We very much enjoyed this great home in Tahoe City. We especially appreciated the exceptionally well-supplied kitchen with every amenity, utensil, and small appliance you could wish for. All the separate "spaces" (two decks, den, back yard, living room, etc.) were much appreciated by us six adults and two children. The decorations in a "mountain cabin" theme were a very nice touch. Very comfortable beds and bedrooms. It was also perfect for access to Tahoe City (a short walk), the Truckee River, bike and walking trails, and to everything around Lake Tahoe -- and happily out of the frenzy of South Lake Tahoe. The owner was very friendly and efficient in setting up the rental. We'll definitely recommend this others.

Not only is the home just like the pictures, the extra touches were great too! A small but really practical one is that the very well equipped kitchen had labels on all of the cabinets and drawers: no longer did I have to guess if I was returning an item to the correct place or just where the last renter had put it. The den worked great for my 2 teenage nephews; both for sleeping and hooking up their game systems. My husband and I had the master suite and it was absolutely luxurious and comfortable, as well as spacious. Also excellent were the SPA, and the fenced, landscaped backyard. It was a great place for the outdoor activities. We definitely would like to rent this again.

This house is both beautiful and comfortable. The online virtual tour was accurate. The amenities were the best we have ever had in a vacation rental. I wish my kitchen at home was as well equipped. The house was clean and Charlene (the owner) could not have been more helpful with suggestions for activities and restaurants. We were happy to be on the west side of the lake as we enjoyed hiking, kayaking, biking, the beaches, and the beauty of the scenery in general. The house is also biking and walking distance from downtown Tahoe City with shops, restaurants, a farmers' market, and the week we were there an outdoor arts and crafts show. The weather was spectacular, and we would definitely recommend this property and location fo a friend.

My family, including adult children and grandchildren stayed at Black Bear Lodge the week of June 14th 2010. What a wonderful place. The furnishings are beautiful. Decorated just as a Tahoe home should be. I came prepared with all the extras like spices, coffee, etc. and it was all there. No need to bring anything. The back yard was perfect for a family, with a lot of seating, horseshoes, a hot tub, BBQ, etc. We walked into Tahoe City daily along a trail close by used also for cycling. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return in the future.

Happy New Year Charlene! Our group of 9, (2 families of four joined by marriage, plus 97-year old "Papa Vince"), enjoyed a wonderful family Christmas in your beautiful Tahoe City home. We read, played games (including bridge and a couple of raucous WII rock band jams) and relaxed in comfort. Our son's mother-in-law Elaine, a gourmet cook, found your kitchen well-equipped and out did herself with our meals which were all prepared and eaten at your home. The four "kids" (ages 28 thru 32) and one father ski-ed squaw on Christmas Eve day--sun, fresh snow and no lift lines--perfect! Upon their return a dip in the hot tube eased those sore muscles. Thank you for renting to us! Carole and family

During the week of the 4th of July, my family stayed at this charming home in Tahoe City. It was just what we were looking for. The Black Bear Lodge came equipped with everything we needed. We took full advantage of the BBQ, open back yard, jacuzzi and all the other great amenities. I was also very impressed by how organized everything was. You can tell that the owners take really great care of this place. The location is awesome too. We were walking distance to the lake and there are great restaurants nearby. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Ditto on what the previous guest mentioned. The owners have touched on every last detail. It's more than convenient to Tahoe City and yet in a quiet locataion. The place is as well kept and clean as the pictures describe on the website. You can't ask for anything better. Hopefully the rates stay unchanged:)

Could not ask for a more comfortable vacation home. My husband and many members of his family enjoyed our four day weekend up in Tahoe thanks to this fabulous house. After a day of skiing, the hot tub was a great relief. There wasn't an amenity that we were left wishing for. 2 Minutes up the street was a great little park for kids (sledding hills, a toe rope to teach kids to ski, etc... All that for $9/person. Grannlibaken is the name). Now, back to the house...The den was perfect for the kids to go down and play (separate from the adults) and the house had several fun games. We definitely plan to revisit this house in the years to come.
