This outstanding apartment combines 19th century Greenwich Village charm with 21st century comfort and convenience. Huge windows (ceilings at least 10 ft high) give fine view. Place was spotless on arrival and easy to keep clean and neat. For a do-it-yourself stay, location could not be better. Food market, drug store, wine shop, and same-day laundry are around the corner. Nearby restaurants, some open 24/7, offer full range of cuisines and prices. A few-minute walk reaches three main subway lines, including one to Metropolitan, Guggenheim, Frick, and other Museum Mile attractions. Around corner, a city bus route provides quick service to SoHo, Tribeca, Wall Street, and Staten Island Ferry. We found HomeAway listing correct in all respects. Owner cheerful and helpful. Much as we’d like to keep it to ourselves, we have no hesitation recommending this place to others.

This was our 2nd visit to NYC, last time we lived in Midtown and I must admit that Greenwich Village is much better! If you like to walk (as we do) in Manhattan, it is close to everywhere. Nearby Soho is magnificent!!! Quiet area with plenty pubs & restaurants. The apt itself is big as for NY standards, clean and cosy. One star minus, for the moskitos, no idea where they were coming from but there were many of them, too many... But generally, we recomend this apt to all guests:)

We had a wonderful time in the city in late March 2011. This apartment was very clean and exactly as advertised. The management was wonderful to deal with, very friendly. We will never stay in a hotel again. Renting this apartment was like being at home. Thanks again for everything.

The apartment was exactly as on the pictures, the fact it's on the 4th level wasn't a problem. Location is simply perfect in any ways. Everything you could expect is directly in short walking area. As for restaurants, shops and transportation. Rebecca has even resolved the problem we couldn't arrive in time due to winterstorm at arrival date, by shifting the dates. The only point I would point is that the central heating need to be upgraded, because temperature inside of the apartment was impossible to manage, and very hot. Planet Earth would be grateful:-) But for everything we have now our memories full of nice images and souvenirs we will never forget. Thank you for your kind attentions, Rebecca. We will surely come back as soon as possible. Daniel and Carine

I recently visited NY with three friends, and we stayed at this wonderful apartment. It is in the perfect location for walking to Greenwich, and lovely cafes and restaurants, and also the wonderful Lion restaurant, is just at the bottom of the street. It really felt like a home away form home, and I would definitely come back. Thank you very much for a great stay.

We stayed here for 3 weeks in October, 2010. We had a fantastic time, walked all over Manhattan. Everything about the apart is exactly as you see on the net. It's clean, quite (we slept in most days till 10-11am,) there is a Supermarket, Bank, Chemist, Bottle Shop etc etc, all within 1/2 block. Only 10 min stroll to Union Sq green market and the free wi-fi and cable tv all worked a treat. Yes, there are 3 flights of stairs, but you get used to it. Thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a 1 Bed NY experience, and we can't wait to go back, of course we would stay here again

The owner is very kind and helpful and she also speak sspanish. The Ap. is full furnished and very clean. The position is great, It's close to the subway station (R, W, N, 8th street) in the heart of Greenwich. Near the Ap. there are many restaurants and supermarket. I recommended it

What a discovery! A very spacious (for NYC!) flat with nice high ceilings, lots of light, very comfy bed and sofabed, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Flatscreen TV and DVD player are a bonus, but weather permitting you'll spend a lot of time on the lovely terrace - the perfect place to sip wine before an evening at one of the area's many restaurants and bars. The subway is within easy reach and the street itself is quiet - the apartment is at the back of the building so it's very serene. The host Rebecca couldn't be more helpful and I must say, having stayed in many places in NYC over the years, this is by far the best. BOOK IT NOW!!!
Owner response:People who enjoy the city but want the feel of a neighborhood enjoy this apartment very much. The location is close to every subway line and the legendary Washington Square Park has recently re-opened and it is a great benefit as it is only one block away.

stayed here for a week with my husband and 2 children (ages 5 and 2). the kids slept in the bedroom and we had the pullout sofabed which was pretty comfy for a sofabed. linens provided were luxuriously soft. the apartment was spacious for the four of us and the balcony was a nice place to relax with coffee or a drink. the apartment faces the back and is super quiet even with windows open. the 50-odd stairs are fine if you are reasonably fit and the kids had no problem with them. the high speed internet was a HUGE plus. the only problem we had was with the water pressure - most noticeable when taking a shower - and controlling the temperature was hard. also the toilet had problems flushing, also probably due to water pressure. but this is not too unusual in older buildings. the age of the building adds to its charm. we would definitely stay here again.
Owner response: This is a great location for a family as it is very quiet and cozy. The kitchen is a great help when you are traveling with kids. We are very good at fixing any problems when they arise.

