Villa Mot Mot in Tulemar resort has two floors, each with its own separate entrance.

The top floor has one bedroom with two Queen size beds. There is also a pull-out trundle style day bed in the living room. There is a kitchen with a large wrap-around deck that looks out onto the ocean and is visited daily by the families of monkeys in the area. The veranda is covered for outside seating and dining and includes a hammock. The villa is located in a private gated property in the rainforest that has a private beach, the only one of its kind in the area.

The bottom floor is a studio apartment with a king size bed, a wet bar and a large Jacuzzi tub. Perfect for couples! It also has a small deck for watching the sunset. Both floors have cable TV and a VCR, microwaves, hairdryers and "rainfall" showers in the bathrooms.

Full maid service and breakfasts are included

  • We just returned from Manuel Antonio where we spend the first 2 night at the very popular Hotel Si como no and the rest of our stay at Villa Mot Mot. We much preferred the Villa over the Hotel because of all the additional amenities (like the kitchen and the private beach )the overall feel of privacy and coziness and the unbelievable beauty of the view.The villa is ideally situated inside the Tulemar Gardens complex, witch is a gated community that has direct access to a lovely and quiet beach. Tulemar is also within walking distance to all the gourmet restaurants and a 5 minute drive to the bigger beach ad National Park in Manuel Antonio. We expected a lot based on descriptions and pictures we found on the Internet before making reservations and Villa Mot Mot certainly lived up to our expectations. We were greeted upon arrival by Diego, the property manager and a great guy, and received a full tour of the property. The villa is very well decorated and has all the comforts including plasma TV and a fully functional kitchen. I have to say that the best asset was the large terrace that raps around the villa where we saw the most beautiful sunsets and met all kind of wildlife everyday we stayed there: my children favorites were the white faced monkeys that visited us in the morning . The area offers many choices as far as activities: from rafting to zip lining. Because we were traveling with 2 small children(2 and 5) we spent most of our time at the beach where we mastered body surfing and sand crabs hunting ( no worry ,we let them all go!) . The fact that boogie boards, sand toys and kayaks as well as snorkeling gears were all free of charge was a nice plus. Getting back to the villa was always the highlight of our day and by the end of our stay we knew many of the friendly people that work inside the facility. We LOVED our stay at the Mot Mot and we are already planning our next visit in this little corner of paradise.

    More photos My family stayed at Tulemar in the Mot Mot villa last July (I wrote a review much earlier, but it wouldn't upload my photos that night and then I spaced it for months). I am a travel consultant so I choose 2 places in MA to give me a better understanding of the price differences in the area...Tulemar and Posada jungle. I booked Villa Mot Mot through VRBO and we could not have been happier with the room. The villa comes with a person to help if you have any issues or questions...Diego took us shopping to get groceries and drove us around to show us the great places to eat. The villa was beautiful and spacious (2 adults and 2 kids) and had such a wonderful view of the water and wildlife every day. We had so many animals using our deck as a bridge from one place to another: Monkeys, a sloth, coati, many lizards. My kids loved to just hang out on the deck and watch every morning when the monkeys came through and played on the rooftops of the rooms all around. The private beach was the best! You can walk there in 15 minutes, which we did every day because there was always some new mammal, bird or insect to spot along the way. There is also a shuttle that will bring you up and down to the beach if you do not want to walk...it is a little steep in areas. The beach has boogie boards and kayaks to use for free and snacks/drinks available. The restaurant has a great included breakfast...we all loved the gallo pinto, eggs and fresh fruit. Alan served us every morning and he was such a great guy...teaching my kids some spanish and helping them get thier food. We only ate dinner there on our first night and it was a bit expensive and slow for small kids, but there are so many restaurant options around to choose from. It rained almost every night, so we usually ate dinner on the deck watching the down-pour and went out to restaurants for lunch. we loved cafe Malano and the tapas bar right next to tulemar. I also looked into Buena vista, which is connected to Tulemar, but was so put off by the rudeness of a woman that was answering my emails and by how much more $ they were for the same property. I checked out Buena vista when I was there and was sooo glad I chose Mot Mot instead...just as luxurious for less $ and the owner was wondereful (on VRBO). I loved Manuel Antonio and Villa Mot MOt!
