    The lake house is fantastic! Even though I grew up in the area, I had no idea of the beautiful setting just five minutes away from the highway. The panoramic view of Wheeler Lake added immensely to the tranquility of our visit. The house is lovely and we could not have asked for a better place to relax and visit with family. We look forward to the next opportunity! PS. As an Auburn fan, I was hesitant about renting "Bama" house, but was happy to see the sign on the front door painted in orange with blue trim. Something for everyone!

    We really enjoyed our leisurlely stay. Plenty of supplies abound in every way. First Aid ointment for a cut to plenty of towels and shared shampoos! Our two young children delighted in useing the toys and drawing supplies as well as the HUGE number of videos to enjoy at night. It was a nice place to wait while our sons enjoyed Space Camp.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

    We had a great weekend at Bama House! We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday with family from Kentucky. It was a perfect place to hangout and take turns on the boat. The house was so cute and completely furnished with anything you could possibly need. Great location with beautiful views!

    Our stay at the Bama House was excellent. The house is fully furnished with everything needed for a great stay at the lake. We felt like we were certainly at home. The owners were very cordial and helpful prior to our arrival, and the house is absolutely perfect. My wife and I and our three teenage daughters enjoyed every moment. We spent a couple of days on the lake and a couple of days shopping. Our nights were spent relaxing and inhaling the lake breeze. We will make plans to stay again.

    We have greatly enjoyed our stay, after our 2nd Summer in a row! This little slice of heaven has the best view on the Tennessee River. The sunny disposition of the home is so inviting and makes you feel like you never want to leave. It is well stocked with everything you could possibly need allowing you to fully relax. Surrounded by farm land and rolling hills, the drive in is beautiful! Nestled in a quaint town with a charming downtown area... but seriously, who would want to leave that river view! When given the choice between the beach and coming to the river house for vacation, my 3 kids choose the river house unanimously! That says it all.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    Bama House continues to be a favorite get-away for our family! This hidden jewel is the perfect place for kids and adults to have tons of water fun, as well as recharge our batteries from the hectic pace of a big city. The nearby boat and jet ski rental options are great. It’s so convenient to come out of the house and down the boat house stairs to our awaiting water chariots! With a packed lunch and a full cooler of beverages, we stay on the water all day. I especially like how clean Lake Wheeler is - and the temperature is perfect. Somehow, after being out all day, the kids still had the energy to jump off the top of the boathouse - over and over again! This was perfect while we grilled out and then enjoyed scenic sunset dinners. We loved to cap off the evening sitting around the firepit – talking about the day’s activities and making S’mores. Wonderful family memories! Bama house is beautifully decorated in cheerful colors, pristine, and has all the comforts of home. A fantastic value and well worth every penny we paid.

    My family and I drove a long way with many stops for bathroom breaks and just to stretch. When we got to Bama House we were so tired, I thought everybody was going to crash. But when we walked in the place was more beautiful than the pictures. The view was magnificent. I just sat in a rocker and relaxed and watched the lake. The kids went on an adventure and found everything they needed and wanted. My sisters were amazed at how well stocked the Bama House was. A place for our Ipods, wood for the bon fire, although we bought a box, my uncle used it and more, and was very happy. I called the owners to tell them we were there. The owners were so nice. When I told her we were having a bar-B-Q, she explained to me the grill was not working. Before the night was over the wonderful neighbors brought over a brand new grill. Thank you so much, because the bar-B-Q was a large part of our hosting for our guest who was at hotels. When the trip was over my son said this was the best time he had had in long time, because he felt relaxed and comfortable. I thank you so much for being such great hosts to my family and myself. WE LOVED THE BAMA HOUSE.

    Property is absolutely gorgeous, a must see! Very, very clean! Everything you could possibly need while on vacation is already in the home! Owners are amazing and so helpful! Neighbors are extremely kind! Would recommend everyone stay at Bama House! :) My fiancé and I stayed a month and plan to stay again if back in the area!

    We recently spent a week in Bama House while our 10 year old son attended Space Camp. We have other sons ages 13, 7 and 13 months and Bama House was PERFECT for our family. It's quiet and peaceful and doesn't have all the modern trappings that we really needed to escape! Not hearing a phone ring? Priceless. :) The house has absolutely everything. In fact, we actually made a bet to that the house did not have (blank) and of course....it was there. From hair dryers to spices to whatever else you could possibly need. Everything was clean and well-kept. Our boys had an absolute delight playing in the children's room. Lets just say there is a TON of goodies in there for children. :) We caught a few crappie and enjoyed all the local restaurants, too. The neighbors are such sweet, caring people. I was sad when we left! All in all, just a wonderful getaway.