This is a really great apartment in a perfect location in Manhattan. There were 4 adults and a 2year old and we were very comfortable. Rebecca is very, very accommodating. One word of caution: this is a 4th floor apartment in a no elevator building. Climbing the stairs was an issue for me with a bad knee. Other than that, it is close to the subway and in walking distance to great places to eat (especially cupcakes!). You can't go wrong staying here.

This was our first trip to New York, and the apartment was everything we could have hoped for. The location was great, and it was fun to stay in an actual neighborhood. The apartment was beautiful as was the view from the balcony. We only had two staying, but the apartment was spacious and could have accomodated four easily. The bagels from Bob's around the corner were excellent. Thanks for a great weekend!
Owner response:Come and discover New York and stay in the the oldest neighborhood in New York City. The apartment has great light, it is quiet, and has all amenitities including cable tv and internet plus you are blocks away from all major subways. Broadway is 15 minutes away and so are most major attractions. There are lots of great restaurants for all tastes and budgets. Owner

This cosy apartment bang in the middle of Greenwich Village was perfect for our honeymoon in New York! The owners were welcoming and helped us with restaurant recommendations and neighbourhood tips. The location is fantastic, the aparment clean, quiet, comfortable and the lovely balcony a bonus. Much better than a poky hotel.
Owner response:This apartment offers the ideal space for newly weds. It is very quiet and has beautiful views of all the interior gardens from the surrounding townhouses which you can appreciate even better from your own terrace. Very Romantic! Owner

Back in August it was suggested to me that I try out one of the apartment vacation rentals offered in Manhattan rather than stay at the hotel where my conference was being held. It had never occurred to me that such a thing was even an option. Wow it made me regret all those wasted years in hotels! The apartment is amazing on many levels. So much charm with all the modern conveniences. The amenities are exactly as advertised. The neighborhood proved to be much quieter than I expected and is convenient to everything great about the village. I felt very safe and the accommodations felt like home away from home. There are many excellent restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance and the landlord couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. It is also a short walk to two trains that took me everywhere I needed to go in the city. I recommend this charming apartment enthusiastically.
Owner response:If you are interested in paying less but getting more space and comfort with more privacy, this is the apartment for you. Landlord

From the quiet, active, close-to-everything location to the shopping and restaurants nearby to the terrace and comfortable beds (queen bed and even the sofa bed), this apartment worked out perfectly for my husband, our daughter and me. It's walking distance to NYU, great bistros and cafes, and subway stops to take you anywhere in the city. The apartment was clean and bright with a great layout for us to relax after full days of seeing the sights and people of New York. Our daughter loved taking a break from the crowded and busy city "back at the apartment." The owners, being on site were easy to contact and flexible and amendable to meet our needs. They also gave great suggestions for places to eat and good running routes. We'd definitely stay again and would recommend this to our friends. Fran
Owner response:This apartment is perfect for those of you who want to enjoy New York but also want a good night sleep. It is located in a real neighborhood so you can get a sense of how new yorkers live. Owner

Used to spend several days in NYC each year, we choose this time to be in Greenwich. The appartment is a nice place to be, if you dont want to be among crowds of tourists. The neighborhood is quiet and very close animated places. We appreciated taking the breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the gardens. The bed and the sofa were confortable. Rebecca ans her husband, who are living in the building, were very helpful.
Owner response:If you want to experience New York's oldest Neighborhood and run into Sarah Jessica Parker or Mathew Broderick, this is the place for you. Owner

This apartment worked out perfectly for my wife, our 2 boys and me. As a native, I wanted to feel like I could jump right back into city living and this apartment was perfect. The high ceilings and terrace had all the elements of my favorite things about city living. The small kitchen allowed the boys to stick to their morning routines. You also can't beat the location. The neighborhood is in a constant state of motion with local artists, cute Bistros, shopping in every direction and plently of people watching opportunities. When you are done exploring the city just return to the apartment and relax on the quiet deck. Have a great time. We will definitely come back. Daniel
