This is a great value.

We stayed for 18 days here in November,2011. The house is as represented on the listing. The owners were very accomodating in all regards. We were given fresh fruit to begin our stay. The home is very well located, just a short distance to downtown Kona with its many shops and restaurants, but far enough away to be in a quiet setting. It was close to grocery shopping, ocean kayaking, sport fishing and various tours for snorkeling, these being only a block or two away. The house was immaculately clean on arrival. The only extremely minor drawback, as I think has been mentioned by others, was that the kitchen ( which is marvelous ) was a bit light on silverware and mixing bowls. I almost hesitate to mention that as everything else was perfect. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Mahalo Ed and George. It was great to meet you both. I can strongly reccomend this rental and I am "picky".

I Wanna Go Back

You won't find more gracious, helpful and fun hosts than Ed and George. They brought us as many avocados and papayas as we could eat and even invited us to visit their farm. Mainland avocados will never satisfy me again. The house is mega spacious and comfortable. There is a private pool and fabulous sun deck too. The screened in lanai is perfect for breakfast while watching birds and geckos or playing cards in the evening. The location is wonderful and gives you the feeling of being at home - a local in this quiet neighborhood. The home is within walking distance to the Keauhou Shopping Center, which conveniently has a grocery store and plenty of restaurants. It's just a 3 minute walk to a lovely bay that you will probably have all to yourself or about a 15 minute walk to Kahalu’u Beach Park for some great snorkeling! We even took a leisurely walk into Kona for lunch, which is an easy 5 mile walk and then took the shuttle back to the shopping center. How convenient is that? We really felt at home here and will most likely return year after year.

Home in Paradise

Aloha , Ed and George were perfect charming hosts. This house was exactly as stated and more. We loved the outdoor spaces and spent most of our evenings playing cards or reading on the lanai. We had plenty of space for 3 teenagers and mom and dad. Kitchen was well-equipped and clean. Ed and George even traded some of my famous strawberry jam for their honey. We had a fierce (but quick) thunderstorm one night and Ed and George were over the next AM to check on things. The location was great, especially with the grocery store up the road. (3 teenagers!) We traveled all over the island and appreciated the range of ecosystems on the island. Something for everyone. We walked on the golf course almost every AM-early and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. We will definitely be back! Mahalo! Peggy from Oregon

Great Getaway

This was our 1st stay on the Kona side of the Big Island. This home is very spacious, airy, open, extremely clean and has a great layout for hanging out together, or having some private space. The furnishings are contemporary, and we loved the large, well equipped kitchen for cooking most of our meals, and the cool, screened in lanai for enjoying breakfast, while listening to the many birds or watching the geckos race about, We loved coming home after a day of sightseeing to have a drink by the pool or jump in for a swim. The two master bedrooms have huge walk in closets, and private baths. All three bedrooms also have a tv, and there are plenty of ceiling fans. We opted to pay extra for air conditioning, but we rarelyl needed it. We found it very easy to communicate with Ed via telephone or email, and he personally greeted us and showed us around. He brought us fresh avocados and honey from his farm, and even tried to contact us to invite us to come to his home when the tsunami warning and evacuation were ordered. Fortunately, we had safely left and there was no damage near his home. The home is in a good location, convenient to the nearby shopping center, Saturday farmers market, and trips on Alii drive to downtown Kailua. We also enjoyed traveling to the northern part of the island, the Hilo side, and of course, the volcano. We hope to return again to the Big Island, and will certainly make reservations to stay at Ed's . Mahalo again, Ed, for making our three weeks in your home a truly relaxing and memorable vacation.

Owner response:thanks makes us happy to see our guest have perfect stay at our property. thanks again

Great Place!

This was our first time at Kailua-Kona and our first time renting a home. Ed and George were there to welcome us and to show us around. The house is beautiful with a great floor plan, giving us tons of space and privacy inside and out, including a private pool and sundeck above the pool to view the sunsets and a large screened-in front porch for extra outdoor living. The location was great and close to everything from Keauhou Bay, beaches, grocery shopping, and restaurants, many within walking distance. We would definitely come here again!

not a typical rental

We spent 3.5 weeks in Ed's place over Christmas, and loved it. Ed and George are very nice. When we arrived, Ed welcomed us with some fruits and avocado from his farm. The house was beautiful and tastefully furnished and decorated, definitely not the usual rental unit. It felt like home, very quiet and peaceful. We were very happy there and will definitely be back! Thanks Ed and George.

Look no further, you have found the perfect hale in beautiful Hawaii! We rented vacation homes for 6 years in Kailua-Kona and when we found Ed’s rental, we knew we had finally found our yearly vacation home that we will return to for years to come. This vacation home is full of aloha, starting with the most gracious owner Ed who welcomes you to his beautiful home that is full of love, comfort and contemporary style. There are upgrades throughout, including the kitchen (appliances/pots/pans,) bathrooms and bedrooms (comfortable beds.) It has a great floor plan with multiple living areas; privacy galore inside and out, including a private pool and sundeck above the pool to view great sunsets and a screened-in front porch for extra outdoor living. It even has AC for those hot days! It has a perfect location to everything from wonderful Keauhou Bay, great beaches, snorkel/kayak rentals, grocery shopping, restaurants and other amenities. Truly an incredible home that has all the comforts, beauty and fun that you and your loved ones are looking for; it has it all! Mahalo Ed for making our Birthday trip so memorable and a dream come true experience! We will be back this year and may even bring my Sister and family for another dream come true vacation at your beautiful home. Again, Mahalo!

This vacation rental is a wonderful place to stay. It is kept immaculately clean, and has all the comforts of home, including internet access, flat screen television, and Bose radio. Due to the dry weather, we had a problem with ants,Ed was very helpful and just a phone call away. The property has an above ground pool, and 2 deck area, including one above the garage that gives a great view of the mountains and ocean. There is a screened living area that was very comfortable in the evenings and protection from mosquitoes.

My sister’s family and myself with my two children had the opportunity to stay in this fantastic house for a week in February of this year. The home is absolutely gorgeous, very spacious and provided a great place to relax, having a pool, patio furniture, huge roof-top deck with amazing sunset views, and 1300 square feet of outdoor wood decks which can be accessed from every bedroom. The home has 3 indoor sitting areas, a big screen TV as well as a TV in every bedroom, a stereo system, a beautiful kitchen, 3 bathrooms, etc. etc. etc. It really is a fantastic house and is just down the road from the Keauhou Shopping Centre and a 15 minute walk to Kahalu’u Beach Park, which provided for some amazing snorkeling. The home is on a quiet street with great access to the highways. One week was not enough time to enjoy all this home had to offer and I can’t wait to go back.