    What a wonderful getaway! Two families, 6 kids under the age of 9, and still we managed to relax and "decompress" during our stay at Bama House. The accommodations were perfect for us--plenty of sleeping room. The view is gorgeous, the water is wonderful, and the fishing was great, too! The house was also convenient to Huntsville and the NASA Space Museum, another plus for the kids. The owners have taken great care to ensure that guests at Bama House are as comfortable as possible. We look forward to returning, hopefully sooner than later...

    Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

    We recently stayed at Bama House for a 2nd visit. Both times our goal was to have a good time with close friends in a non-stressful environment. Both times far exceeded our expectations. I'll focus on our 2nd visit since 10 days later we stayed in a rental home in another state where the expectations weren't met very well. Bama House not only has a wonderful view of Lake Wheeler, the inside of the home has beauty everywhere you look. The other home was in an exceptional area but you had to travel for the great views and the decor inside the home was just OK. Bama House has provisions available for guests to share so that your 1st day doesn't have to be spent in the stores. The other rental had only salt & pepper, artificial sweetener, & coffee filters. They didn't have napkins but thank goodness they did have toilet tissue. At Bama house we were able to forget our day-to-day hassles and just relax either outside on the hammock, in lounge chairs on the patio area, or in rocking chairs around the outside fire pit. When we wanted to be more active, we swam in the lake or took boat rides. We had a truly marvelous time and will highly recommend Bama House.

    This is a beautifully -appointed house with spectacular water views. Immaculately clean, and fully furnished with everything you could possibly need ;linens, towels, spices, kitchen equipment, etc. We had a wonderful time, reading and relaxing on the lawn overlooking the lake. Friendly, quiet neighbors, great place for a family get-away. Swimming off the dock was great and sitting around the campfire at night was something to look forward to. Pictures accurately depict the beauty and charm of this waterfront property. We definitely hope to return and would highly recommend it to a friend or relative.

    Imagine yourself totally relaxed without a care in the world...That is what's in store for you the second you step through the doors of The 'bama House...I had to physically shut my mouth when I walked through this immaculate home complete with everything you could possibly need. I felt like someone on Extreme Home Makeover when they first walk through the door! The way the home flowed, the beautiful sunsets, the romantic glow of the candles in the fireplace as we sat and felt the warm fresh air blow in from the lake. I couldn't believe how beautiful this place was and how reasonable the price was. If you have a family and want to make some amazing memories, this is A MUST! If you are on a romantic getaway, you can snuggle up by the fire pit and enjoy some Smores under the stars. And if you forget something, no worries, I know they have extras hanging around. The neighbors were so kind and helpful and the owners were outrageously considerate, even calling to make sure we had everything we needed. Infact, we still shoot emails back and forth...I am so impressed and recommend this magical place for any getaway you desire. There were even baby birds in a nest. We watched their little mouths raise and open as we whistled...I will be back with no reservation...BOOK NOW, you will be TOTALLY satisfied :) -Meredith

    We have stayed at the Bama 4 times over the past 12 months sharing our experience with family..... young and old. Everyone has had such a great time. The view is amazing sun up and sundown. The house is just as pictured and is well stocked for all your needs. It is very clean and well maintained whenever we arrive. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay more comfortable. The lot is level so the kids can play safely both in front and back. There are only a few steps down to the lower level of the boat dock where the grandkids have caught many fish off the dock and have made some great memories. The bigger "kids" have also caught some huge catfish from the boat ! (60 and 65 lbs) They are hoping for triple digits next time. We can't really decide what is better, the sunsets and the campfire at night or the early morning coffee watching the sun come up. This has been our favorite place to go to unwind and we never want to leave. We know you would love it too.

    We had agreat time at the Bama house.Everything was as you said.We have three grandkid that enjoyed it all the water ,dock were we fished an swam. youre nieghbors are so kind when we got there the battery in the boat was dead George helped with abatter charger. the fire pit was enjoyed also. there we all sit nigth made smores and enjoyed the fire youre house is alsome with the view from the and faimly room deck thank you bonnie&don&grandkids

    Thanks again for letting us rent the Bama house. We had such a great weekend at your beautiful place! The weather was amazing and we had family and friends stop by all weekend to say hello. We were sad to leave and you made us feel like we were just staying at a friend’s place for the weekend. We hope to come back sometime soon!

    We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely home. My son and his family came up from Mobile for three nights. The kids took turns sleeping in the house and in the motor home. We also took the motor home to Huntsville for the Space Center. Your house is amazingly supplied. I have stayed in many vacation rentals and have never seen anything like the way this one is outfitted. The house itself was perfect. It was just as advertised. Everything, particularly the location and the lack of steps everywhere, were just what I needed. Thanks and I may see it again next summer!
