If you manage to leave the relaxing atmosphere of the lake, nearby cities such as Mackinaw, Cheboygan, Harbor Springs and Petoskey offer a small town feel with a friendly atmosphere.
For the kids there is miniature golf and water parks within a short drive. There are a dozen inexpensive to world class golf courses within a 30 minute drive. Shopping also abounds in Petoskey's gas light district, downtown Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City.
If you are looking for a great day trip it is only a short ride to the ferries that will take you to Mackinac Island or the Mackinac Bridge to the upper peninsula.

Great area and great cottage. Enjoyed the neighbors and the chipmunks. The dock was a great place for sunning and the lake is awesome for skiing and tubing. Would definitely rent this place again. New appliances and everything was clean.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

Sept 1, 2012- October 31st,2012 & April 1st- May 29 2013 : $1200/week June 1- June 28, 2013 : $1400/week June 29- Sept. 7, 2013: $1500/week $250 refundable security deposit on all rentals. Half down due upon booking. Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.

About the owner: I grew up vacationing in Northern Michigan and we went ' Up North' several times a year for both summer and winter vacationing. My love for this area has only grown as I have been able to share it now with my husband and children who have also fallen in love with going 'Up North'. We chose Burt Lake because it has many great qualities. It is a great all sports lake which is great for tubing, jet skiing and water skiing. The size of the lake keeps it from getting congested with other boaters even on the busy holiday weekends. Burt Lake is known for it's great fishing and because it is part of the inland waterway. It is a great day trip to travel up Indian River or through Crooked River and the locks. Burt Lake has very clear water and a firm sandy bottom ( not mushy - your feet will not sink in!!). Petoskey and Mackinaw are within a short drive. Burt Lake is a very peaceful place to vacation!!
