quiet dead-end road, facing a gorgeous beach on Port Susan Bay and Mt. Rainier, with a magical lagoon in the back that appears and disappears with the tides. Small and compact, it manages to contain everything one could want for a getaway and more, and is tastefully as well as totally equipped. The kitchen is outfitted with every conceivable utensil, pots, pans, bowls, tasteful flatware and dishes, baskets, and appliances. The living room space has everything from a large dining room table to comfy seating. There is a TV, phone, and high-speed Ethernet access. There are outdoor beach chairs, foot rests, tables, umbrellas galore. We were a family of 3 adults late 50s-60s, and 2 small grandkids. We played on the beach, in the water, played ball on the private area overlooking the Bay, alternated between the front and back decks, made semores in the fire pit, watched eagles, the moon, the sun, the stars. And it doesn’t require a ferry and is so close to civilization yet so removed. A perfect getaway for all ages and combos. Everything in the listing description is accurate. The owners are so generous in sharing this magical place!

What a great weekend getaway. I took my group of four Girl Scouts and my co-leader for a weekend away. What a great time everyone had. The cabin was perfect for our group, very clean and organized. The girls had a great time clam digging out front and we had a feast of clams both nights we were there. It was a very fun and relaxing weekend. We even browsed through the neighborhood garage sale on Saturday. We hope to come back again soon. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

We very much enjoyed our visit and want to thank the owner for providing such a clean and organized cottage for our stay. She has put in a lot of thought to having everything necessary for a comfortable stay and to assist her guests in leaving things in good order for the future. This gives us great confidence that if we come again, everything will be just as good! My husband and I have stayed in many properties in the US and in Europe, and we can't remember ever having everything such a well-prepared and organized property. We also appreciated the very comfortable bed and warm covers. Two very comfortable armchairs are available for watching cable TV, and there is deck furniture both out front and out back to take advantage of the morning and afternoon sun. Our Wheaten Terrier was very happy out in the yard and keeping watch on the front deck. We saw bald eagles and heron fishing in the bay. This is a great place for relaxing.

We had a wonderful two day stay in this clean, well equipped cabin. The views from the front windows were beautiful. My family and I spent hours on the beach looking for shells. The beach was private and very quiet! We even saw several bald eagles!! We enjoyed every minute in the cabin and wish we had had more time!

Our arranging a weekend here for our first vist to Camano Island came through a touch of serendipity. And because of Suzanne's care and attention, we had the time of our lives. As a landlady she sets the bar VERY high - anticipating any guest's needs. The cabin was a charming, comfortable, cozy pied-a-terre for our exploration of Puget Sound and everything exceeded our expectations. Even Mother Nature cooperated, giving us crisp, cloudless days filled with sunshine. But even if she hadn't, there would have been no possiblity of suffering from "cabin fever."

We could not have asked for better weather on a February weekend. Saw an eagle each afternoon; made a cozy fire each evening; sat outside; walked the strip!! Even found a nice yarn shop so I could crochet on the deck. And a must - a comfortable bed. The only drawback~~ we only booked two nights.

Wow! This couldn't have been better and may become a family tradition. We spent Christmas weekend at this truly charming, peaceful cabin and had the best holiday ever. The cabin is remarkably spacious, the kitchen is very well outfitted and the views are stunning. Our terrier loved the fenced yard and deck and the humans loved the comfy furniture, lovely decor and cozy, warm wood stove. Highly recommended and the thoughtful owner can't be beat, either. Thanks, Suzanne!

Great Thanksgiving in this peaceful cabin. It was so clean and well equipped for everything we needed. We felt like we drove further then the 55 miles it took from our N Seattle home because it was so calm and beautiful.
