My family stayed at this location for an eight day vacation in Paris. It was exactly as described, beautiful, comfortable, and centrally located to major shopping/sights/transportation. The owner was easy to work with and provided an extensive list of suggestions and helpful hints. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation to families with child who are looking for an alternative to hotels.

Christmas Week - very nice apartment, quiet and convenient location

My family had a lovely time in Paris Christmas week. The location of this apartment is super convenient and also away from the crowds! It is a nice, roomy apartment and we were very comfortable - 4 adults - and enjoyed living in the local style. Grocery shops, pastries, and the best chocolates and cheese shops right around the corner. The subway, buses, and taxi stand are just a few meters away, so easy to get to the main tourist attractions within minutes. Most of all, it was great to come home after being in the Christmas bustle and relax in the quiet of this neighborhood. Property was clean and the beds comfortable. Sheets and towels were changed as described in the listing. Shower has good water pressure and ample supply of hot water. Kitchen has full range-top and small oven/toaster, so easy to cook light meals. The area is very safe, and we all felt comfortable walking at all times of day and night. Elevator is handy too - European style - so fits one or two - for seniors and those who are just tired from walking all day! Owner was very generous with her recommendations of restaurants, shops, etc. and answered all our questions beforehand. I recommend visiting Lenôtre for chocolates and fabulous pastries. It is just around the corner. It was very, very busy Christmas eve with people picking up multiple boxes of chocolates!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing.

Convenient location, nice property

This apartment is just as described and as the pictures showed. The bedrooms are good size and beds are comfortable. The apartment itself and the building were very clean & well maintained, with recyclable containers in the courtyard and trash containers in a small room off the courtyard. The Wifi was great, making looking up maps and information easy. My mother has trouble with stairs, so the elevator (lift) was a huge help. The washer & dryer were a great convenience especially on the day we got caught in a rain storm! :) There is a main line metro stop about 1 block away and it connects to multiple other lines which made traveling around the city very easy. There is also a bus stop less than 1/2 block away that we decided to use a few times when my mom was not up to walking the metro steps. The small markets around the area were nice and since we chose not to eat out much, the bigger market about 2 blocks east made shopping for daily meals very convenient. The owner was very nice, easy to work with and sent a list of details for the apartment along with many suggestions for restaurants, shopping, etc. for the area, which we much appreciated. The owner also answered any questions we had and was prompt in the replies. One minor note, the street in front of the building does get pretty busy during rush hour (about 8:30 - 9:30 am) & could get a bit noisy when we had the windows open, but with the windows closed, it was hardly noticeable. By staying in this apartment vs. a hotel, it made our trip much more affordable (not having to eat out every meal) and much more comfortable by being able to stretch out and not be confined to a small hotel room and I would definitely recommend this listing.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Family of four on short trip to visit Paris

It is so hard to find a good place to stay in Paris if you have a family. This apartment is so wonderful, so comfortable, clean, with easy access to metro, in a beautiful, safe neighborhood, and just right for hanging around and walking to the park one day when you need to relax. This apartment really enabled us to enjoy our stay so much more fully. The owner is so helpful and lovely, and the neighborhood is very friendly, we enjoyed walking across the street for shopping, groceries, dinner. So convenient! You can even do your laundry here as the kitchen has a small washer and dryer which for us was a big help. The apartment is a great experience in itself, its a circa-1900 building with the old style apartment, a fireplace in every room. A very romantic way to experience Paris yet have the ability to slow down a bit as if you were home. We hope to return one day for another memorable visit.

Parisian apartment

A very helpful owner who provided many useful details such as nearby restaurants, shopping, etc. Very close to metro line 1 and in a very nice and friendly neighborhood. Many of the restaurants were ones you not simply stumble across but were hidden away and used by locals. We enjoyed them very much. It seemed tobe a local and affluent neighborhood away from the hordes of tourists which was very enjoyable.. The apartment was perfect for two parents with 2 girls (9 &12 y.o.) I would recommend the apartment to others but be aware there is no pool or computer as claimed and the advertised view "from the apartment of the Arc de Triomphe" does not exist. Overall we had a fantastic time.

Owner response: OWNER’S RESPONSE Geoff was a guest from July 13 to July 20, 2010. He was a good tenant, but I need to correct some remarks he made, as follows: 1) RE :ARC DE TRIOMPHE. I never mentioned that you could see the Arc of Triomphe from my apartment, but from my apartment building. There is a view from the higher floors. Also, when you walk 50 yards, there is a great view of it, as you are on the famous “Napoleon’s Way” -- a straight line of 5 Km, that extends from the Pyramid of the Louvre through the Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe to the Seine River and La Defense. 2) RE: COMPUTER. In addition to WIFI/ high speed internet, I had a Dell PC computer in the apartment since January 2008 that all of my guests have enjoyed. Unfortunately, I have had several computer problems, incurring expensive payments to technicians. The last one occurred the first week of July 2010. The technician being on vacation, I decided to put the non-working computer in the basement and alerted my guests by phone, so they could bring their laptops. I decided not to bring the computer back, thereby eliminating future headaches. 3) RE: SWIMMING POOL. There is a state-of-the-art Aquatic Center 5 minutes walk from the apartment. When itemizing the listing, there is a check mark with no room for description. After I spoke with VRBO/HOMEAWAY personnel, I was advised to leave swimming pool and explain the details to my guests. It is what I am doing in a detailed letter addressed to my guests well in advance of their signing a rental agreement. Also, my building, as shown in the photo on my listings, is classic beginning of the century architecture; and as everyone knows, there were no swimming pools in those types of building in Paris. 4) FINALLY, Mr. Geoff… was pleased with his trip, and left the apartment in an overall very good condition. I only wish that he had had the courtesy to tell me of a broken window pane, which happened during his occupancy. It would have given me time to have it repaired before the next guest. The Owner
